Drunken poets hold a soft place in my heart. Ray is a great guy I miss a lot.Much love to to Ray and Lucas and the Hubbard family. I have appeared in front of him a few times now and so am less nervous, I'm as relaxed as Wrecks Bell and Hayes now. Blessings from me and the Texas Music Cafe Family.
Never heard of Ray Wylie Hubbard before today. I heard one of his songs on another channel so I wanted to see him in concert. What a talent! His talent and personality remind me of Leon Russell.
Once a part of the 3W's Willie, Waylon and Ray Wylie Hubbard...He drank a lot, in his younger days. We danced around each other, one night in a bar. I don't think he even saw me, he was quiet inebriated. I heard he was going to marry a girl, much younger than himseelf. I think she was 16 at the time. I knew her mother. Then they just kind of disappeared and I never knew what happened to either of them. It's nice to see him like this. He has a beautiful voice & seems to be very happy.
I’ve loved Ray Wiley Hubbard since the 70’s around Austin. I am glad he found his salvation and is still alive to listen. RIP Townes Van Zandt , who was not able to. I love you forever Townes. “One of Your Fine Ladies”

What a wonderful time spent with Ray Wylie! I've enjoyed his music for a number of years, but this is the first I've watched him play and it is a joy to experience his humor, dry as Texas dust and sharp as a filet knife, not to mention his music which is like listening to an autobiography, only more interesting....

I just saw Ray in Tucson at our Folk Festival and his show was amazingly similar to this one, including the jokes. I really enjoyed the performance and he had his son playing guitar and the kid is excellent too. Together they were really good. Thanks for coming out Ray.

He's Wiley that's for damn sure. Love those lyrics man, you've been there I can tell. Thanks.
This video has not changed my life nor has it changed my choice of music but what it has done … it has changed my evening for the better and thank you very much for making this available to experience.
A Texas icon. "Beans and biscuits in my cupboard. Listen to Ray Wylie Hubbard!"~Hayes Carll
+Rick Vidrine, Jr. can't blame him or Bob Wills for being born in Oklahoma. Guess we will fight for him also.
+j stark Bob Wills born in Turkey, TEXAS
Awesome!! that is about the best word I can find to describe RWH. If there’s a better word I would use it. Ray is the best ever.
Most of his songs are one line long, separated by commas but never periods. Masterful songwriting. The humor is rich icing.
Never heard of Ray Wylie Hubbard before today. I heard one of his songs on another channel so I wanted to see him in concert. What a talent! His talent and personality remind me of Leon Russell.
Ray your what makes me love America, I keep coming back to watch your honest greatness 👍😷🍄
Still here my friend! calabogie @RealCanadianSeniors ❤😎🤠
I’ve loved Ray Wiley Hubbard since the 70’s around Austin. I am glad he found his salvation and is still alive to listen. RIP Townes Van Zandt , who was not able to. I love you forever Townes. “One of Your Fine Ladies”
Real...True...and as close to a perfect songwriter as a man can get...beyond just a poet! And a hell of an entertainer! Loved the man for years and will continue supporting him and his kind.
Hello how are you doing today..?
Ray is a Genuine Music maker and a Bonafide Songwriter. He is our Generation and I like him. He has many Tales of Wisdom if you just shut your damn Clap trap and just listen. "The Travis County Work release Blues Band participation Committee" Yeehaw from the Snake Farm
What a writer. And entertainer. I'm only half way through.

I, too just lucked onto Ray on youtube. It leaves me to wonder how many other great talents I have missed by not clicking on a pop-up. His guitar style is mesmerizing. I am totally enthralled.

+Greg Stewart about a thousand years ago, I was in a "TV Production" class with him at what used to be called Arlington State. Seen him in and out of different places over the years. Last time was at your local pharmacy there in Wimberely.
Greg Stewart do him a favour... shoot that rooster.
Beautiful the real deal
What a wonderful time spent with Ray Wylie! I've enjoyed his music for a number of years, but this is the first I've watched him play and it is a joy to experience his humor, dry as Texas dust and sharp as a filet knife, not to mention his music which is like listening to an autobiography, only more interesting....
Absolutely fantastic! One of my favorite performers.
Hey how are you doing..?
Blackberry Smoke turned me on to this Legend. Wow. Thanks Charlie.
Cool blues... great stories, captivating...
just stumbled on this guy listening to Tyler Childers so pleased I came on through

I just saw Ray in Tucson at our Folk Festival and his show was amazingly similar to this one, including the jokes. I really enjoyed the performance and he had his son playing guitar and the kid is excellent too. Together they were really good. Thanks for coming out Ray.
When I hear Ray Wylie I am home! Thank you Mr. Hubbard!
glad I was turned on to him in the early 70's. enjoyed a lifetime of his music..
Hey how are you doing..?
Great picking!!!👍👍 That guitar sound is totally amazing!!!
From Minnesota here and wife is from Texas and I do love Texas. Hell yeah!
God broke that mold ... Ray Wylie, Willie, Lowell George, Kris, Waylon, Levon Helm, and without doubt Billy Joe Shaver, were squeezed out first.
Townes van Zandt as well....
Just about right brother. Dang old BJ Shaver, one of the greatest
Steve Earle
