It absolutely is, so is TXR3. I play them both still and very much enjoy them. These are honestly my favorite racing games of all time. Most of that is probably nostalgia but hey there aren’t any racing games quite like this series that exist.
i was playing this last month but i got stuck and gave up. I beat about 30 rivals and now no new ones are popping up on the track. I have to keep re-racing ones ive beaten so i can get challenged by their leaders. Theyre usually WAY faster than me so i cant beat them. Even tried upgrading to a better car but still same thing. any tips?
1. Buy the Dodge Viper (Type-VGTS, A-class). When fully upgraded, it is a tough car to drive, but it is fast enough to beat most all bosses, until you get the Speed King's Skyline. 2. You might not have known, but you can get even better upgrades, if you drive your car for long enough of a distance. You need to drive about 1860 miles to get the level 7 engine, level 8 exhaust and level 5 body tune. Those will make your car unstoppable. 3. Your car's performance suffers throughout the night. I can't quite remember the exact numbers, but you should start seeing noticeable power loss at around 100+ miles. Just return to your garage at 50 miles or more. 4. Take advantage of dirty tactics. Start your races at places where you can ram your opponent into a wall or an intersection, bringing them to a dead stop. Try to block them from trying to pass you. Also, if you are on an emulator, use savestates to reload a savestate in a time, where you were starting your race in a favourable position.

I don't remember the specifics, but I did grind to get the parts you get at 1800 miles or something. That and I adjusted the gears so I reach the speed limit of 263 mph at an optimal RPM. If your goal is to just beat him tho, get him to challenge you at the C1 loop.
Beat conan the barbarian, he is a wanderer, but he has one of the fastest cars in the game. My dad told me this, and I've beaten the game mutiple times
TXR3 is a bigger game. It has the same city as this game with an expansion as well + TXR3 has Osaka and Nagoya to drive in with their own opponents. It has licensed cars, more tuning options, livery editor, more realistic physics and better graphics. I still prefer TXR0 though, because TXR0 has a better soundtrack and the cars are faster and grippier. If you had to pick one, most people would probably go with TXR3, but I recommend playing both.
@@sauce2097 i played 0 few years ago and inlocked skyline- it was good but i forget why i stopped playing.Its funny because i read somewhere that zero had worse handling and cars in 3 had more grip, i looked at some videos and its cool that 3 has licensed names for cars but hondas are missing, i dont care about engine swaps and i dont think the whole oil temperature gauges and tires wear is interesting in 3,on top of not brign able to complete the game without cheat engine. Ill probably dig up zero again and play that, i found the case but idk where disc is and i gotta break my back and carry the crt from the shed onto the house which will be fun
You need PCSX2 (a PS2 emulator for PC) and then you need an ISO file for this game (you can get that either from the original game disc or by downloading from the internet)

Buy the EVO and Subaru and you can pretty much beat the game with those cars only, lol. Lots of tuning to get it just right.
