I’m willing to accept that Tau Battlesuits should be able to fight in close combat since they considerably stronger and tougher than regular Tau infantry.
Still need speed. Anything that can go toe to toe with a Marine will kill a Tau before they could get a chance to swing.
Well strength and toughness has nothing to do with skill. getting stuck in combat is considered poor strategy for an advanced military like tau

Happy to see more Tau, especially if by Tau you mean Kroot. Krootified battle suits, and fire warriors or anything would be great. As would a kitbash/conversion guide for kroot hounts, and actually the Vespid need a bit of love too.

Had an idea once for “blue kroot” which was basically a tribe of kroot who ate all the tau they were with and split off. The idea was that this allowed them to Jerry-rig their own battle suits and adapt tau tech to be able to use it etc. and you could have kroot fire warriors with all the stats of fire warriors as they’d picked up those traits

I mixed the Kroot kit with the AoS grifhounds and Rat Ogres to make my own Kroot hounds & Krootox. Still not done them but they are looking decent so far.

Can you make a Rak’Gol?
Well what I would like to see as a Tau converted unit would be "elite Firewarriors".
In Dawn of War Dark Crusade there were some "Sha's Ui bodyguards" as super Fire Warriors officers who served as bodyguards, and Games Workshop released before 2008 a tutorial on how to make an Ethereal bodyguard team of Fire Warriors with white helmet and a loincloth, also any of them had rituals knife.
Anyway, I thought the idea of an elite squad of Fire Warriors (being bodyguards or no) made of Sha's Ui would be great to kitbash. You could make them feel like hardened veterans having received a lot of honours and visual distinctions !

Some T'au ideas
Human Auxiliaries or a custom tau suit of your own design.
There is the Xv46s that have been mentioned in the Deathwatch roll playing games that are meant to be the T'au equivalent of terminator armour. That could be fun idea to convert
How about kitbashing some earth castes too! It would be cool to see some combat-engineer type models of some sort.

YES more Tau! I've been wanting to do some axillary conversions for a while now, just never had the time to sit down and make them.
@@DeathEatsCurry How about a Kill Team made of a mix of all three? Maybe some humans, too, and a Tau leader. Really play into the idea of many races working hand-in-hand for the Greater Good.
The waist boost and the snub nosed rifle are a stroke of genius!
I’d love to see more T’au conversions, always thought it would be interesting to see a super militarized version or heavily armored looking crisis suit.

Converting a XV15 stealth suit would be cool, it's the scaled down version of the XV25. (I figure that you'd maybe need the Fire Warrior kit, the XV25 Kit, and maybe the Pathfinder kit for the miniature burst cannon found on the recon drone.)
Would love to see this! The XV15's are banging.
I mean why not use the xv25 kit's burst cannons, waste not want not.

I'm always happy to see the Tau get some love. I think a great idea for a series of videos would be doing conversions for the different Tau Auxiliaries particularly the less known ones that don't have models like Nicassar, Tarellians or Demiurg.
Some more T’au conversions would be amazing to see, maybe a farsight update or fusion blade conversion ideas, who knows maybe even a The Eight conversion guide?
Awsome convertion man. Nostalgia of my of my first Tau army back in 2005. The first codex you could upgrade firewarrios to WS3 for a point if you had farsight. So all my firewarrriors got converted up to with close combat weapons etc. Still talk about the time my firewarriors killed my pals terminators to this day. Nice to see Tau suits getting some close combat love.

The most "Eldar" part of their mele weapon are thos vertebra looking indent they tend to have neat the guard of the blades, I think I would have removed them, of filled the thing instead of leaving them like that, but other than that, that was a pretty great conversion.
To extend the Tau battle suit torso on my battle suits I use some small segmented cabling which looks cool. Hard to find the size that matches the ball joint but it works great.
It's simple conversion but it makes battlesuit look a lot more interesting, so major kudos for that.
As for ideas.
Tau Auxiliaries are always fun option to try and think about how to get breacher/fireteams/pathfinders look more unique. Other thing would be Vespid Stingwings out of plastic kits but that feels like very heavy duty conversion.
Personally I've been wanting to make stealthsuits look more dynamic but given their rather static pose and unique armor it's really challenging to make any notable changes to them. I've been thinking about using wraithguard heads on basic Fire Warrior bodies but that route requires insane amounts of conversion work. The funny thing is that I feel a lot of difficulties with converting some Tau things comes down to things like lack of angular/boxy armor design outside of Tau kits if one wants to stay inside of GW range.

You could try combining the fire warrior kit and current stealthsuit kit to make a "modern" XV15 stealth suit? Would get them to be more poseable and be unique. Although probably lots of cutting. I might actually try this myself, so thank you for the line of thought!

I love this conversion. I would love to use something like this for a Farsight Proxy. I used a 3rd party model for that. So this is fantastic!
Yeah, the farsight model is a bit boring. I have the greater good traitor model and it looks dooope. I left the body open to see the commander inside. Really rugged. And these greater good models are so detailed! It makes gw and fw models look like they are cheap proxies in comparison. Even the unseen parts are incredible

Awesome work! Now I'm not the only one who thinks that Crisis Suits need a waist job.
Additionally, I find another minor revision that really improves their looks is to reposition the thrusters in such a way that the front exhausts are above their shoulders, not below. This also gives them a bulkier look front the front.
More on how to make the Crisis suits dynamic would be great- like the hinge joints of their limbs.
Ait Caste pilots, slick looking Vespids and differentiating the Kroot-ox would all be welcome.

I've found making Cadre Fireblades so fun!! It's easy to get a nice story behind them!!
More tau conversions would be great, maybe ways to kitbash better models for the 8, or characters from the 8. There’s Brightsword & his fusion blades, Bravestorm is entombed in his armour sort of like a dreadnaught, and has an onager gauntlet, Ob’lotai is an ai broadside, Torchstar is obsessed with fire. They could be cool

It'd be really neat to see some Titanfall inspired Tau. Battlesuits with their Pilots climbing in or around them, and maybe kitbashing them to have a more grimy and tactical/tacticool look with more pouches and other practical wargear contrasting their normally sleek tech armor design.

I've done something like this to my own Crisis Battlesuit in the 7th edition. They sucked in melee back there, but now their time has come) Wraithblades swords is perfect for that type of kitbash

really nice one again - many years ago I started building a Tau-Army representing a boarding-party. For close-quarter I used the Grey Knight-Terminator Falchions as the straight blades had a more 'japanese' look & compared to the suit they looked somehow like 'battle knifes'.
The commander-suit got a Tau-variant of a force-hammer (after the commander saw their effectiveness on Terminators he had them backengineered).
i had the same idea with the eldar ghost sword didn't quite know how to get it to work tho, so thanks

I had wondered about the size of wraithguard blades, beautiful execution. Could make a nice bodyguard unit for Farsight himself.
Been hoping you do Tau since finding the channel, I've done a few kitbashes of my own including regular guardsmen boots and torsos on firewarriors and terminator legs on stealth suits to provide some human gue'vesa in the ranks. Been trying to work out how to stick with the theme and create some human stand in's as Kroot. Considering genestealer cult bikes and quad as Kroot Hounds and Krootox. Always great to see how you approach armies that aren't Marines!

This video brought me to your channel and now I am subscribed. Please do more tau stuff. I recently tried to make some human auxiliary fire warriors by using some tempestus scion heads and legs with fire warrior parts. I also wanted "human" crisis suits and used legs from the Kastelan Robots to make human crisis suits. I also incorporated the Kastelan Robot hand into one of the arms for the crisis suit.
Wow, this is looking very cool, almost sad we didn't get to see the painting. I'm definitely interested in seeing more Tau, or even perhaps some Kroot?

Amazing pose! I really liked both the conversion and the slow reveal. Maybe the estethics of the sword still oozes “aldarish”, i imagine Tau designs for blades to have less curvy lines. great job nonetheless!

Big fan of Tau! This guy looks awesome, and I'd love to see more Greater Good conversions in the near future. Also, the Tau recruit a lot of humans to serve in the military, but GW doesn't make any models for that. Maybe you could do a Gue'vesa conversion in the future? Anyway, love it!
