We are scheduled for our first ever cruise to Alaska on Silversea Muse in September. Thank you for this video- it was very helpful in knowing what to expect with the Butler we will have.
Recently the butlers have been less proactive. I would just ask for some fun stuff from them upon boarding. if you like a certain brand of wine or drink just ask. Once they get to know you they are great! Have a great cruise.
Thank you for your wonderful video. I’m taking Silversea Silver muse in January. One seasoned video expert commented that since Silversea was bought out by rccl you need to communicate all desired services upfront. Did you find this to be the case? Looking forward to no crowds, no nickel & diming, & top shelf customer service.
Thanks for the video. I just booked our first Silversea Cruise, and I said to my husband, “what am I going to do with a butler?” Your video was very helpful.
HOW MUCH do You think is the right level of tipping a good butler and cabin attendant? Would U$D 20 per week be sufficient ? I am wondering because we got the tips included in our cruise , so extra tip should be an sign of EXTRA appreciation, at least in my opinion . What are Your thoughts on this matter, expressed in numbers ?
You can ask your travel professions to put the request in or the easy way is once you arrive your butler will come to meet you. At that time you can discuss your preferences for drinks and everything else.
Great question. We have always had good butlers and tipped. I don't recall if we had a fixed amount . There are others I have talked to that feel that they don't need to tip. As always tipping is optional.
I just read about tipping on all exclusive, high end cruises. Though, I also like showing my gratitude to those who go above and beyond. The author stated, when people ask the “do I, do I not question” her reply is, you do not have to, it’s not expected of you. However, she added, if decide no to, you can always leave a note of gratitude. I think the gesture of a handwritten note expressing one’s gratitude is such a lovely touch…… Now I’ll feel guilty if I don’t do both…😂❤
I really like Indochine. If you ask your butler they will bring you caviar to your suite everyday. There is also caviar on the menu at atlantide. The grill is fun if the weather is nice. Recently I started asking the chef to cook our food for us. they did a much better job. Have a great cruise.
Personally my wife and I would not need a butler. The only time I could see one being useful is when you want a dinner or a show reservation when there are no open reservations, possibly they could get you a reservation. I would just have the stateroom attendant set the stateroom up to my preferences.
We got none of the questions you first mentioned. We rarely saw our butler. He had too many rooms to service. Never brought the booze we wanted. The mini fridge had 1 coke, 1 beer,1 tonic water. Spoke to the leed butler, got some snacks. After cruise, we were offered future cruise discount of 1,000$. For a $30,000 cruise. Not our choice again
That is what I was thinking, if the butler has a lot of staterooms to service, then he or she definitely will not have time for you, especially if one or more staterooms are extremely needy and too lazy to anything for themselves. Personally I do not see myself or my wife using a butler.
Sorry to hear that. We have had great luck with our butlers. Last week I mentioned to our butler that i smelled popcorn. Magically every night some appeared!
hi all, i am intending to make a silversea excursion cruise booking in the next few days, please contact me if you are a Venetian society member and wants to refer me to Silversea so that both of us gets a bonus 500 bucks credit.

What a great explanation, Discover the secrets behind Silversea Butler's unparalleled dedication to guest satisfaction
Thanks for watching
Many thanks.
This was a great video. We are leaving in a few days for a Silversea cruise and have been puzzling over what our butler would do for us.
Have an amazing time. It is always great to talk with your butlers and get to know more about them as well.
@@keithwibel6195 Gary Bainbridge does outstanding videos and features one specifically for what Butlers do and do not do aboard silver sea.
I had no idea butlers on cruises did so much. Thanks for sharing this video.
The Silversea butlers are amazing!

I am just back from the Endevour and have not found that. I have found that as you need help they will do their best to help.

Have a great trip. I am leaving for the Dawn in December.
Great info, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Do they clean canvas shoes?
They always clean my sunglasses while I am at dinner. It is one of the little things that sets Silver Sea apart from any other cruise.
yes and they always wrap my gadget cords with nice little velcro.
Thanks for great explanation, I think we should TIP them respectfully for such a more jobs .
I didn’t realize the butler was on top of a stateroom attendant. How do you request your beverages prior to embarking?
You can ask your travel professions to put the request in or the easy way is once you arrive your butler will come to meet you. At that time you can discuss your preferences for drinks and everything else.
If one wants to tip the butler and housekeeping, does one tip in U.S. dollars? Thanks!
I have tipped in usd or when we were in Europe with euro
Plz share the information about where the butler's job starts in the cruise ship ?
Rohit as soon as you get to your suite the Butlers typically come to meet you and let you know what they do.
@@luxurycruisetips thank you
How much is the appropriate amount to tip the butler? Considering the gratuity is included already.

Room service breakfast was cold
We booked Silverspirit Southampton to Lisbon Sept 20-Oct 4. Haven’t been on a Silversea cruise. Dining recommendations? Caviar, really?

All the restaurants are great but the lobster at Silver Note is phenomenal, I ordered seconds 😂

Raise your camera or laptop up so we are not looking up your nose. Put the camera on books or something.
