    David,
I’ve got 52 years of motorcycle under my belt, but I’m fairly new to Urals.
Your videos are a lifesaver for the newer GU riders like myself.
Thanx, and keep this great content coming!

Nice clear explanation without background music drowning out the content. Well done sir. Cheers

Hello David at Ural motorcycles, these videos are helpful and to the point. One subject that seems to have been overlooked at most Ural related sites I've visited is the "Steering Damper Adjustment". I would like to see a brief explanation on the damper and its setup for road driving on pavement and riding on dirt/gravel roads.

It may be basic, but, I found it useful. The biggest question for me was all the way in or not when re-dipping.Now, I know straight from the horse's mouth.

Have you done a video on how to change these fluids? Specifically the gearbox fluids. I know this a very basic subject but there are people who have no clue as to when or how to perform this basic task. Great video by the way.

Thanks for the info, it answered a couple of questions that I had on checking the gear box and final drive. I have a 2019 Gear Up, one of the problems that I found is that on the 2014 and up the gear oil will start coming out of the vent on the final drive after driving at 55-60mph . I had even measured out the fliud when I did a change, still leaked out. Ural has put the vent too low on the housing, when the gear oil gets hot and expands, it goes out the vent and makes a mess on the bike. I solved this problem by removing the vent, installing a 8mm x 1.25mm set screw in place of the vent, put a little sealer on the threads to keep anything frome leaking out, I ordered a final drive dipstick with a built in vent from Ural of New England and replaced the dipstick with the vented one. I have put almost 600 miles since then, driving at 55-60mph and I have not had any issues or any leaks anywhere on the final drive.

Nice to know Scott, thanks for this tip. I have a 2017 Gear Up, and my final drive oil has been leaking since my 500 mile break-in after picking up the bike from Ural of NE. This is just one of many issues I've had with the bike (both Ural related, as well as Ural of NE related), which in hindsight, makes me doubt purchasing a Ural in the first place.

@@motoboh4656 Hi Bob, my 2019 has been great. I went on a 900 mile trip and the only issue I had was with the final drive leaking out of the vent, figured out the fix after I got back from the trip. What other issues have you had with the bike?

@@DavidZ81T3 Let me know how it works out for you. I also switched all of the lights except for the turn signals over to LED's, will be putting red ones that just arrived in the cluster tomorrow. I got them from super bright led's, I can give you the part numbers of the led's that I used if you want to do your bike.

Are you sure? The gearbox gets the same 20w50 like the Engine? The owners manual says SAE90 for the gearbox.
I use motorex oil for nearly every situation in all my bikes.
What do you think about motorex?
In the differential i use motorex 80w90 g5. What do you think?
Im new in the Ural theme and have no Ural expierience.
    Need your Support soon! 😉

It's odd that @2:27 it show 20W50 for the gearbox and yet the manual for my 2023 and manuals from 2019 show Motul Twin 75W90 for the gearbox. I never heard you say the model year of that pretty Blue bike but I assume the bike is a 2018 or older. It's alos interesting that my 1981 BMW R100RT also uses GL5 75W90 in the gearbox.

I’ll double the question about type of oil. My manual (2010) calls for 20W50 Castrol. Doesn’t specify dino, semi or full synthetic. No concerns using Motul, but does Ural have a more specific recommendation? Thanks.

When are you going to start selling Urals on PEI It is a perfect place for the Urals lots of country roads, great scenery, and lot of retired riders who want to keep riding but would like a safe 3 wheeler, the Ural is the only one that puts the rider in a safe place on the road, trikes you are sitting where you can't see around large trucks and buses, and you do not want your front wheel on the slipper part of the road, Could you please give us a safe option with 3 wheels. WE NEED A URAL DEALER ON PEI.

When making vids like this, I suggest you stay away from white towels as they cause whatever is being show to wash out in the video. Use a brown towel and the part will then stand out as the camera adjust the f-stop to the lower light conditions.
