He was a very skilled craftsman, could be an engineer if he had pursued that career path - entered the Soviet navy at the age of 14. He was a very talented man. Died in the early 90's of a stroke, outliving his mother by a mere 3 years, a hard worker he was.
Give the engine more spark advance by filing the contact system to rotate more degrees. . If you want remove the cylinder , larthe machine it to raise the compression about 2 mm from top of cylinder
@@buddyrojek9417 I overlooked the fact I had replaced the carbs and hadn't set them up. Starts good and runs real nice now. Thank you for the advise though I have another with a standard ignition so I'll bear that one in mind.
@@philtobin9510 you need more advance and compression because they were designed to run on 78 octane . In Ukraine the minimum is now 95. If the cylinders have any wear the oil does not run down, puddles on the bottom and you get fouled plugs. Had to be super hot , the hottest plugs available won’t help
I'm Portuguese and I have a Dnepr MT16. 1. Recently replaced the pistons with new rings. The cylinders were in very good condition. 2.I noticed that when I started, the engine "seized" after 2 to 3 minutes. Before grabbing it there was a noise from the bottom of the engine. It was a continuous and discrete noise. Then the engine stopped. 3.I would like to know your opinion. Note: the pistons are very tight and the segments had to be worked to get 0.05 of clearance. Supposedly they have the original measurements. Bearings stuck? Connecting rod covers? Oil pump? Thank you very much
What sort of rebuild was that? The pistons were so clean they hadn't been used ones and you put it back together with the same amount of rust in the flywheel than in the start.
Не почищен коленвал, не замерен износ на вкладышах, ничего не сделал с клапанами. Это все самое важное, ради чего стоит разбирать этот двигатель. з.ы. ХА, в конце заметил ,что заводил на к68 карбюраторах, а по ходу видео ставил китайские))
Ten silnik bedzie miał słabe ciśnienie oleju i szlifowanie pompy nic nie da. Zeby ten silnik działał i nie zatarł sie za szybko trzeba uszczelnić wał korbwy.pozdrawiam
Nie sprawdzał panewek na wale korbowym ani skrzyni biegów. Nie wyczyścił koła zamachowego od strony sprzęgła . Rozmontował , wymienił tylko tłoki i pierścienie i zmontował. Uszczelki z kleju ! Bez żadnych regulacji np. zaworów . To ma być remont?
Can you tell me what oil you put into the engine? I was looking on the internet and people are saying that 15W40 or 20W50 but I wanted to be sure before I put one in.

Good job but it is better to put oil everywhere for the first start especialy around pistons, rings and cylinders 😉
Better even assembly lube, an oil meant for break-in protection.

Just simply very glad that I am working on an authentic BMW R60/2 , a true quality unit.
Amsoil makes “old car oil” with the zinc in it for older engines with flat cam lifters

Widze na filmie ze cisnienie oleju to około 2,5psi ,tylko że po rozgrzaniu bedzie miał 1psi.warto pomysleć o uszczelnieniu wału korbowego.

Agree. They clog with dirt and lose oil pressure and crank seized at the connecting rod.
