So much truth! I’ve spent the last three months overhauling my life. Nothing wrong with polos but marching band did those in for me 20 years ago. I wanted what you described in another video. My vision, what do I want to emulate/dream. For me, classic killer attitude of Peaky blinders. I’ve carefully update & experimented & coworkers have grown to love it. I show up & give no quarter when deemed. Pocket watch & waistcoat is killer. Thank you! Changed my life forever! Thank you RMRS for all you help! Mad respect!
Thank you, Antonio! I 've been watching many videos of others " how to dress experts" since I 've been struggling in how to match pencil stripes dress pants and your video is the most educative, based in a rich n specific explanation in texture, names of patterns and colours.
Thank you for your knowledge and advice! It's felt like I've been stuck between my 20's and 30's on clothing style and I'm happy to feel comfortable wearing casual dress wear now. I think I've just felt intimidated on what to wear and how to wear it. Stopped by Jos A. Bank yesterday and purchased 2 blazers (one navy tailor fitted), 2 Reserve jeans, 2 stylish polos, 2 button down dress shirts, 1 vest and a pair of dress shoes they recommended (not sure the style, but they look great!). Laid down more money than I wanted too, but now I have a solid base to start with and can add small pieces as I go on. Thanks again! And please don't stop making great videos! Oh, what do you think about the Vincero Collective watches?
Excellent video! Finished completing my collection of solids last summer as a foundation and have been gradually bringing patterns in this year. This was an excellent recap of the most important points to keep in mind.
Thanks for that video. I have been wanting to figure out all the different kinds of stripes for clothes for a little while, I hear the terms used and didn't know what they were visually. This helped out alot.
Hey Antonio, can you talk about different types of weaves. What type is good for suits/shirts. Their strengths and weaknesses. I know there are a lot, you can choose the most common ones. Also fabrics
Very informative! Always a pleasure to learn this useful tips. I'm a 100kg, 5'6" guy, still very new in wearing dress shirts, as well as matching ties. But man, there's so many to learn. Maybe some tips for a big-sized guy like me? Thanks again for the great tips Antonio!
Also if it’s a beer belly, there is one on just that as well. Super helpful because there are differences and most who address this simply lump ‘bigger guy’ into one category. Check it out. Just search channel for beer belly should find it
You really have a lot of knowledge about style and clothing and everything man keep it up. I am really impressed with this video of yours and you are improving quite a bit.
Mr. Centeno, I love your videos. They've helped me very much, while transitioning from the military to college to the work force. My question is about different types of wool suits or jackets. I bought a brown Ralph Lauren sport jacket that is %100 virgin wool, and a Brooks Brothers navy blazer made of %100 worsted wool, both a local thrift store. Along with merino, flannel and other wools, what exactly is the difference? Is any one better for different environments, articles of clothing, or weather? Semper!
First of, I liked the introduction on the living object. Secondly, I liked the explanation in which kind of clothes are which patterns to find. If you asked me which pattern is my fav, I will go with dots and pencil strips. If you meant which tip. I´m saying tip number 2. To start with patterned accessories.
Thanks for adding and putting together. You get strait down to business w/out all the bs lengthy intros that are flooding UA-cam. Opened my eyes on NOT matching pocket squares!
So I'm trying to finish out a look. Grey suit, navy tie with a yellow and red crest in a spaced out dot pattern, with an orange (uneven) plaid shirt. The plaid is mainly orange and navy, any recommendations?
Today a lot of people are buying online so what about a striped or pinstriped jacket with a solid coloured pair of trousers (no jeans or khakis), or vice versa? What do you suggest? If plaids can work surely pinstripes can too.
Antonio, the guide I learned way back was two patterns and a solid, at most. Solid suit can have a patterned shirt and tie; patterned suit can get a patterned shirt, but a solid tie. The more patterns, the more casual. Thoughts?
Man, it's been over 30 years. It could have been from the old tailors I dealt with. Could have been from one of the studies I did in a college marketing course on image and perception. Could have been from my mother, who was a theater director. It is a mannerism I follow probably 85% of the time. When I don't, I find myself following the same train of thought you laid out here. Thanks for asking.
Ok, got a question. White shirt with navy blue suspenders with small White dots, like your shirt, and a burgundy tie with not too loud pattern with White dots and Paisley with hints of blue?
Ok, so how can one tell whether or not a tie is brilliant enough to build an outfit around like you did at the beginning of the video??? Do you have any videos that explain how to get a decent tie from a thrift store??? Upon entering entering the Navy I was told that I was "color deficient " and was initially denied the opportunity to be an electrician. Any advice on how to still rock color??? Oh an please do a tour of American thrift stores!!!
Hey Antonio, I don’t see your channel cover a lot on what to wear to a funeral! It would be appreciated if u could cover on what to wear to a funeral and the etiquette! Thanks,😊
So the casual shirt basically has different patterns. Which might explain why i'm so picky when i'm buying a new shirt... i like it subtle, but also like it to say "well hello there you"
I'd like a video on beach style for men. I'm a Florida grown guy, so i spend a lot of time at the beach and I want to know how to better dress for that.
Hey John - You should join the Facebook group as I post live updates there. I went to Thailand last year and talked about it in the live Q&A. facebook.com/groups/rmrscommunity/
Admittedly, matching patterns is just something I opt out of altogether. Really seems like a headache and I remember a little over ten years ago when guys started putting stripes together en masse and they looked like an optical illusion like if I looked six inches past them, Id see a sailboat or something. So yea, that definitely snapped me out of such a thing.
Yes, paisley is indeed Persian in origin. The Indians adopted the design from Persia, the Scots adopted it from India, and we adopted it from Scotland (the town of Paisley in Scotland, to be exact).
I have never personally liked paisley (in the loud American examples, it can resemble little microbes swimming around), but I may try it now, at least in a classic, understated British interpretation.
Richard Voss little worms or microbes😅..you are right but those particular shapes are in fact plants or vegetation. Generally speaking, paisley is great for pocket square, ties and especially ascots.
Yes, I agree. And thanks for the insight on the "microbes." In fact, some of the original Persian designs look fractal. I can certainly get used to a nice fractal design if it is sufficiently subtle. The Brits can do subtle quite well when they try.
"I'm just gonna research what to wear for my friends wedding..." 4 hours later: "Actually, the SIZE of the dots and the background can make it look VERY casual..." What a science!
Sorry but that outfit doesn't work just because the colors repeat. They're too close to each other, so you don't get proper contrasts. That makes the tie look even louder.

6 th comment . Lots of love from india Antonio sir
As a Persian guy, I would have to say that paisley comes from Persia or Iran. It's called Termeh/Botte in Persian.
Yes, paisley is indeed Persian in origin. The Indians adopted the design from Persia, the Scots adopted it from India, and we adopted it from Scotland (the town of Paisley in Scotland, to be exact).
Richard Voss I admit that the Brits have transcended paisley usage in attire, which I really love.
I have never personally liked paisley (in the loud American examples, it can resemble little microbes swimming around), but I may try it now, at least in

Nice video
Thanks Taha! Which point hit you the most?
No Promotion of other brands. A good decision. The video contains less bullshit. Good.
I have a red dress shirt with awning (or bengal) stripes. Not sure what trousers to wear it with. Maybe I should donate it 😂😂😂

Hello
Hey Cricket Channel!
That look make you like a nice guy
JING-um?
I've heard it both GING-um, and ging-HAM, but never the way you say it here.
Trillo 333 In my head I always heard it as GING-um but I've never heard anyone actually say it. Antonio's pronunciation really took me by surprise.
Fiiiiirst!!! Squaaaad!!
Hi, the pink and blue look good. But for some reason, the outfit just looks cheap. Like a old used car salesman.....
It's because of the dark shirt and lighter tie. The opposite is more formal...
Sorry but that outfit doesn't work just because the colors repeat. They're too close to each other, so you don't get proper contrasts. That makes the tie look even louder.
