- The Early Modern period saw many important developments for intellectual history, and that is no less true for medicine. In this video we discuss the developments in Western medical theory from the Renaissance to the end of the eighteenth century, as Galenism is upheld and then toppled, anatomy comes to the fore, and medical practice... pretty much stays the same. As usual, this is merely an introduction to the topic and I encourage anyone who is interested to do more research for themselves.
