I bought a new S90 and as my first Volvo after having many BMW and Mercedes, I am really impressed by the S90 drive, comfort and build quality much better than the German rivals, i can't see me going back to anything else again, i know its only a couple of months old and still has the new car factor but its amazing to drive long distance or short trips too.
Just bought a 2019 Volvo S90 Inscription Pro D4 with 33,000 miles on the clock. This is my first Volvo having had VW and my last car was a Mercedes Benz E220 Coupe. I have to say, the Volvo is superior in terms of ride, build quality, equipment and finishing. I doubt I'll buy a car from another manufacturer again.
I don't understand why most of the people say that the rear is not good looking.I especially like the rear of that car.Amazing interior and exterior.BMW's interior is already boring.Might be fun to drive, but i doubt is comfortable as the S90.This is the car i want and i will buy it after 2 years :))) Volvo S90!
It is always nice to see Volvo among the sea of German cars! They are literally on every corner in 90% of Europe... Volvo S90 and Infiniti Q60 would be my choice. They are beautiful, elegant and rare. Moreover, "problematic" people usually avoid them :) Regards
Jaguar was one of my favorite manufacturer until they were traditionally designed! Nowadays, they have lost their characteristic look and blend into the crowd... I would say that S90 looks better than XF. Regards
I agree. F-Pace is cool, however there is the new Velar (on th esame platform) which is spectacular. :) Actual generation of the XJ is still great... F-Type speaks for itself, too bad that XK is discounted. Regards
Ooo, good point. Drove the XJ last year, dont think i will ever drive anything as luxurious as that again in my life. Shame the bank account will probably never afford it
Every time I hear a reviewer tell us that a manufacturer makes petrol versions but they are not available in the UK I want to know why, in this case there's a hybrid too, but no we can't have that either. Why not ? We get the hybrid T8 & Petrol T6 versions of the big new XC90 so why not the s90 & V90 ? Why ??????
Just ordered this car in osmium grey.. really looking forward to it arriving. Been driving Mercedes but at the lower end.. Volvo is a cruiser and with the miles I'm doing I can't wait.
@@marts5555 I love it.. great if you are doing alot of long distance driving. The voice control system is shit.. it just doesn't understand you half the time. But the drive is amazing. Also the pilot assist is frustrating as it bleeps at you every 15 seconds if you have your hands off the wheel. But tbh you shouldnt have your hands off anyway lol.. gear box is delightful , i have the auto.. engine is full of torque and i have the d4 r design .. 190 bhp.. its quick enough but no sports car.. im very pleased overall.. much better than a C class .. It's not quite as good as an E series Merc.. But I'd say not far off. Always get comments on how pretty it is. It's a lovely looking car.. big but beautiful.
I would take it just because it is cooler car. In some segments it could be slightly better or not comparing to major rivals but it doesn't matter so much.
Volvo may have loads of safety gismos on this car, but they've forgotten some of the basics. Having to concentrate on a flashy screen to adjust essential things such as climate control? Not a good idea. Thankfully some of its rivals are sticking with the at-a-glance controllability of a seperate 3 dial system.
I currently drive a 2001 s60 2.4 liter turbo fwd volvo, and it seems it would have about the same acceleration as this new one. I really like the way the s90 looks but the rear looks quite bland maybe next year they might improve the design. As for seating, it does look a lot more spacey in the rear than my s60 which is like you can have passengers but they're going to feel like sardines if they are in the back
Excellent cabin and refinement. The whole point about the S90/V90 is Volvo are doing ‘their’ thing and are simply not interested in the German 0-60 in 3 seconds brigade. Volvo has their market and it’s growing. If you want speed and class to rival the M3/5 go for the Alfa Giulia 👍, or something more refined with understated class then it’s the S90.
in terms of motors and equipment it's probably not. But I still prefer the Volvo. The S90/V90/XC90 are the epitome of solid build-quality, timeless characteristical design and uniqueness. I would take this over the XF, CTS, GS, 5 series and A6. Couldn't decide between this and the E-Class though.
We think the Volvo has that extra 'likeability' factor you don't get with certain rivals too, it's underdog status and excellent reliability help it out too.
pipsicle Volvos have the lowest reliability scores of the three, link at the end, looks are subjective but I think the E class is also beautiful. While the interior is nice in the lighter colors, it isn't as special as the E class. Finally, all cars are equally comfortable and can vary depending on options. Differences in safety are negligible, as all 3 are extremely safe. Based on crash data in the U.S., the E class has been amongst the safest in real world crashes for many years. Service fees also vary depending on market, but there usually isn't much of a difference between these brands. www.consumerreports.org/car-reliability/car-brands-reliability-how-they-stack-up/
This car rear design is so horrible that I wouldn't consider it one bit. Dope interior design and nice front and side exterior design. The rear is so damn ugly though.

Currently thinking about it...its very big, what are you thinking a few months on?
David Kane it’s dirt cheap aswell for the class of vehicle it’s in
But are you still enjoying it?
No problems?
What about the size?
@@davidkane1658 it is great got XC90 and S90

As Jeremy Clarkson puts it, the S90 has the best interior today this side of a Rolls Royce. That's certainly high praise!
I have a lincoln and its interior would disagree.
^ lmfao

Well, did u buy it?
The rear of the s90 is something special very uniq agressive
I'd have the Volvo V90 over any other car in it's class. Not really keen on the rear of the S90, but that colour is stunning!
This Volvo S90 much2 better than 5 series, lets's make Volvo great again!!
#RIPMERC.
Moon Light they're not even in the same class

Fair point. I personally prefer their new looks, especially the f pace. I think I would choose the v90 over the XF but the FPace over the XC60 :)

Decent small review, liked it.
Volvo S90/V90/V90CC are the real deal, I would choose them over the german trio.
the new volvos design is insane
Nothing better than a volvo nothing has come close to volvo for a long time
Yes, I love my '90 740! Lol
Great Video Review and I like the R-Design Trim
Very beatiful rear side its uniq diffrent agressive
Got one being delivered in a couple of days. No more German whips for me.
agree with you... after 25 years with VW, this is real refreshment...

Nicholas Bell you use voice control !
One can change many things including temperature etc. by voice control
Just about everything, Inc satnav, is controllable by voice

I don't know why but I prefer the looks of Volvo cars from the 1990's to ~2006. I guess I just like their boxy design.
That's interesting because Volvo ended with boxy design in the 90's.
Much much much better than the German trio

That means is good designed. When common folks spit on the design it means it's good.

That rear tho..
Swedish Tank

pilot drive.....scary. ...sitting there on full alert...not my cup of tea !
Yeah, basically just sitting there waiting for something bad to happen! And given enough time it will! Better wear diapers! Lol

Volvo ! Nuff said

The Mercedes E-Class and the new BMW 5 series are way better in every point, except the price maybe.
Better in every point. Apart from design, comfort, styling, reliability, running costs and safety.
