Thank you so much for watching this video! What an incredible adventure this was. If you've read this far... comments 'magical laundry machine' so I know! 😂😂😂 This video is just one in a series! Check out the next one here (where you'll get to see all the amazing places we visited). This is on the Norwegian Cruise Line UA-cam channel so pretty pretty please let them know that I sent you!! ua-cam.com/video/I9mXIEU7ilg/v-deo.htmlsi=GEJ9JkwEJniGOf5E 🥰🥳
Magic. Laundry. Machine. Absolutely loved this video covering the ship and the Japan sites you visited. All I can say is... Arigatou Gozaimashita. Mata ne!
Canadian here . ..I personally would try to talk with as many strangers as possible...and the pool...but probably wouldn't get my money's worth since as a diabetic, I tend to eat smaller regularly scheduled portions and NO sweets and drink only water and coffee (no alcohol ) but I'd still have so much fun.
We did a Japan cruise back in September on the Celebrity Millennium. It was amazing. You are so right about the Japanese toilets. We were on an excursion, and the tour guide was giving us the run down of where we were going and she said, "There are toilets at our first stop, but they're not very clean. You can use them, but there are better toilets at our second stop . . ." As an American, let me tell you the Japanese idea of a "not very clean" public toilet is wildly different from an American "not very clean" public toilet. I'm not saying I'd eat off the floor of a Japanese public toilet, but the worst public toilet is Japan is miles better than the best public toilet in America, where "not very clean" just means no one overdosed or died there that day (or maybe they day before).
Would've obviously liked the video anyway, but specifically stopped what I was doing to like at the exact moment you gave mango chutney the love it deserves!
I love Norwegian Spirit. I took a cruise on her around Alaska in 2004. Then in 2023 I sailed on her again around New Zealand and Australia. The renovation was quite recent at that time and the ship felt very new. Watching your video makes me want to book another cruise on Norwegian Spirit!
@ I see we are both night owls :-) I think the cruises are good for us to get up and going in the mornings. Can’t wait to see your review of your cabin!
I've been watching you for a couple of years now since I am addicted to cruises and it's always super enjoyable! It's getting me super excited for my cruise in November on Carnival's Mardi Gras!
@EmmaCruises OMG I will! It's for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and they wanted the whole family to come and my mom and my brother will have their birthday while on the ship so there will be a lot to celebrate!
Great video Emma! Your enthusiasm for all things cruising is delightful. 🙂 Happy Holidays and I look forward to your 2025 videos. Keep up the great work. 👍
Very interesting to see the changes made to the Spirit. We cruised Rome to the Greek islands aboard the Spirit in 2017 - one of our favourite cruises. Glad to see they changed to the adult pool where the kids play area was. We had almost no kids on our cruise so it sat empty most of the time. Thanks Emma. (A Japan cruise is also on our bucket list!).
Awesome video Emma! I agree with you about Japan: awesome place. ☺️ My husband and I will be going back for the third time in a few months. Also agree about early dinners. Have always been in the early dinner club! 😎
As a Canadian that experience winter 6 months a year I would be outside on the ship all the time. Of course a bar outside would be nice. Merry Christmas Emma..
We actually prefer cruising NOT in the Caribbean. The Caribbean is our last pick for a cruise. Happy you enjoy this and thank you for the review, as we are looking to take this cruise too 😄
The green cake was likely pandan leaf. They’re long leaves that are used for both sweet and savoury dishes. The taste is sometimes compared to vanilla.
Either that or Midori green melon cake. From how green maybe from pandan paste. My mother-in-law made the melon cake every year. She always had me go to the liquor store to buy it though so her neighbors wouldn't see her in a liquor store. :)
Ooh, cruising japan for the second time? How lucky! If you ever want to explore Japan again, you should try out Diamond Princess. A Princess ship with unique features made for the japanese market
This is a lovely ship review! Love seeing this new version of NCL Spirit, thanks! I’m so excited to be on her next year! 😄 I did notice the seats in the 'Blue Lagoon' are taller now 😂, and I’m thrilled about the new spaces, especially Spice H2O. Charlies Champagne Bar was my favorite, and it looks like it’s still there under a new name! 🥂 (Oh, and this should totally be the NCL video! Are they having you do a ship video or just the excursion one? 🤔)
First off I'm Just going to say that Japan is one of my favourite destinations. Three out of my last four trips have been to Japan with a European trip just for a difference. That being said as soon as I saw this Japanese cruise I was interested. I've been wanting to do a cruise but when push came to shove Japan always wins. This cruise will give me a twofer. I've already booked my next month in Japan but before the end of the year this is one the list. I've been to many but not all of the sights you showed but there always more to experience in Japan. Great video. I'm sold.
Going on a cruise to Japan this summer 2025, so great timing. Also happened to go on the Royal Caribbean cruise in Asia around the same time you did your own video. The Asia lines certainly are interesting.
Emma, you should take a Metal cruise like 70,000 Tons of Metal, it'll be an experience for you (bring a friend/family who likes metal) or Monsters of Rock Cruise
Great Video Emma. I would love to visit Japan. As for 7 /11 they are a global brand and even way back in the early 90's there were branches in Hong Kong and yes virtually every street corner. I'm not sure why we don't have them in the UK.
Hi Emma, I'm looking forward to watching this video later on with my husband. We were on the Spirit in October, sailing from Yokohama to Seoul. It was fantastic, and we also enjoyed 3 days in Tokyo beforehand and 5 days in Seoul afterwards. In future we'd love to do a round Japan cruise (our next cruise is on the Spirit in February 2026, from Auckland to Sydney!). We love the Spirit, this was our 3rd time on her.
We have 7-11 in the US, but they're not the same as in Japan. Here they are not known of clenliness and you probably odn't want to buy the food sold there. It's mostly for drinks/snaks, although some of them still sell gas, I think (petrol for you in the UK). On my bucket list is to visit a 7-11 in Japan. :)
Great video thanks Emma! We have just returned from 3 weeks of self touring in Japan and have cruised there a couple of times previously Google translate is our best friend and actually stopped us from eating intestines one night.
Have you ever heard of an Egg Cream? No egg in it. They are great! Basically soda water, milk, simple syrup and vanilla. Invented in New York City in the late 1800 or early 1900, no one can remember, cause their dead. They are very tasty. The drink not the dead people.
Japan is a bucket list destination for me, I'd be facinated by the 7eleven stores too. Sailed Norwegian Joy USA/Canada in September and will be dreaming of this Japan cruise - maybe someday. I felt Norwegian have definitely scaled back the entertainment, only one production number Elements on the Joy.
I took this cruise on Celebrity in August 2024. I hope to be back April or May of 2026. I had an adventure flying out, almost missed the ship. Great video.
Very interesting. I have been thinking about cruising in Japan in 2027 but have been focusing on Holland or Princess. I may look into Norwegian as well.
Thank you so much for this video. We want to book this cruise next year so your review is most helpful. Americans probably hang out at the buffet 24/7 but unsure where Canadians would hang out. Casino? Merry Christmas!🎄☃💕
omg Emma, this is so spooky, earlier today a friend and I was looking at the Spirit when she sales between South Korea and Japan during the summer next year! And then your video pops up today 😀
The Sky is NCL's smallest ship. The net tonnage for Spirit is only smaller than Sky because of the open area in the back. I was on Spirit from Hawaii to New Zealand Nov 2022 to January 2023. I was on NCL Jewel from Bangkok to Tokyo and then Tokyo to Vancouver in spring 2024. I am looking forward to going back to Spirit for Taiwan to Australia in November 2025.
I love your cruise clothes! Would you consider opening a shop with links to similar styles? You could call it Ensign Emma Ensembles! Packing for a cruise is always such a challenge. I'm a cat mamma too & Captain Hudson is a total doll, I love me those yellow tabbies!
Haha, I love that! This post includes all my dresses/outfits and where I got them from (if I know). Hope this helps! emmacruises.com/cruise-dress-examples-everything-i-wear-onboard-emma-cruises/ 🥳❤️
This is one of my bucket list cruises irrespective of the cruise line. I was booked on Diamond Princess for a similar tour, but Covid hit and that was the end of that. (I've heard that Diamond Princess is still having disinfection issues down in Australia and New Zealand.) Japan looks very interesting. I'm still skeptical about your dipping pizza in ketchup, but it can't be worse than California where they put pineapple chunks on as a topping! LOL!
Wow, what a great review! And yes Japanese Toilets AKA Bidets are the BEST. Got one in 2020 and it's the best product I or my wife have ever bought. Shout out to Bio Bidet 2000
Thank you so much for watching this video! What an incredible adventure this was. If you've read this far... comments 'magical laundry machine' so I know! 😂😂😂

Magical laundry machine
Magic. Laundry. Machine. Absolutely loved this video covering the ship and the Japan sites you visited. All I can say is... Arigatou Gozaimashita. Mata ne!
Magic Laundry Machine! Hmm .. mango chutney & poppadoms.
Another fantastic video.
Was this the superstar Virgo at one stage?
"In Japan you don't have to do anything for it to be the best day of your life."
True words right there.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for another excellent year of watching your great videos, Emma. Your shows aways brighten my day!
You are so so kind. Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Thanks for the glimpse.
Sorry to say that the Australian flag is incorrect..
That's the Kiwi flag !!
I’ll let my editor know, Thank you! 😁❤️

If the weather is nice, you’ll find Canadians by the pool. If you’ve ever tried to start a car at -40 degrees, you’ll know why.
Haha, love that! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
So glad this just dropped. Keeps me thoroughly entertained while I work and wish I was on a cruise.
Thanks so so much! Hope your day at work is okay. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises It's better now. Though, to be fair, I work at home in my pajamas, so it could be worse. Merry Christmas!
@@TidustheAlmighty Ha ha, I love that! Most my work I do in my pyjamas too. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏼
Magical laundry machine, Merry Christmas, Emma!
As an American, I would say Americans were near the food! LOL!
😂😂😂😂
@EmmaCruises OMG!! I feel seen by the @EmmaCruises!! Day made! Have a Happy Christmas and lovely 2025! I thoroughly enjoy your videos!
@ haha!! Thanks so much!! To you too! 😁❤️
Would've obviously liked the video anyway, but specifically stopped what I was doing to like at the exact moment you gave mango chutney the love it deserves!
Haha!! I looove it. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
You were fortunate that this November was unseasonably warm here.
LOVE your vids!!
Awwwh love that so much!! Thank you! 😁❤️
Japan is definitely one of the places we would like to cruise one day and this video just makes us want to take that cruise.
Do it do it!’ 😇❤️
Thank you Emma for another great video! Merry Christmas 🎄☃️🎄from Norway.
The Behind the scenes tours are SO interesting, highly recommend it.
Soooooo much!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Been to Japan and loved it. Been on a cruise and loved it. Can't wait to see this whole video.
Thanks so much!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Great video Emma. You covered it all, and very informative! 👏👏👏
Your videos are really amazing to watch. Your journey inspires me to travel around the world. Keep travelling
Thank you so so much, if you were ever in doubt about Japan, DO IT. Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Sounds amazing. I haven’t focused at all on Japan as a cruise destination but this is so intriguing. Glad you had such a great time!
The best!! Thank you! 😁❤️
@ I see we are both night owls :-) I think the cruises are good for us to get up and going in the mornings. Can’t wait to see your review of your cabin!

Thanks for the tour. Looks like you had a wonderful cruuse!
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Amazing landscape, saving money for a trip soon. Happy holidays.
Magical laundry machine! Just came back from a cruise around Japan and it was amazing. I want to do it again!!
Haha!! Thank you! 😁❤️
Another awesome video, Merry Christmas Emma, thanks for everything =)

'magical laundry machine' Thanks Emma for another interesting video. I've been on the Spirit in Alaska and enjoyed it very much. Merry Christmas!

Magical laundry machine. I love watching your vlogs. You are the first cruising vloger I started watching.
Love it!! Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Love your hair and this video! I always find them both so relaxing and interesting ❤ thank you for sharing!
Haha, thanks so much!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Old school cruising ... exactly what I prefer!
😀❤️ Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Another great video! So excited to finally see your Japan trip documented fully. Can’t wait for the cruise globes launch in 2025!!! 🤍
You're so kind. I'm sooo excited!!! It won't be long now at all!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼

Your winter is only 6 months? *Cries in Irish* 😭
A cruise to Japan and South Korea seems amazing!
I, too, love waving! I’ve never thought of it before, but I am also a “waver”😂
This cruise would be a dream come true! Thanks for the video🛳️
Sooo much!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼

Thanks for another great video Emma! A magical laundry machine sounds like a lovely thing
Thanks so much 🥹❤️ It really was!! ha ha.
My favorite "excursion" is the behind the scenes tour!
I wish I could cruise through life like you, Emma. 🙂
❤️❤️❤️
Came home today from a Panama cruise with NCL. On the cruise I booked the same cruise in september.🎉
Wow that sounds amazing! ❤️👍🏼

Soo much. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼

As someone who just did a Japan cruise on the spirit myself, it was such a fun cruise.
So so glad you enjoyed it as much as me! The best wasn't it?! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
7-11 in Japan is nothing like the US ones. I would love to visit Japan for them alone! I love watching videos of what you can buy there.
'magical laundry machine' 'I'm scared of this drink!' 🤣🤣Love it!
😂😂😂😂😂

That Ferris Wheel looks so tall and amazing (especially the light show). I'm not keen on heights unless I'm enclosed so I'd love riding that.
Yess!! It was. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼

So hard to imagine seeing an amazing place from a ship. Hope you had some time before or after to see Japan by land.
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
You got on after I docked! Thanks for the much better pictures and reporting then I did!
Ha ha!! Hopefully you can share this with friends if they ask what you got up to!! Hope you had a great time. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Great video as always.
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
I've been to Naha and some of the cars are so small you can stick your arms out both windows at the same time 🙂
Emma, you are such a dish 😊… & now I have another bucket list cruise added to my list 😋.. oh yeah, ‘Magical Laundry Machine’
;) Thank you!!
Definitely a ship that I would enjoy.
🥰👍🏼
I took this cruise on Celebrity in August 2024. I hope to be back April or May of 2026. I had an adventure flying out, almost missed the ship. Great video.
So glad you enjoyed it and made your cruise!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Happy Christmas! Note that NCL is replacing the fish carpets when they do refurbs or build new. :(
This ship just had a massive 100 million dollar refit and the fish survived! 😀❤️
I love the remodel of this ship. Cruised it Alaska
Yess! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Haha, bit of both for both I think! Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Merry Christmas 😊
Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏼
I love that you have the before pics 😱😱4:17
I have sooo many! A full video about it will be coming soon ❤️
Magical Laundry Machine…have a Happy Christmas!
Thanks so much 🥹❤️ To you too! 😁❤️
omg Emma, this is so spooky, earlier today a friend and I was looking at the Spirit when she sales between South Korea and Japan during the summer next year! And then your video pops up today 😀

Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Japan doesn't have a tipping culture, so did you have to tip in the bars, restaurants and at the end of your cruise?
On the cruise? Norwegian had automatic daily gratuities and above that we just tipped our cabin man ❤️🥰
I am addicted to the 7 layer chocolate cake at Cagney's! Also the Coq Au Vin at Le Bistro
Yuuuuummmm!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Magical laundry machine!:love your content 😊
Haha!! Thanks so much 🥹❤️
I love your cruise clothes! Would you consider opening a shop with links to similar styles? You could call it Ensign Emma Ensembles! Packing for a cruise is always such a challenge. I'm a cat mamma too & Captain Hudson is a total doll, I love me those yellow tabbies!

lol all the papadams :D
Yum! 🤤
I would think 11 year old Emma would likely think what most of us all do-that you are a very Cool smart person!
Magical laundry machine! Great video!
😂😂 Thank you! 😁❤️
The cake might be pandan! It's a bright green colour but has a light vanilla-y flavour :)
Haha! Maybe!! It really didn't taste much different. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
LOL!
Ha ha, I put pineapple on it tooo!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I've been on that ship!! Back when it was SuperStar Leo! I'm sure I still have the key card somewhere! Oh and Magical Laundry Machine
Oh wow!! I'd have loved to have gone on it back then. A-maaaazing. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Magical laundry machine. And thank you! Will finish later. Out of battery!😂
Haha!! Thank you! 😁❤️
As an Australian I was so deeply offended by you calling the New Zealand flag ours! Kidding, we love our Kiwi neighbours!
A truly magical laundry machine would be completely free, would fold and dry, and put the clothes away!
Cruise ship poppadoms are the best! You can't get a good poppadom in the USA 😭
You were a member of the Beano club?! Me too!!
I'm guessing the green cake is pandan cake. Merry Christmas.
Looks like a great way to visit the expansive Japanese coast
So much! Thank you! 😁❤️
Wow, what a great review! And yes Japanese Toilets AKA Bidets are the BEST. Got one in 2020 and it's the best product I or my wife have ever bought. Shout out to Bio Bidet 2000
YESSS, ha ha. Love that!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
