      Just thought I would let you know.. I have been working on something far more time intensive and completely useless.
      Basically I have been building a supercar from the ground up, making everything down to the suspension, engine, and chassis as realistic as I can.. in Minecraft. How you might ask? It's over 100 blocks long. And I've spent months on it. And many google searches have been done. I'm probably only like 50% done (all the main things are mostly done, ie- the entire rear half of the car.)

    I can confirm that the cleaning tubs are sometimes on rails. I'm an automation tecnician and at the pharma firm I work at our cleaning tubs are also on rails. But only on the older buildings (about 20-30 years old) The newest building has a different system. Also the rails are close to the edge and the tubs are not rotating on a crane. So the rails do all the work.

    Kind of fun seeing this from the engineering and architecture side. I'm used to the perspective of the guy pouring the concrete.
    Edit: 9:00 one of the ways we reinforce concrete aside from rebar are cable tensioners. You insert these sleeves full of grease through the concrete when it's being poured, and put steel cables under thousands of pounds of tension through them, anchored at the ends so they don't snap and tear put of there obviously. The tension of the cables puts the concrete under compression, strengthening it.

    I don't know about the modern buildings. But in the ones i've worked on, the HVAC system works just as a domestic air conditioner (heat goes out for cooling and viceversa) but instead of using tons and tons of gas, they used cool water towers that go through the whole building, this water then takes the heat from inside and goes up to the top to dissipate the heat and restart the cycle.

    If you put a little bit of space between the ceiling and the next floor, you can have redstone dust and repeaters for wiring to activate lights. And if you so choose, you can put space between walls to allow a redstone signal to go up from the switch on the wall to the wires in the ceiling.

    • @iujt
      @iujt 2 роки тому +1

      @@idkwho4151 Hello! At least in the country I live and the University I study at, not really. A school of architecture does have a really heavy workload, but it’s mostly practical work; Mocks, drawings, building designs, etc. Very little is theoretical, and even less mathematics. Although if you can, I do recommend you study some maths especially related to structural engineering and such. This is not a necessity, but if you do learn some engineering you will probably become a better architect, as your designs will already be structurally proper, and the engineer won’t have to ruin them (as they do sometimes) in order to make them work with the laws of physics.
      TL;DR: It’s not too hard, it’s recommended you study some extra engineering courses though.

    You should definitely go for the hockey stadium! Also, I like the laid-back commentary.

    You switch from Minecraft talk and IRL Architecture talk so seamlessly through out the video I need to take a second to realize which one your talking about

    Just a small addition to 8:42 about why nobody uses full steel for skyscrapers.
    While its way more durable than concrete in many ways, Its terrible against fire.
    In a case where a fire is spreading throughout the building, It will not burn down in parts but completely collapse given enough time. Since stell shares the heat with the rest of the constructure, It wont just destroy a room and move on to the next but instead it will collapse an entire floor to get further.
    Which is WHY glass and reinforced concrete are better options than going full in with Steel.

    I absolutely love building skyscrapers. You should do some livestreams on here or twitch.
