The Middle Ages are as fascinating a time period as they are misunderstood, as shrouded in legend as in stereotype. But what do we know about how medieval people dealt with health and disease? In this video we take a look at the world of intellectual medicine as it was inherited from the ancient world, how it was partially lost in the west, retained in the east, and eventually returned, as well as how it changed and developed throughout this period of 1000 years.
