We have been on Ama twice, and it is just excellent on all levels. They clearly treat everyone as if they are the only ones on board with white-glove service. On both cruises, the passengers were all professional and very friendly. We don't shop prices as once you are on an Ama cruise, you are accustomed to being spoiled. To gamble to take a chance on a vacation doesn't make sense to us. Ama is our only choice! Happy cruising!

They always clean my sunglasses while I am at dinner. It is one of the little things that sets Silver Sea apart from any other cruise.

Raise your camera or laptop up so we are not looking up your nose. Put the camera on books or something.

Both of the crystal ships will be bringing back the casino. The shore excursions on Silver seas are not free. They have been incorporated into the price point of your cruise.

Excellent review! Thanks for sharing your views of the pros and cons of Crystal. We've sailed on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, and are looking for a luxury cruise line to book for 2025. Looks like there are some great options, between Crysal, Seabourne, Silversea, Regent, and Explora. I'd say entertainment may be the one area where some of these lines stand out above the others. From what I can tell, Explora comes up short in this area. Crystal sounds like it could hit the mark for us!

Agree regarding their pricing. Far too high given, not only the competition, but also given the age of these ships. Depending on time of year and itinerary, they can be as much as RSSC Grandeur which is a brand new ship and includes excursions. They have to reduce their prices. They aren't sailing full either as we are constantly bombarded with "last minute deals".

Personally my wife and I would not need a butler. The only time I could see one being useful is when you want a dinner or a show reservation when there are no open reservations, possibly they could get you a reservation. I would just have the stateroom attendant set the stateroom up to my preferences.

Room service breakfast was cold

We got none of the questions you first mentioned. We rarely saw our butler. He had too many rooms to service. Never brought the booze we wanted. The mini fridge had 1 coke, 1 beer,1 tonic water. Spoke to the leed butler, got some snacks. After cruise, we were offered future cruise discount of 1,000$. For a $30,000 cruise. Not our choice again

On AMA they often have a morning and an afternoon included tour.

I have just come off Silver Moon 19 to 26 July 2024. Solo traveller. The cooking and quality of food not good. Wine = Plonk. Many more negatives. One special server,butler good also cleaner of cabin. 6☆ , you have to be joking. Down to the rough towels in bathroom, the shower unit you can barely turn arround . Never Again! Top dollar for what? It's about time the expert vidoe experts on cruise travel, informed the public the actual truth . Some of these vidoes are just propaganda. One more thing, why do the people that put comments on these videos forget to put dates. All i come accross are 4 years old,year's old,what about 2024?

On a seven day cruise, you get two free accesses to the speciality restaurants. So you can either go to both the Italian and the Asian or go twice to the Asian restaurant which is the only Nobu at sea. The third time you go, if there is availability, incurs a $50 charge, not $60. Their Nobu is far superior to the Nobu’s in either London or New York. Extraordinary. And the huge range of dishes would cost in excess of $150 a head on land excluding wine which is generous. The commentator fails to mention that there is a huge range of wine, cocktails, spirits and champagne provided without charge both in the restaurants and in the cabins.

Thank you for your wonderful video. I’m taking Silversea Silver muse in January. One seasoned video expert commented that since Silversea was bought out by rccl you need to communicate all desired services upfront. Did you find this to be the case? Looking forward to no crowds, no nickel & diming, & top shelf customer service.

Great video. You didn't mention anything about Entertainment. Your thoughts? I recently sailed on Avalon and loved the Panoramic Suite. Avalon has something called a Panorama Bistro Menu for dinnertime. It's on the lounge level. It's great for dining a lighter meal and has most of the same dinner menu items served more like Tapas. Does Ama have this? Thanks !!!!

Thank you for this comparison video. I have a group going on Avalon and I only toured and didn't sail on it. So I'm very happy to hear that it is very similar to AmaWaterways.
