Would love to see you guys to a series on 3D printing not just how to get started but like a full guide for beginners or beginners to intermediate I would love to start doing this but not really knowing anything about printers or brands I don't know if I'm paying for the brand or if I'm paying for a good printer and on top of that I don't know if I should go with filament or resin and I don't really know the difference and it would just be really cool to see a guy to help instead of just like a review this printer against this printer I would love to start doing this before I become fully blind I'm really close to being there and in the state that I'm in it's a lot harder to fight for disability so I want to be able to do something even with my bad eyesight so that I can make some money so I'm not a burden on my significant other but I just don't know where to start between wanting to 3D print and make dice because since I'm a nerd it just seems like fun things to do while also being able to make a part-time job out of it
For jobs like the jets I'd recommend whacking a subdivision modifier on them to round them out a bit if you want to avoid the visible tris in the finished model, doesn't really matter and the finished piece looks cool but it's a handy quick fix for rounded, organic shapes. Just be careful to save before doing it and don't whack it up too high or it can crash.
Dave has gone above and beyond with this one, dude. The amount of growth and development that he's shown in 3D modeling in its basic forms as well as getting incredibly creative with it is so inspiring!! It's gotta feel SO good when you can't freaking tell the difference between parts that came in the box and the parts that are homemade! Genuinely brilliant. I'm honestly proud of how far its come so quickly and I can't freaking WAIT to see more of things like this! Any Dave indulgences on the channel always work out so well because the dude just has so much love! I hope you'll forgive my gush, but this was so SO well done, I had to share! Also, nice shirt at 16:00! : D
For those looking for guides on 3D modelling specifically for 3D printing, I highly recommend Artisans of Vaul youtube channel. A lot of 3D modelling tutorial stuff you'll find on youtube is specifically for either animation or 'game ready assets' a lot of which is vastly more detailed than it needs to be if you're just 3D printing for 32mm models. As you can see here, Ngons (shapes with more than 4 sides) are a big no-no in 3D modelling for video games because most engines break it down into Quads and you can end up with funky issues, none of which matters too much for 3D printing so having a Subdivision workflow isn't a 'must have'. Also if you're doing hard surface modelling and are planning to use it *a lot* I highly recommend the addons of Hardops/Boxcutter and Meshmachine. Cablerator can also be very handy as well.
Tau player here. Probably the best original idea for a customized crisis suit I've seen. I'm honestly not a fan of the Tau = Japan thing. But your Sakura take on it really works in a way that most people's execution of this idea does not.
This army is so pretty, yet so badass. Really admire the work and imagination that's gone into this idea and can't wait to see what else you'll come up with.
Video 18 of commenting for Tabletop Time to make a Space Bear version of the Thunderwolf cavalry or Wolf lord on a Thunderwolf. But instead of Thunderwolves they would be Thunderbears and would use the Thunderwolf stats
This turned out to be a very awesome project! It might be a little more samurai than I would want with Tau, but I totally get it, and the spots where you just made your own parts, from scratch, with a ton of math, measuring, and the 3D software, turned out great! I wasn't sure about the paint scheme; at first, the gray sort of looked like it just got back to unpainted resin, with some pink dots, but I have to say I lost that opinion by the end, and I like that it doesn't just look like every other Battlesuit I have seen. The thrust clouds were also a nice, dynamic addition. I liked the cool use of clear resin, and wonder how well it could work toward making one of those "cloaking" paint scheme Shadowsuns, or her Stealth Suit bodyguards? All in all, a very nice project, demonstrating a menagerie of skills I wish I could hone. Very cool, and thank you for sharing!
I gotta say i love how this model turned out it looks amazing! The only gripe i have with it is actually from the crisis suit model itself, i always find their legs to look a but derpy, like the lower half of the legs feel shorter than the rest of the leg and make it feel out of place and like it’ll topple over if it didnt have the thrusters
Wow! Well done! Keep them coming! These are truly works of art. Whenever I hear the term crisis suit I always wonder, what do their pleasant day out with the family suit look like, or their bored at work suit? Ok, kidding, I hope you are having great fun at Pax and can’t wait to hear all about it.
So I had the craziest dream about Warhammer. The Tau somehow found an Old One, and by a miraculous means, convinced them to remake the Krorks, except this time they were given empathy and reason. Suddenly, the Tau were starting to win the war due to the fact they had their own giant Waaaagh! on their side. It basically ended with the Tau and Krorks defeating the Imperium, exterminating the Tyranids, butchering the Orks, and making peace with the Eldar. Suddenly the Krorks went into the Eye of Terror, vowing to forever hold off Chaos while the Tau rehabilitated humanity, with reformed humans hunting down Necrons and Dark Eldar. It was the wildest and greatest 40k dream I ever had.
Any chance I can get a look at those STLs lol happy to pay for them just starting my own samurai tau and found your vid great work mate and as good luck for all future endeavours another fellow Aussie. 🇦🇺
I only recently found your channel. But that hat design with the samurai armour layout of the battlesuit is a touch of utter genious. Next I'd love you to do a little Red Alert 3 gimmick and make pulse-bows for a possible broadside battlesuit. I think that would be wild.
I personally paint my T’au to be clone troopers from Star Wars, even made a few custom figures like three that are for Comms and one that uses a weapon from a crisis suit as a standing mini gun, even added a jet pack to one of my and used the frame of a drone that I shortened him jumping into flying with mud splatter aswell
That looks amazing! I always love these conversions and it's what got me interested in the channel in the first place. I would love to see more of these
Amazing build, amazing model, it's really astonishing what people can do today with 3D printers. If I may just leave one piece of critic, though the shape of the engine blasts is great I do think you should revisit the paint scheme, to me when looking at it, they don't give the impression of being incredibly hot energy jets at all. They look more like some expanding airbag or some gas exhaust. I think if you added some brighter and sharper colours you could get the point across much better!
Brilliant video as always. Really enjoying watching this process for the various Tau units. Its really cool to see how far you can push the models, my favourite parts are you experimenting with ideas! I wonder whats next - Ethereal Shogun or maybe something for a Hammerhead? Or even doing a Stormsurge in the style of a Japanese castle? I'm looking forward to it anyway!
Magnatize the weapons. That way you don't need to decide and aren't "stuck" with something from last meta. If you are modleing them you can just leave a 3mmx2mm hole for a round magnet, and sink 1-2 into each arm and shoulder slot to hold them.
I noticed you added on bits as you went on. Whenever I glue on bits after I’ve painted, I get some sort of white film around where the glue was. What glue do you use? Or if it’s not the glue, is there some technique to prevent this white film on the paint? Also, very cool model. It looks badass and the blender-made stuff looks very well made.
What you're talking about is called frosting and happens with some types of super glue (especially the cheap and thin ones) You can sometimes fix it with varnish but that doesn't always work A way of preventing it happening could be just adding less glue and switching to a thicker kind of super glue
Amazing finished product, that's such a great looking suit. I'd say with that much customization he'd have to be a named character, unless you're going to do a whole set like that, which actually would be very cool. I started collecting Tau with the release of the Battleforce box a couple years ago, and these customizations make me want to rebuild and rebase my whole army lol. Also i'm pretty sure that box was discontinued just before the Combat Patrol was released at the beginning of this year. I tried to get that start collecting box and couldn't find it anywhere a few months ago.
I think I will make a slightly more low-key version of the helmet, but otherwise these would be standard bits for all Sakura Crisis suits. This one is just a Shas-Vre
This is incredible!! Fantastic sculpting on the weapons and armour, really ties in well to the existing models. I have to admit i hate the smoke plooms though (the jet streams themselves are cool, but the smoke takes away from everything else imo).
Noice. If I may offer a small critique, I think the plumes are a little too soft. Other than that this is one kicking model. I gotta get off my butt and get to sculpting and painting some minis of my own.
This was seriously cool man! Great job! I think the flower design should become the sept symbol instead of the helmet honestly, it’s much more in line with the other canon Tau symbols I think. But still, awesome work Dave!
Amazing work well done Dave looking forward to the next tau model you make. Ps have you make a video of you using them in a game against the other table top time crew?
@TabletopTime I collected Tau when I was a kid and since recently coming back to the hobby as a whole, I've been weighing up if that's an army I want to go back to as an adult. If the STL's are available at some point, I will definitely start collecting them again! Amazing work, I love your content! 🤘😎
I was hoping there would be more mechs soon. Maybe some day you can make another Gundam video as well. Make your own original Gundam. That would be cool!
I'm planning on painting my first tau as your sakura sept, but in terms of the pads/armor, I am going to use green stuff noodles to act as the banding. How would you go about converting the ghostkeel battle suit for your sept?

Someone is impersonating your channel !!!
I have reported them. You might want to look into it or at least put something on the community tab.
That’s a great idea!
For jobs like the jets I'd recommend whacking a subdivision modifier on them to round them out a bit if you want to avoid the visible tris in the finished model, doesn't really matter and the finished piece looks cool but it's a handy quick fix for rounded, organic shapes. You can also do antialiasing with slicers like lychee slicer.
I cannot imagine how awesome this army is going to look when completed and we get the complete spread shot, outstanding work!
I LOVE seeing these Tau videos. They have always been my favorite army to see since I was a kid
@UCDp7SObgQiYnCd-JgdqG5TA I didn’t fall for this and no one else should either
I LOVE how that looks! The amount of work you put into it really shows, all the custom parts look amazing and the paint job is super cool!
Thankyou for your kind words

Very convincing thruster sound!
Those 3D modelling skills are coming in really handy.
Love the result
If I ever get into warhammer, I want to make these as my first army or kill team. I absolutely love these designs. Great job!
So you did a base coat of cold grey then did a zeni of cold grey to lighten it up?! 7:39
With artists like you, the potential is limitless
This is astounding! I love how you were able to use the sakura flower and incorporate it into the gun very cool!
Great work Dave, can't wait to see your take on vehicle's and bigger mechs.

THE TAU ARE BACK!!! I'm so excited to see more of these!
Wow. Dave really has showcased his prowess with MSI. You can really make your models unique. Really impressive work.
I know nothing about Warhammer, but god I would love to have that mini on my shelf!
Battle suit came out fantastic. It's amazing how much it's a little prep work can help especially with taking all those measurements.

Please do a ghostkeel. It's the best tau model and with your amazing talent and eye for detail you'd blow away any other conversions by miles.
Looks AMAZING! Also, great 3D modelling skills!!

Why do I find this little battle suit Tau so adorable?!?!
It's a little flower of destruction!
I LOVE IT❤
Sheesh, that turned out really well. Now I really wanna see what you do with the other suits.
Any chance I can get a look at those STLs lol happy to pay for them just starting my own samurai tau and found your vid great work mate and as good luck for all future endeavours another fellow Aussie. 🇦🇺
can we get the 3d models to print these?
that turned out awesome, nice man.
It looks great, but I think the armor plates should be stacked the other way around (top plate over the bottom plate instead of under it).
This is so badass dude amazing work!
Thank you. I've been avoiding working on my own modeling. This video helps inspire me to work on them.
I only recently found your channel.
But that hat design with the samurai armour layout of the battlesuit is a touch of utter genious.

Realy realy awesome. Love your costume model episodes!
You really did an outstanding job on this. The customizations are amazing. I'd love to see more of the Tau Sakura.
That looks amazing! I always love these conversions and it's what got me interested in the channel in the first place. I would love to see more of these
Damn I want more of this that’s dope
Epic work... If someone was to say this is a standard Tau weapon with attached blade. Id believe them.
Fun video! I really like the Dave Does Deep Warhammer vids. Keep ‘em coming!
What’s this? My favorite mini channel making my favorite unit?! Yes please!!!
Looks great! Blender and 3D Printing feel like a real game changer for awesome conversions

Amazing. But can we see more of the Tyranids? Would love to see more of the bugs that have gotten me into Warhammer.
The clouds look great. Enjoy the long weekend.
Can you make a Ghostkeel next?
Brilliant video as always. Really enjoying watching this process for the various Tau units. Its really cool to see how far you can push the models, my favourite parts are you experimenting with ideas!

those are some awesome bits, really cool to see how fast you are learning to model!

@@OG_miniaturepainting ah, ok. Yea, I use a really cheap glue. At least I know what causes it now, thank you.
That looks amazing! I want to try something similar when I start playing Eternal Dynasty for OPR! I can't stop looking at it!!
Wow! Those are amazing! Now do a T'au'Nar Supremacy Armor next!
This is sick, i love it. I have much respect for your 3D sculpts.
impressive. your blendet skills have developed so much.
Really cool "effects" you made for this model!
Damn, I don't even have the bell rung and I keep accidentally stumbling into your videos super early
Amazing finished product, that's such a great looking suit. it looks like it was inteded to look this way! in other words this looks amazing.
Can't wait to see a Sakura Stormsurge or Tau'anar Supremacy build.

Dude. This is amazing!!! Holy hell I love it so much!!!
Loved focus mode😂😂
That's sick! Well done Dave!
We need a life size tao armor .!!!!! Just like the space bear claw and chest pieces
Amazing work well done Dave looking forward to the next tau model you make.
Ps have you make a video of you using them in a game against the other table top time crew?
I'm very jealous, this is really amazing! Well done! 👌
Epic! he looks sick, i love the jets.
you could taen look at Tau commander kit, it had all the weapons
Bro, you make me want to get a tau army. Stellar job
Would love to buy those Tau bits at some point, they look great
Are the STL's going to be available for print like the Space Bear ones?
We can make it so if it is desired!!
@TabletopTime I collected Tau when I was a kid and since recently coming back to the hobby as a whole, I've been weighing up if that's an army I want to go back to as an adult. If the STL's are available at some point, I will definitely start collecting them again! Amazing work, I love your content! 🤘😎
Damn, those custom weapons are amazing!
I'm looking forward to seeing how you incorporate stealth suits into this design philosophy.
hello there
Hello there
Hallo der
General Kenobi!
Hello there
Hello there
What was the music for the glamour shot? Sounds familiar
Looks sick
Amazing! Would love to see this face off against the Space Bear Dreadnought!
where can you get that starter army for tau, i prefer this kit box than the new one...it is very rare to get crisis battlesuit nowadays
If anything, that blossom helmet crest is officially the sept icon to me
thats rad
I was hoping there would be more mechs soon. Maybe some day you can make another Gundam video as well. Make your own original Gundam. That would be cool!
¡Gran trabajo!, sumamente buen trabajo :D
awesome work broham
Will these parts be available to buy for printing, got a friend who'd love this for his tau
I'm planning on painting my first tau as your sakura sept, but in terms of the pads/armor, I am going to use green stuff noodles to act as the banding. How would you go about converting the ghostkeel battle suit for your sept?
very surprised you didn't use anything of pipermakes
Wonderful, you did a great job!
any ideas for a ghostkeel suit head? i was thinking of painting my first tau as your sakura sept
Would love to see your take on kroot in this sept!
I didn't know you were a southpaw! Looks really good, fellow lefty!
so damn cool but woulda been even cooler if u had done some type of damascus steel on the katana u could absolutely pull it off
