I have a bunch of unused Vancouver footage, do you want a giant Vancouver trip video? I have about 3k short clips but I'll take the interesting ones. There's a bunch of clips of me talking about urban planning & architecture too. I'm also headed to NYC in 2.5 weeks, do you want a video where I explore & talk about buildings the whole time? Ofc I'll still use the footage in Minecraft videos where I need them
A small tip, to get in and out of buildings easily through walls you can press F3+N to switch from creative to spectator mode easily and then f3+n again once inside to switch back to creative
The white overgrown buildings with the brown vertical fins (16:02) that stretch from bottom to top reminds me of new (cheaply built) suburban malls in Singapore, and honestly, I IRL dislike those vertical fins too. The uninviting staircase at street level that hides shops on the courtyard (21:36) is also a thing in Singapore, because despite the flatness of the city, the asphalt and pavement are often at different levels. Shops become a destination for the familiar instead of places to be explored, and that works fine for a mall, but is horrific for the limited amount of street level pavement-facing shops we have. The wild-ish flowers along the buildings instead of a manicured set of flowers (20:35) is typical of northern Europe and New Zealand, and I think creates a perception of rurality and lower density.
Hey Alpine. I hope you are doing well. I have a bit of an odd question, but I watched your video on designing roads and curved roads and was wondering if you have any tips for making highways that adhere to the terrain around them? Thanks in advance.
I enjoyed your video! The builds were incredible and really inspired me to get back into it myself. The fact that you included reference material from Vancouver speaks for the effort you put into your vids. I understand your time struggles with uni, always looking forward to your next post. Maybe you can make another walking tour, where you do not go into depth but fly around community builds.
amazing video id love to have some introduction into cubed pack, because there's so much stuff you can use in builds like 20:10 collums, or those indent blocks. and i know making full totorial on cubed would be tedious to make, maybe some day. thanks alpine ❤❤
I love your builds I’m building horncastle but similar in a different way and I love your builds tutorials videos everything time to get comfortable watching this:)
Hey Alpine, I really appreciate the effort and also the knowledge you've been giving and I'm highly motivated to try to build my own city in survival. The thing though is that all your resources and tutorials are dependent of the resource pack you use. Some of your tips doesn't fully apply to the default Minecraft resource pack. The connected textures for glass for example, this is OptiFine feature that doesn't work in Vanilla. How would your work be impacted if was done using only what the game provides? Thanks :)
Is it even possible for an architect to criticize someone elses architecture? It's all architecture no matter how it looks? 🤔 This has always confused me when architects bash builds of players or buildings. When their opinions usually don't add too or change anything...🤔

yes
Yeah, that would be helpful for if you are in need of a real building to explain a building you are making
Yes
Yes big fan ❤❤❤
Ah yes, getting an architectural degree to build Minecraft cities.
Exactly
That's my goal lol
Isn’t that the sole purpose of an architecture degree?

And then Meta starts hiring architects for cities in the metaverse...

Brp is fooling me with changing his videos names 😭
Sorry lol
I was just wondering, what version of Minecraft do you use, and what mods do you use with it?
Hey! I use Java with Optifine 1.14.4 and the CubedPack textures!
@@Alpine1 Thanks!
Playing with you would be amazing 😢
You could buy a metro for the city!
Hey man! Where can i send u some prints of buildings for u to judge?
Have you ever played Cities skylines? If not you should try it and plan a realistic city because your talented
Do you have a dyna map for any of your worlds
what mods using for maps?
To be honest, the builds are very complicated, I like yours more..
I'll be building more when I can! University is taking up a lot of my time unfortunately
Now try making realistic city builds without a resource pack... I've been having a hard time with it XD

Yeah it’s subjective so it doesn’t really make sense to be criticizing
