What I find sad about Doms death is that Cole and Baird weren't even there. The OG squad that had been together for years on the most insane missions. And during deltas mission, Baird and cole meet their old squad and eventually finding out from Paduk that Sophia was dead. Then coming back and finding out that Dom was dead.
I didn't make that parallel mostly because I play Judgement particularly Aftermath after 3. So really Baird and Cole were already not in the best mood. Then the news about Dom hits. This drama, tension and grief are solely missing in the Collation games. Another reason their games are far and away inferior.

To explain how Adam knew Myrrah before E-Day, Adams wife was exploring the hollow when she came across the Locust. She had written notes and was planning on telling the world about them, but before she could, she was captured and executed. Adam, trying to find his wife, followed her trail and was met with the locust, where he had a meeting with Myrrah. She explained they were at war with lambecy and that they had no other choice but to invade the surface. Adam, not wanting a gnlenocide, convinced her to stay in the Hallow so he could create the device he finished at the end of Gears of War 3. Before he could, the Pendulum wars were still ongoing, and they pressured him into creating the Hammer of Dawn, which made it impossible for him to help the Locust. This inevitably lead to them invading the surface.
Not to mention that the device still wasn't finished yet, since it would also damage the locust as well, not just the imulsion. But he was never ever to properly fine tune it so that the locust would be spared. And well, we all know how that turned out
also just for more info RAAM also pushed for invading the surface much earlier by letting the lambit take control of the hollow to force queen Myrrah to invade.

when they fall through the ship Dom was the only one that almost died in the fire, and he dies in a fire later on in the story so that might just be foreshadowing his death but that's just what I think.
Unlike Gears 1 and 2, of which I fell in love with almost immediately, I think it took me some time to truly appreciate Gears of War 3. I used to think Lambent Contingency was the biggest cop out to end the trilogy because they somehow managed to destroy both the Locust and Lambent in one foul swoop, and while I still don't love it as a plot device, I do really like how the road to get to Azura was a long and hard fought one, with significant losses along the way for our heroes (Dom's death never fails to make me tear up every time I see it). And even when they get to Azura, you really feel like Delta Squad is putting everything they got into getting the Contingency plan going, and even when they finally succeed, it truly feels like a bitter sweet ending; sure, humanity won, but that won't bring back their loved ones and it will take decades for the COG to get back to normalcy (if indeed it could ever be the same, again) perfectly encapsulated in Marcus and Anya's final scene together. While I still believe Gears of War 2 to be the stronger of the two narratively (Gears 3 is way too damn reliant on you having read the books to know what's going on), I still think it was a good way to end the trilogy. :) And that's not even including the sick ass multiplayer modes, especially Beast Mode and the new and improved Horde Mode from 2! XD
Gears 3 is in my opinion the best gears of war game overall because every aspect of the game was great. The story was awesome and the multiplayer was the best in the series from the progression system to the gameplay, and the medals gave us some great rewards and some challenges that made the game even better. The horde 2.0 added some new features like a fortification system that was really cool. Then we got beast mode a new game mode that allows us to play as some of the coolest locust characters in the series like the berserker, or the serapede. Overall legendary experience that was one of the best games on the 360. Also, great videos! I love the gears summery vids. You’ve got yourself another subscriber 👍
Gears 3 was the first and only video game I liked to play and beat. Thought the way the story ended was amazing but honestly when I played the first and second I began to fall in love with them simply cuz the missions were less linear and so different. Playing the third game felt like I was playing a cod campaign. However, I still love gears three and I loved the new features, great online gameplay that u can play for HOURS and not get bored. Most of all that stuck with me was the cover system, fun modes, and the gnarly ass characters dude. Gears is one of the best things epic has ever created
Not sure if it's already been said but you get let into that "Armory" thing at 40:55 for not running into/destroying any of the Ash statues/peoples remains in Char before taking the elevator.

Man i used to have the pre order cole train football skin i think it came with the pre order or the midnight release. That game was my life for years much love for Gears *EDIT* - if you played the beta which you got access to through pre ordering the game, you had to either do challenges to unlock the character’s or something like that or win matches during certain weeks of the beta iirc. Man those were the days sprinting off the bus just run home and play gears with my dad after work

Thanks bro! And yeah man Ive been needing to take the time to read those books, Ive gotten most info about the books so far from wikis haha
0:18 Your dream has become true, almost a year later
51:47 maybe he did catch the leviathan on sonar, but the river is not super deep like the ocean. I bet the massive shape just blended with the ground and rocks until it started moving when you got close
Awesome video man!
I fondly remember the beta for Gears 3 and getting the Gold Retro Lancer skin. That thing was such a flex back in the day!
🤣Dogg these quick subtle race card bits quietly sliding in the commentary has me crying
I don't know if u mentioned but at anvil gate you can stop the locust from destroying the other gates (expect the scripted one)
This is very late and probably not too worth mentioning but if you get close to a armored kantus with a drag in your hand and tap the “B” button you’ll stick the kantus with the frag and one shot it, even if it’s not screaming at you
Ahh, I'll have to try that then!
The perfect end to a series. Peace is achieved despite hardship and the future is bright. Thanks Gears 4 and 5 for ruining that....
when they fall through the ship Dom was the only one that almost died in the fire, and he dies in a fire later on in the story so that might just be foreshadowing his death but that's just what I think.
Interesting, never saw it that way before but thats a good observation
@@willmelvin2351something I noticed playing through the game again Adam says it'll harm the locust he didn't say it would kill them
This series should have ended with 3…
And I stand by that to this day.
I almost agree with you man
Bro I can’t wait for you to review the final two games
The future of Gears will never be as good as the first three games 😢
And that's not even including the sick ass multiplayer modes, especially Beast Mode and the new and improved Horde Mode from 2! XD
What are your thoughts on gears 4 and 5 as well as judgement?
We're so back bros...
Watched every minute. Love this series and also wishing for a Fenix collection. On PC too hopefully! Awesome video, really.
This man deserves a sub
The good ole days, when we only had to wait a few years for a sequel.
Wonderful job, you've earned yourself a subscriber.
Thank you!
Damn you're whole reviews on the gears of war trilogy is just peak
Appreciate it!
"after Microsoft got money hungry"
Do you know what company you're talking about? They were money hungry decades before the word Xbox was ever uttered
True lol
Proud Kantus enjoyer, all the revives were worth it.
Doms death had me in tears and I did not touch the game in a week in order to get over his death.
10:50 he was tending to his radishes, not tomatoes 😂
Ahhhh youre right lmao, the tomatoes are outside I think.
Rewatching Gears 3 content, and gotta say, it definitely has some weird instant fail bugs at times
Awesome vid, thanks for goving a real look into whats prob my favourite 3rd person shooter ever
I really want a fenix collection! i played and finished this series as a teenager. Now my own son is almost a teenager and to be able to play this series with him on split screen co-op would be amazing
E DAY BABYYYYYYYYYYYY
Dom’s story is so sad :/
Fr fr
Great video for sure
Thanks! Appreciate it.
It may have taken about a year but I’m happy to say Gears E day has been announced
This video is a masterpiece, subbed
Man i used to have the pre order cole train football skin i think it came with the pre order or the midnight release. That game was my life for years much love for Gears
*EDIT* - if you played the beta which you got access to through pre ordering the game, you had to either do challenges to unlock the character’s or something like that or win matches during certain weeks of the beta iirc. Man those were the days sprinting off the bus just run home and play gears with my dad after work
Been waiting!
The story is on par with many games that are out today
The books explain everything on how Adam knows the queen way before the war
Hey, I've been watching your Gears analysis videos and I just gotta say they're great!
You're making me think about and question things that I don't remember doing when I was younger, and overall it's just a huge nostalgia trip, especially with Gears 2.
Just one observation, the game clips scattered through your videos are significantly louder than the rest of the narration :o just a personal comment, since at times I had to turn down the volume a lot.
Your channel has a lot of potential c: I wish you luck!
Ah yeah gotta get better with audio balancing, thanks for the feedback glad you enjoyed it!!
Fam, after watching this video series of yours I'd be honored to run some horde with you. 👍🏽👍🏽
Yeah man sounds cool, been getting alot of people asking the same, might try it with a group sometime
@@willmelvin2351 you a real one chief.
I remember playing the beta (literally i was only 10 yrs old lol) and unlocking the flame weapon skins and cole train for retail. Too bad my sister owns my old account now :P
