Here is the original intro of Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero (Shutokou Battle Zero)
I use the original intro quality and upscale it into 4K using AI upscaler and adobe after effect.

This intro still fires me up and gives me goosebumps 18 years later. Along with the TXR3 intro. That element of danger. The TXR drift intros started getting more friendly music which made them less intimidating and threatening.

Dude, an open-world racing game set in Japan in this era at night would be so epic. Player-created teams, highway and touge areas, real police presence, all that. It'd be like Forza Horizon meets Initial D and Wangan Midnight. But the important thing is really drilling into this time and place - absolutely no Bugattis.
I ABSOLUTELY love this game! And I still have this and Xtreme racer 3 on my PS2 till this day!

That V6 sound of NSX is so orgasmic
The most accurate sounding nsx during it's time and still sounds just like the real thing.
This game the whole series was so underrated it didn’t get the credit it deserved not one friend has never heard of this game it blows my mind.
Racing Wangan is like pure aggresion on Top Speed, Meanhile, Racing Togue is like pure control on harmony around those corners yet still quick
I love how different the two disciplines are. Wangan required the BEST powertrain sorting ever in terms of cooling and oiling, and Dakar-like suspension to deal with hitting expansion joints at 300kph+. But then if you bring some monster Midnight GT-R to the touge, it'll get eaten alive on the downhill by a single-cam EG Civic 3-wheeling on semi-slicks. It's so cool that they both went SO HARD in the same country at the same time.
This was the best intro to one of my favorite games as a child. Still get goosebumps listening to the intro today :D. Thanks for this.

I just wish the song was available somewhere but I think it was made specifically for the intro segment.
Actually there is an OST that exist which i had as well. But this song was specially made for the intro yes.

@@blurout The song in the intro was specially made for the intro, so it's doesn't exist on the original OST. But you had all the music that appear inside the game on the OST, you can find it online easy by typing "tokyo xtreme racer zero OST". If you are interested to buy a physical copy of it, it's extremly hard to find because only a few was made. I still had a copy of it on my collection that i bought long time ago.

I think there's more imminent problems than the speed limit in this frame. For instance, the open door indicator is illuminated. That is bad at any speed, but at 110km/h it's very bad.

We need a modern version of the TXR series as Maximune Tune is kinda linear.
Also we can clearly see the z roaming in some scene very mysteriously

Always hated how amazing the cars sound in the intro vs them sounding like diesel busses in game. The skyline is the best sounding skyline.

I just finished watching all of your 4K remasters of the PS2 era of Tokyo Xtreme Racer and I have to say, well done! It brought back so many great childhood memories.
However, I'm utterly shocked that you haven't done a remaster of Racing Battle: C1 Grand Prix's intro yet. That's my favorite of them all and not seeing a 4K version is just criminal. Any chance you could do that in the near future?

I managed to find and buy a copy of Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero just a couple of days ago. I thought i'd give it a shot because i played a lot of Shutokou Battle 01 (NTSC-J TXR3) on emulator because the PAL version is unbeatable. TXR0 is also going to have it's 20th anniversary very soon and even though it's impossible i would love a remake of this game.

This game annoyed me as a kid but it’s a game that requires patience. Playin this as an adult is a whole new thing lol as a kid I bought the civic and couldn’t progress cuz it was just too slow. Now I got the r32, gc8 Impreza, ce9a Evo (which was my starter car and prolly the best one), Dodge Viper, Lexus GS430, R34 and the Z32. If you’re starting this for the first time or restarting the game, start with the CE9A it’s fasho best way to progress quicker
It annoyed me as a kid as well because I never knew the requirements for certain wanderers and It took me years to finish it then I had to finish it again because I lost the game data,it is truly one of my fave racing games ever its just so good

Yep,after the race the car would be on autopilot until you were ready. I use to leave the in auto pilot. I would either go do chores, play ball, go to sleep, or go to school etc. Once you reach over a certain amount of miles I believe it was 100k or 200k miles on the engine you could buy another engine/ swap and for some reason that Toyota supra engine was the best but imagine putting a skyline engine in a Toyota celica 💀😎scarey. They would let put any engine in any vehicle they had. Ngl one of my best racing games I've ever played
