This game is fine. I don’t understand all the hate it gets. Idk what else they could’ve done to create a new conflict and get the story going. . They didn’t execute it perfectly but not that bad either. The characters are ok. JD and Del are decent Kate is a bit cliche strong women with a chip on her shoulder. All in all am enjoyable game

They were blind that they wrote kait to project her self on Jd because they don't even see projections in themselves, they can't write good stories coz they do it for money like faz just taking orders lol

People are always so angry because Kait was eventually the lead and I don’t get why. Leaving gears 3 there was still a mystery behind the locust and how they got their queen Baird even has a line in the elevator shaft something like “she doesn’t look human, did she join the locust for shits and giggles or something.” And to get that explanation gears 5 really did it well so I don’t think the characters are the problem. The problem is the vibe of the game and the horror aspects being gone. We used to roam the empty creepy city’s years after and during emergence day but in gears 5 we roam barren wastelands and it ruins the feel of gears.

Wont lie, this games multiplayer has some dope skins and characters. Ketor Vrol, Rager, Hunter, Warden, Crimson Skorge, Ravager Grenadier, Lambent, COG Commandos, Hollow Storm Clayton & Sam and several more. And Karn. We were robbed of not being able to play him in judgement.

By the way, if you really love Steve Jablonsky's music, I recommend checking his tracks for the Michael Bay movies. He is a close partner of his and somehow, Bay manages to pull all of the creative juices out of Jablonsky everytime they are together. His Transformers tracks for example are awesome, all 5 movies, its crazy. He also worked in "Ender's Game" and its soundtrack is just beautiful.

The worst thing that can happen to any franchise : no definitive end. At that point, maybe just blow up the planet for real. I was excited for Gears OF WAR 6 (not skipping) but after 5 got me bored as hell, horde mode (my favorite mode) got me mad as hell and everything surrounding actual Microsoft and the dev team, I'm not even trying looking at the next game. Not E-day, not 6 nothing. I almost prefer that no game get out. And for the love of god, don't make that military shooter a god damn RPG in the campain !

The new Locust origin also doesn't make a lot of sense (its a retcon).... I mean, the Locust were a full fledged society, with fully developed institutions, religions, architecture, language, morals, complex hierarchy, they built all of that, in just 30 to 50 years??? When the Locust where always there in the hollow, it made way more sense... Like Myrrah says in her quotes, that Sera is rightfully theirs, since they are pretty much born from the planet itself.

I mean, that hammer of dawn failure scene doesn't make any sense, you could say that the targetting could be off, but... Whats does that have to do the "trigger"? Shit went bad with the hammer only for narrative reasons, a huge convenience.

Lancer with a boom shot and gorgan pistol with a shield was always my setup for horde on gears 2.

imma be real the story telling was simply god awful from 3 to 4 (judgment was good story wise but still was filled with bs) from the previous og games the story was actually pretty realistic and straight forward because it was war themed on grand scales moving and taking out key objectives to weaken and destroy the locust or lambant ie through killing the worm taking out AA guns to taking out leaders in the factions or delivering intel, actual real war things you know like the name suggest gears of WAR, now its gears of mommy and daddy issues and concsious swapping. the game is now more of a soap opera sitcom than a game about war and the tolls of WAR like gears of WAR. idk why i have to emphasize this but apparently the devs dont get it so idk anymore. the only thing the new games have going is a pretty good character relationships between jd and marcus and the things like that but the main story telling is just sad. im also not criticizing the gameplay and visuals or even the swarm i think those aspects are generally pretty well done.

Now thinking about it they could have done a romance between Kait and jd. Just like how they teased with Marcus and Anya they could have shown this relationship and how it bloomed. Kait could have been more than just royalty she could have been caring for those around her by showing that towards jd,del,people outside of the walls, etc. she could of been the opposite of her grandma instead of being evil she was good and could of possibly be the key for peace between the locust and humans. In the end they are the same.

I watched the first 40 seconds and i can say straight away that you're wrong! Multiplayer is what made people leave the game. i had a community of 30 that we've played every gears game since 2006 and we all left within 6 months of the games release. Multiplayer is what keeps people hooked! The multiplayer was casualized beyond belief. Stupid rapid fire lancer with mortars LoLz crazy high damage shotgun with crazy range . Hella aim assist and adhesion that felt like everyone was a gnasher and longshot god! Not to mention the abysmal maps such as that crappy snow one and the terrible, terrible characters such as that skinny robot and not forgetting the commando knifing. The game was an absolute car crash out the gate and i have zero faith in eday . They'll probably end up putting cole train in a dress and Dominic with pronouns. Rip gears

“To show its more than just a dude bro shooter” that’s the problem though, buddy. Gears of war trilogy is as incredible as it is because it’s a dude bro shooter. Those are its roots. Nerfing it into a story about women and motherhood does not fit. Gears is at its best when it has the testosterone that the original trilogy has.

I liked Gears 5 a lot more than 4 but neither come anywhere close to the OG trilogy for me. Very excited for E-Day tho
