Me too! Since I made the build completely off-camera, I had full control of the production and storyline. I hope this video does well, because this is the type of content I’ve always wanted to make :)
Civil engineering student here, I can safely say that it is a well designed building. I always think that applying real buildings standards in a fictional world is a good way to stand out when building, your work becomes believable. And also, for the walls around the stairwell, it can be considered as a shear wall, however for structural reasons, such large openings are not usual (but still possible). Anyways, thank you for making this video
Thanks for the comment! I love making these videos, so you can expect lots more. yeah there's definitely some issues I noticed about the wide-open space, if I were to redesign this building I'd have to work it out
I 100% agree about the fact that applying realistic standards makes things stand out. I always got praised for my building techniques when I would build for people in minecraft and other minecraft-like games, because my style is uniquely centered around making spaces that are realistic and that feel big when they're small, or small when they're big. However, a lot of my raw skill and talent from before are lost to the ages as I haven't built "competitively" for a while.
Escher turned real life; I feel like I could just spend hours finding new paths through this complex beauty. No matter the pay, I would without a doubt work here. Another masterpiece from you like always!
Hi, I studied Fire Code in my time in Architecture, and regarding the staircases, typically buildings would either engage in a "Smoke Stop Lobby", which essentially is an additional room that connects a space to a staircase, where doors are fire-rated and keep out as much smoke as possible. You would also like to consider open-ventilation on staircases connected to an exterior wall, though this might require to break up the facade.
I'm a software engineering major so I can't fully understand the concepts and thought processes behind this project, however this doesn't make my watching experience any less entertaining. I love the imaginative and creative approach you take when designing those buildings, making those spaces feel alive and like they'd fit in the real world. It's truly breathtaking. Keep it up!
I’m glad you enjoyed! I tried to explain concepts without making it too complicated or “dumbed-down”, a nice middle ground for viewers that might not be familiar with buildings. I’m brainstorming new ideas for a new video, I have a pretty crazy one but I’ll keep it a secret for now 👀
Ok, so. I have a couple of practical problems with this build. 1. The sound from all the people working in these office spaces would probably echo through the entire building because of the atrium and quickly become a nightmare. 2. Privacy and security. Most of your build is completely open, which I am a fan of. That being said, I think the design invites some unwanted attention in a workspace. Also, you don't have any doors on your staircases. 3. I can't decide, whether I like the color scheme or not. I get that this is supposed to be an urban space that doesn't use a whole lot of color, but I can't help but feel like I'm in a jungle of gray. Then again, you did design the build to feel like a cave. All and all, I think you have (again) completely outdone yourself. I especially love the way you brought down the ceiling with the sunshades.
All great points, thanks for brining them up! 1. Maybe it could benefit from some dividers (nothing solid, maybe small greenwalls? acoustic tiles may also help) 2. Yeah I typically leave most things open for people to explore, in reality only office workers would have access to the upper floors 3. I agree, it's not for everyone, I don't use it all the time, but I find its good to help a lot of builds fit into the environment without sticking out too much. I feel the wood floors and greenery keeps you grounded in the space, and looking up makes you feel more "uneasy", but in a good way sort of Another problem with the build that I only noticed yesterday is that fire safety is an issue because of the lack of separations, so if I was designing this in real life that's something I'd need to figure out too. Thanks for the comment! I always love the feedback, it helps me make my builds better and helps my designs in general :)
Glad you enjoyed! I really like making these style of videos, I can build beforehand instead of having to worry about how I’m going to record at the same time. It gives me a lot more flexibility when it comes to the production side.
Wow this doesn't leave anything unaddressed! I came into this prepared for some good ol' over-thinking and the usual pretty Alpine1 tower design, but I wasn't prepared to remember entire civil engineering uni courses that I'd apparently suppressed until now xD I'm tempted to submit this building for LEED certification lol :P
Buddy I can't explain how much I admire your skills! And not only the building one! Your creativity, organization, dedication, style(your desk looks green and cozy), your clear and confident voice. You will be a great leader, capitan... I wish you were gifted a large piece of land irl so you could build a real city. If this will happen I'm moving there!
always so informative, casual viewers watching for something that looks good in Minecraft always come out, from experience, with a little bit of knowledge on architectural design or something about how structures are made to support itself or anything really.. came for Minecraft, stayed for the education : )
Great to hear, happy to have you! I really liked making this video because it allowed me to build before recording anything, which made the build 5x better than it would have turned out
Top work here man! :) Would love to see what an actualy BIM model of this building would look like, realized with actual dimensions and rendered. Grateful for the video, as always. and God bless!
Hey alpine, I'd just like to let you know that you're videos gave me the final push to devote myself to going into architecture and eventually getting my MArch, thanks so much for the amazing and informative videos man, keep it up
I would love to see you collab with Real Civil Engineer on a buildilng (gaming channel, UK engineer, primarily does city skylines and timberborn). Idk if your personalities would gel but if it worked out, I think the content would be really really fun to watch
Great video as usual! However, the background music when you're explaining everything is a bit too distracting and upbeat. Maybe try for something calm next time :) . Keep the great work up!
Hey your videos have inspired me to start learning architectural engineering however I am lost where to even begin. I have 18 months left before I graduate and I am currently studying the IB. Could you perhaps give me tips or a little guide to help me please?
Hey, I love your builds and I wanted to build one for myself. I checked out your pateron but it doesn't seems to work, is it just me or does everyone face the same problem?
Not too long! I had about 40 clips, I added markers to the beat of the music, and layered the clips with some crop effects! I saw something similar on architecture channels so I wanted to do something similar :)

If you don’t have world edit you could use structure blocks. They are basically a copy/paste block.
I LOVE the format of this video. I think you've really found the formula. The immersive tour at the end was a total treat

Glad you like it! I'm brainstoming ideas for my next build, it'll be just as or even more complex than this one

I really like this one. It reminds me of brutalism but at the same time it feels much more open and inviting.
Thanks Zab! I love my builds to be interesting but still welcoming :)
I know Alpine is a good designer, but his editing and cinematography are amazing

Great video! Enjoyed every minute of it. You explain everything so simply while keeping it very thorough. Can’t wait for more videos alike

Haha gotta get the good stuff too B)
i think this is one of the most beautiful minecraft builds ive ever seen.
At this point, alpine’s editing is better than the top creators!

Thanks so much! I love making these types of videos, so you can expect lots more :)
Wow, everything in this build is impressive
Whenever I watch Alpine videos I get reminded how underdeveloped my hometown is.
Yay another video it's been so long since you uploaded thx for uploading
as per usual the intro edits are insane! :D
THIS IS WHAT I WANTED, THANK YOU VERY MUCH

That really means a lot to hear. Maybe we’ll end up in the same MArch program, who knows!
2 videos in the span of 4 days wow this is rare keep up the good work!

you are my most favourite minecraft building channel, your video always inspire me to build more and more
I love your work and method of building.❤
Why did I just get a notification for this when there's comments from 2days ago??
video just released publically but was probably just unlisted for the past few days
Patreon members get early access :)
@@Alpine1 ohhhh gotcha, I might get patreon soon :)
@@Al1xy_ sounds great! Of course only do so if you have the means, don't let me take your money if you need it more for something else
During the tour I thought that I was in mirrors edge for a sec
I can already hear the safety inspectors screaming
Could you please get Litematica mod and come out with a schematic file? It might be useful for many.
Ur editing makes me want cry 👏👏
This is the most amazing minecraft video I have ever seen!
Awesome build
A beautiful structure Alpine!
Are you planning on doing another build for the Building Toronto project again in the future?
I might! I have some other video ideas I want to get done before I consider anything else though
I dream to become an architect....I found u helpful and Minecraft is amazing too dude 😎
it’s beautiful
good video alpine1

When will the new episode of alpine reviews your build come?
is there a mod list?
Wohoo
I feel like this is nightmare of japan😂❤
What shader does he use?
will this server ever made public so everyone can explore your builds
Hello! It’s on Cubed Community, you can grab the details from the description:)
Hey your videos have inspired me to start learning architectural engineering however I am lost where to even begin. I have 18 months left before I graduate and I am currently studying the IB. Could you perhaps give me tips or a little guide to help me please?
What resolution is the texture pack?
Pog video

Hey, I love your builds and I wanted to build one for myself. I checked out your pateron but it doesn't seems to work, is it just me or does everyone face the same problem?
Hey! I shut it down a while ago, forcing myself to create was killing my creativity
You said you use CubedPack but the trees and everything is it also a texture pack or just the mod ? And what shader you use ?
What shaders do you use?
Hi! The high-end ones are SEUS PTGI, and the other ones (used in the tour at the end) are BSL with some custom settings.
@@Alpine1 ok thank you!
How many different mods or texture packs do you use for your builds ?
i bet this was asked a ton but which shader is used here?
Any way to get the map or an IP adress for the server?
Yup! I’ll add it in the description
Someone please tell me the mod he’s using.I’ve been looking for it for ages
14 mins ago?
Ok but how long did it take you to edit that intro alone XD
