I never comment on videos but I have to say. I don't believe I've ever heard someone talk so passionately about a game before. Was very good to watch thank you.
@@declanjones8888 Its an RPG, always prepare before committing to any main quests, get your combat/stealth skills up, stacj up on potions/bandages/food (try not to over eat or drink too many potions at once, overeating causes a debuff and too many potions makes you tipsy) & finally get your gear up, but also be weary of timed quests if you dont want to get a bad outcome; the game will imply which are timed. Also you only have to start a mission over if you dont have Savior Schnapps in your inventory (alcoholic beverage that lets you save the game anywhere upon drinking it) should always carry some, otherwise the only other way to save is by sleeping in a bed/haystack or relying on the uncommon checkpoint. Stealth is probably what most will have an issue with, most dont know that if your stealth skills are low you could disguise yourself as an enemy by wearing their armor and walk right into their camp, even while in their armor keep your distance, Henry doesnt speak Cuman (Hungarian) and can only fake it so many times when approached.
Im from Czech republic (place where Jaromír Jágr was born and where this game is set) In my country release of this game is pretty big deal even on mainstream media. Also there is a video where leader of the project Daniel Vávra (Hidden and dangerous, Mafia) saying personally to the people at the shop and buying the game that it is buggy and he apologised for it. And don't worry they will work hard to patch what they can. They are still very small developers in terms of size/budget compared to competition. Tak buďte zdrávy :)
Don't worry, if they continue on the path they're currently on and ignore the many greedy f*ckers on the side, trying to steer them away from it, they won't be small for long. They've got their hearts and minds in the right place and I can't wait to see what more they have in store for us.
Funny as that comment is, it's an experience most people today will never have unfortunately. In my trip to Naples a few years back, I wanted to buy a cameo brooch for my mother so I went to the outskirts of the city and came across this man who's a Carver by trade, and I decided to stay around and talk to him for a bit. After around 30 minutes, he told me his life story, where his grandparents' villages were, how they met, how his father carved Cameos for the Pope and the Queen of England, with photo scrapbooks of these and other of his father's best work, and by the end of it all he decided to bump the price of my purchase down by about 60%. I'll never forget that experience, and it's something that RPGs should strive to emulate. People have become so clinical and streamlined in their daily interactions and it's seeping into our video games.
@@panokostouros7609 It's because these days you can't exactly go down to Tescos and tell the cashier "60? That's too high, I'll give you 50 though". If you go to a market or yard sale though you can certainly haggle.
@@panokostouros7609 You just have to go to the right places. I remember when I was on a school trip to Italy about 14 years ago. There were some African dudes walking around trying to sell some souvenirs. Guy wanted to sell me a fake Zippo for 20€, I haggled him down to 5€. One of my classmates looked at me and was like:" You can't do that?" I was like: "If he wouldn't make a profit he wouldn't have sold it...". Another time I went Christmas shopping and in front of the mall was a Guy who sold some goods that have..fallen of the shelves. I saved a lot of time and money that day. Also you can usually haggle at Pawn shops and flee markets. You can also try it with any small business (mom and pop shops where usually the owner is behind the counter) or a market stall. Just be confident and ask if you could get a discount if you buy more stuff. It really helps to do some small talk and be friendly/polite. Now if you are up against a salesmen (like when buying a car) then of course you can't show too much interest, as they are chasing their commissions. If you've seen a used car sitting at a yard for like 3 months without being sold, you can reeeaallly push that price down as at that point they just want to get rid of it (I used to work as a used car salesmen). All in all, plenty of opportunities to haggle, just avoid supermarket chains.
This game is great and all, but it's not historically accurate. I watch BBC fairly regularly and I have learned from them that the majority of people in medieval Europe were Africans. I'm sure they'll fix it in the next patch.
The game was sold out at the first shop I went to, I managed to get the last one at the second shop, If this game sells well I hope it sends a message to other developers
I was born 1995, I remember being a kid and playing games like Morrowind. I gave this game a chance in 2024 and Ive got to say im in love. It takes me back to the days youd be sat with an IRL map and a 4 inch thick game guide ❤ a real mans RPG
MUST BUY GAME!!! well, this is the best game i ever play. i thought arma 3 was amazing but this has top it. my only crictise to make this game better. 1. is to have auto block, if the enermy is not in eyesight, because the combat in on auto lock, but i do like the auto lock i think its great. it really really real life, 2. also my bissegt point. i think you should be albe to make a fire, learn hor to make a fire, colect wood, and then hunt then be able to cook your meat.... over the fire, and you should be able to make a bed, anywhere to sleep, for example if your in a forest. if these were added to the game it would be amazing simple no game can compete with this, 3 also the cost of arma is too overprice, while i've killed and looted that many, i made 6k from selling all my loot, so i think arma should be max around 250 grouchen.
Worth A Buy I'm 32 years old and I've been gaming since the 90s were when you died in the game while you just fucking died and there is no saves you know so to have a game like this come in is a breath of fresh air and it brings me back to my roots and I just love this game and you did a good job on this it's really good and this is how all RPGs should be made
old comment but this is what dark souls did for me. the game has the perfect difficulty. everything else feels either too easy or just artificially hard if you get what i mean
Me too, this needs far more recognition. Maybe in 10 years, it would get what it deserves. Same thing happened to dark souls, which now is overhyped. Im a LFC fan too. We'll win the league, bro. YNWA
A few inaccurate things were said in this video. In Witcher 3, if you steal something in front of a guard, you will have your arse handed to you, stealing something in front of a civilian, well when you have a mutated super human monster killer in front of you, it's just smart to stay quiet. Second, there are consequences for causing disturbances, for example the game tells you that when you enter white orchard, just do a little experiment where if you kill someone's goose or cow or animal, then you'll have guards chasing you. Also you can't kill civilians, the game just doesn't allow you to do so which maybe subjective as I am role playing a Witcher who help people not kill them and also you make a living out of bounties so it doesn't make sense for a witcher to go bonkers killing people, the context of the world matters a lot when you are role playing a game in a land ravaged with bloodshed, war, politics, monsters, and evil. Lastly, the game has severe and radical outcomes from the choices you make during quests, no wonder the game has 46 different endings. There are keys that you need to know about like how to make make Geralt walk or run, there were buttons I discovered when I was 30% into the game. You as a Witcher don''t sleep, eat, or drink so it's useless to have those put in. The game is not perfect like any other game, it just depends on what you are looking for. The definition of an RPG is being confused with the definition of a simulation. RPG simply means you role play the character you play as, and in Witcher you rightly do so. I have checked one of his videos on where he explains what is an RPG, in that video he says "An RPG game is when the game allows you to create your own character, which means being able to change the gender, sex, while kingdom come is playing as Henry. It shows that he is confused about what an RPG is with a simulation. Also you need to turn off auto lock on enemy in the Witcher 3 menu in order to be able to fight enemies freely. All these inaccuracies are out of ignorance from not putting time into the game or watching the tutorials
This game brings me back to my gaming roots. I'm 36 and feel like i'm 16 again.😅 I just want my work day to be finished so that i can get home to play this game.😀
Same, i'm an eighties kid, this game fixed a decade of gaming fatigue for me, I thought I was getting old cuz I thought every game is shit. I wasn't getting old, every game really was shit, lol.

@@JohnJohn-pm9wq thankyou for sharing your take on this, looks like you put tons of effort into it. Yes I also think Mac can be a little dismissive and ignorant about the true mechanics and the reasons for them in games he just does not take a shine to for whatever reason, sometimes its stuff as pathetic as not being able to use some precious hot key.. Still enjoy his general jib about the games he plays though, so I guess that is all that truly matters if your just looking to be entertained by another's opinion.
I met the creator of this game Dan Vávra (aka Hellboy) when we both worked on Mafia 2, totally down to Earth gamer and excellent writer who knows what the hell the real gamers want. Not many people know that the Kickstarter campaign for this game covered only a part of the development, he also managed to convince a local billionaire to invest into the project which means that you can make a great game even with a commercial interest behind your back.
It always surprises me how many people imagine it is possible to make any sort of decent open world game on a kickstarter budget. In the end they raised about $2m from crowd funding and spent around $5m overall (I understand). That is still a fraction of the $50m plus plus that AAA titles from major publishers are budgeted at. This game looks streets ahead of other low budget open world games, even given that it lacks a bit of polish as of now.
TBrian it’s said that people are trying to throw this game in the gutter by claiming both the creator and the game are racists. Completely tossing out the fact that this is a good game. I’ve been gaming my entire life and the only games that bother me that lack black representation are rpgs with character creators that glaze over options for people who are trying to be black. But I’m used to playing games like Witcher, Balders Gate, Kingdom come, etc that never had any colored people before and they weren’t even claiming historical accuracy. This game is fun and Henry’s story is interesting. This game, like Monster Hunter, is going to change the industry and its standards. Games have gotten lazy.
Couldn't of said it better. This is the rpg I've been waiting to play for ages. No namby pamby, holding your hand bullsh*t. Kcd pushes you out the door, and says "figure it out yourself, like you'd have to in real life" I'm loving this rpg. Thanks for saying it like it is.
Aye, as an older, hardened gamer, even I'd gotten so used to the "modern" standards that I got my ass handed to me in the first fight. Had to shake of my dust, turn my brain on (thank god, finally), and LEARNED the game. It's refreshing, I've missed it.
Well it is like that, Piranha Bytes did the same thing all over again. But i have to admit i kinda liked Risen, but i didnt enjoyed it as much as i love Gothic 2 or 1. Actually i think that the only RPGs ive finished before like a year were Gothic 3 - The easiest game made by Piranha Bytes, and Witcher 3, because some time before i just ussualy got stuck somewhere and for me, it was too hard. Now i finished both Gothic 1 and 2, and maybe, i will finish Risen 1 sometimes.:D
This game is a shock to the system for basic gamers who just play top AAA's like cod or fifa with big producers. This game is pure immersion, a medieval simulator, from peasentry to knighthood with a REAL backstory. It doesn't hold my hand, forces me to listen to conversations and actually use my brain, which is what makes it so fun. The risk/ reward system really makes you think about your choices in game. Warhorse studios did their fans so proud with this game, which was a kickstarter btw.
I just wanted to say that I really, really love this game. I would and still do spend hours wandering on foot through the woods, hunting, admiring the beautiful (seriously beautiful) world, listening to birds, finding interesting sites, etc. I completed the story about a year ago and to this day still play it. More power to Warhorse Studios (yes, I still suck at combat, but for all the right reasons).
Exactly, it was completely fair. I don't understand why people can't just enjoy games without worrying what other people think....It's really childish.
"This game has brought me back." So... you have been delivered from evil and back into the real heaven of gaming.. hence... Kingdom Come: Deliverance....
Mack, I'm not trying to be an old Meg and suck you off or anything but good goddamn I absolutely fucking love this game. It took not even an hour to hook me. I mean I can't really even put into words how I feel about it, but I can say that it has been a LOOOOONG time since a game got me like this one. My only complaint(s), which are already being addressed are the lock picking and save on exit. The thing that makes me sad about this game is that it's probably not going to do well in terms of awards, maybe even reviews. Judging by what I have seen the current generation of gamers saying about it, not many seem to appreciate or understand a game like this. The Steam forums are just a garbage dump of "too hard, bad game" or "devs change it so I can do (insert crappy BS mechanic here)" "combat sucks" etc etc. For anyone who is enjoying this game and having a particularly hard time lock picking on PC try this, it KIND OF worked for me. If you have a gaming mouse that lets change DPI, go into the lock pick minigame and start turning down your DPI until you get a speed that works well with the lock turn speed. It's not so much a cheat or anything as much as it's a workaround for now until they change the mechanic. For anyone who is on the fence, know this. Playing this game is about immersion and following a story. It's less a game more of a heavily interactive movie. It's not about going quest to quest as fast as you can to level up and beat the game. You will have to actually practice your skills, spend your days living the life of the main character and only through rigorous paitience will you be rewarded.
Amen. That more people aren't waxing lyrical about it is beyond me. Just reminds me how most gamers have no taste. Makes sense, the same is true for film, literature and art in general. Very soon people will realise that this game will forever be considered one of the all time greats.
Judge Lazar agreed entirely although I'm mixed on the save mechanic I like that it forces you to live a day in the life before you quit it helps a ton with immersion but it does create frustrating deaths and mistakes lol
I love coming back to this review every now and then. Most agreeable review I have ever seen for a game, and I love seeing my most played steam game be praised
i am playing video games for 20+ years, and im very passionate about em. i must say, i know many younger people will not understand it, but this is probably the best and most immersive video game i have ever played (well since early 2000s at least). as mack said, there are bugs, but im looking past that, that will be patched, im looking at the core of the rpg.
I'm 20 currently, and exactly because of games today not being like the old ones, I only played few games, mostly a decade old(Mafia, KOTOR). I just can't stand most of the modern games(except for multiplayer games), either it's super easy, predictable, unimmersive, or unoriginal at least.
Adi I'm 15 and I love the game, unfortunately all my friends only play pubg, RS6 etc.. I think the reason I love it so much is because I'm a huge fan of history and everything in the game made sense to me.
Dark Souls and Bloodbourne is exceptions, and Morrowind is like 17 years old. Mind you I love these games. But Kingdom Come is the best gaming experience I've had since Morrowind. It's been over a decade since I played a game for 15 hours straight (I think it was Kotor 2). It's buggy, but my god, what a fantastic immersive game. Also I got a bachelor in history and this is a game of my dreams -- I wish more games were like this.
apples and oranges.. KC: D might be compared to W1 as first installment in the series, not the last one, the best thought out, designed and produced.. with enough own money, not to forget.
I'm about 10 hours into the game, i haven't noticed many big bugs yet, a few small ones here and there, but nothing as bad as we see with every AAA game these days. Maybe i been lucky though, cause my framerate is also 50 fps outside of towns and 40 in towns with a GTX 970 where many people complain they hardly reach 20 frames with much better videocards. Then again i seem to have a better CPU then them so it's probably due to that. Even so if the game is buggy, Bethesda gets away with it every game by the fans and reviewers. A huge studio with a lot of money with many games on their names who keep making the same bug ridden mess, if any of the so called game journalists gives this game mass minor points due to bugs were they give Bethesda a free pass then their scores should not even count in the overall score cause they are biased as fuck and can't do their job properly..they can't anway.
My experience, no. But i guess it can varry for people. Like i said, I'm 10 hours in, the only few bugs i encountered been one conversation having the same line repeated once more before it moved on and sometimes the textures loading in a bit slow (Standing still and let it load in properly seems to work for me). They also been patching a lot since release.
It’s funny, cause people who would call this game « boring » are the same people who play shit like assassin’s creed, which i would find boring. God be with you!
Same here, this is probably the game that has addicted me the most, making me lose hours of sleep just because I was intrigued of what would come next.
Dragonmoth Yeah, I definitely agree. The hardest part of the game for me has gotta be the dog enemies. I have a ton of trouble locking onto them and trying to fight other enemies when they’re around. You’re right tho, most games have some aspects that can be frustrating, but this game is definitely one of my favorites regardless.
Right? I've been so fucking bored the last couple of years with shallow games. They were all the same. Instant gratification from start to finish. You barely got a tooth stuck in something and they were showering you with rewards that meant nothing. Do you have any Idea how long it's been since I last played for hours and hours on end? Witcher 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Every other game I would put down after a couple hours because of pure boredom. Oh the sweet pleasure of asking myself why I am so tired and realising I'd been lost in another world and it's now 4am.
I've never read a complaint about the difficulty yet. I think the devs already implied that this was for the hardcore RPG crowd, thus filtering out the people this wasn't really aimed at.
+rundownaxe if your looking for deep games to play, you should check out King Arthur's Gold. it a pixel art 2d side-scrolling moba it's like 5 bucks and it's really fun
You're the only reviewer that seems to get the spirit of this game. I'm late to the party , but you're absolutely right. I'm only about 15 hours in but . . This is one of the best RPGs I've played in the past 20 years..
I paid full whack for mine because I knew a good thing when I saw it! Mack you paragon of virtue! Sing that shit dude absolutely right! Damn damn right! I also love the game, yes I'm crap at the combat and I hide if I see anything more than one bandit it's so real and grounded and SKILL BASED! actual skill is needed and I'm revelling in it!
Use a warhammer, I wait till they go to sleep and have no armor on exept maybe 2 guards. Walk in camp with shield and warhammer and start beating the shit out of them. Its golden just to smash the skulls in.
Good call Mack! I'll check the sword on my next time through! Thanks for the reply I'm a big fan! *Ding! Yep there's some great suggestions here! Didn't expect to head on in the game and build Henry into an armoured tank, next play through it'll be sneak and archery based which is more my style! :)
Mack your one of the reasons I bought this game, my friend was describing the game to me and it sounded amazing watched your review after and I was sold I love rpg's and this game is awesome thanks for your honesty and great reviews :)
Buggy as F, but i've allways wanted a proper Medieval "simulator", never thought something as historically accurate would come out, and also as a Medieval Brotherhood reconstructor i approve this game! This is dreams come true, Thank You WarHorse!
exactly! I remember playing fallout 2 as a kid and it was also bugged as F, but it didnt bother me, it was immersive experience and that's all that matters
@Britannic hayyomatt I agree with lot of stuff you said, my opinion is subjective of course, I wasn't giving review or explained in detail every aspect like you did. I just wanted to share my personal immersion in this game, immersion I haven't experienced in a long time
@Britannic hayyomatt what frustated you? The game's difficulty or the bugs? The latest patch really got rid of most bugs, and I'm basically unkillable even after they buffed npc strategy when they fight you. They WILL try their best to surround you and backstab you now. I don't get why you're not immersed.
@Britannic hayyomatt no, no you're not insulting anyone, and thank you for writing. Though i have to disagree that it's just basic stats base. When im on level 6 in my second playthrough, i learnt that you can be invincible in 1vs1 if you know how to riposte (basically a faster perfect block and hitting them back in the process) and it took me a while to master it. You have to time your block perfectly, i started to not looking at the hud and just looking at how my enemies are starting to pull their arms back before they starting to swing. The directional combat is just used for you, not the enemy, to choose which part of their body to swing at, and that depends on which of their armor is easier to damage. You can't compare this to directional combat games. I own Mordhau and its as direct as it can be, but people can abuse their swings to hit you in the back, even if they're right in front of you. THAT is unrealistic as heck, also armor basically does nothing. In KCD, your armors helped. But if i am to conclude, i think maybe you just don't like the system, while i happen to like it. My biggest disappointing point for this game is the annoying clippings on armors and clothing.
@Britannic hayyomatt Its not random chance at all, you can unlock master strikes at level 3 skill of mace, axe or sword. Straight after you could take a Cuman camp while naked you just have to be dead on with your blocking. Henry's skill will only affect the game-play by widening the window of said moves to be performed. That is not random. That is literally what you said you wanted, to be the same throughout game while increasing damage and speed.
"I'm living a medieval life!" Loved that so much. I love Witcher and AC but I laughed at your comments and I totally get what you mean. Those are fantasy games. This is an historical RPG. I haven't played it, and I don't know how good it is, but I really respect the team who made it for trying to do something so amazing.
Daniel Carrapa I recommend playing it. Its really good. The only bug Ive come across so far is somehow I ran up into the air (think GTA5 Onlines old stairway to heaven glitch and you basically understand it). I came in with low standards and have completely fallen in love with the game.
Same, I backed it like 2,5 years ago just when kickstarter begun. I bought it as a christmas gift for my ex-girlfriend now and now I played it for like an hour, can´t wait to come to her place again and just play fo hours. It is really great game.
I fucking love this game and I'm over the moon that Mack does as well. Hopefully KC:D will give other rpg devs *cough*Bethesda*cough* the kick up the arse they need to provide a thoroughly enjoyable rpg experience. I bet Todd Howard is shitting his hose
Killercookiegaming Oh yeah Bethesda.... they've only recently came out with Skyrim for about the 12th time and fallout 4 was shite compared to new Vegas. The only actual noteworthy thing that they did last year was publish wolfenstein 2
Antoine Hanako They were though...back in Morrowind and New Vegas times. Maybe even Oblivion. It's just not the same anymore. I want to hope for TES VI to have the same feeling Morrowind has, but I know I will be disappointed.
There is a sidequest you get later in the game, in Ushitz, there is a vicar that is searching for heretics. He gives you a copy of an account of someone who had witnessed them but had been tortured for the information. This transcription is the only clue you get and it's written in a way of a man who is having heavy hallucinations (he died from the torture). For an hour irl I search for the heretic's meeting place, using only the books vague hints, I felt so proud when I actually found it, started in the morning and ended at night with a torch in my hand. There were never any quest markers, just you and your wits. Fucking A plus game.
They're working on it. Bugs were quite expected to be honest, with such small budget to achieve such complexity and graphics, it was nothing but expected.
30 million € , graphics are not that impressive, way too many bugs, this many were not expected at all, you realise there are people who paid 50€ and can't finish the game right?
Well Macky McMackFace, I may just shell out £40 for this game, this would be the first time in 7 years that I've paid full price for a game mainly because I got fed up for paying full price for half assed 'games'. Modern AAA gaming is more about graphics than gaming. The only games that I really buy now are classics on GoG, a lot of new games are stunning but lack depth, hoping that this developer branches and starts a trend..
I’m 34, and your so right that games do most of the work for you these days, I remember gaming 20 years ago, this is a step back in time to what it should be! Loved your ranting about modern gamers! 😂👍🏼
Adam Jones I know those feels as well. My top experiences are still system shock 2 and old RTS/RPG titles. Most new gamers abandoned its technical gameplay roots to chase publishers down the pretty explosions in a long tunnel of mundane. Casual is one thing, total lack of depth/complexity is another.
I started playing KCD for the first time almost 2 weeks ago, and it already became one of my favourite open world RPGs, for many good reasons like the ones you point out. I'm enjoying it just as much as Skyrim and Tears of the Kingdom, but still finding it a much better game. Really excited for the sequel.
Not gonna lie, I was brought up on modern games and having built a pc and gone back to play old games like Deus ex and shadow warrior makes me sad that people I know won't know how shit games have gotten
Kamui I've gone back many times to play Deus Ex the original... it was the most immersive game back in its day, and I will go back to it once more when I have the time.
Mack! i know this vid is like 6 years old now, but I always remember it as one of the best vids ever about RPGs, you couldn't be more right man, and as year pass, this vid seems more relevant. Can't give it a double Like, but at least a comment, wishing you all best as ever mate. Cheers 🍻
such an excellent game, been playing bits of it during the week and now I'm finally able to dive into it deep this weekend and I'm already loving the shit out of it.
Yesterday I entered the monastery, on horse at high speed, but I haven't entered through the big gate, I entered through the small one. I bashed my head and fell off the horse. I didn't know this is a thing. . And the woods, damn the best woods in any game. Everyday I find new things, like the quest where you have to catch some birds, and you actually learn about the fauna. The woods they live in and the sound they make. Is so organic. Or when you hear crows in distance, and after a while you stumble across a dead merchant, that had his head broke with brutality and dragged in a swamp. Even the items on him have the stolen item icon, subtlety suggesting is not just a simple cadaver , is a important person that has possessions, and you can even get in trouble if you get caught with his belongings in your inventory. And this just a simple 500 m walk in a forest. This game is a masterpiece!!! GG for this video !
I don't have enough good things to say about this game. Remember when you played Oblivion for the first time and the quests were all interesting and different and not just "Go to a cave, kill this guy and I'll give you a reward" this game has that feeling. The quests are interesting and different! Follow a nobleman around on a hunting trip? Amazing. Ask beggars a bunch of questions to see if they are fit for a job. Amazing. The quests don't get stale when you're always doing different shit!
Great to be taken back in time. Thank you WarHorse. Between yourselves and Larian Studios you are doing great things to put gaming back where it should be. Hopefully new upcoming developers can take leaves out of your books and continue to redefine the stale state of mainstream games today, and make it as challenging and enjoyable as it used to be. Thank you for starting to awaken younger players to having superior, enthralling experiences that the corporate money making industry has denied them, for the last 15 - 20 years.
So much yes! These two games are the two best games I have played in a long while. Which is funny because I said the same about The Witcher, but mic like this video I was getting desensitized to it. The Witcher IS a great game but gameplay wise you just don’t know what is truly good gameplay until you get slapped in the face with Divinity or Kingdom Come. Back to Morrowind style. No hand holding. Unforgiving. Deal with consequences. I love it. And it made me realize how conditioned I had gotten to the AC style, 4 million markers on my map all with a bullet point list on how to complete that quest. I mean Jesus I am ashamed I even thought about praising those games when I play KCD. Except the Witcher. I mean that story and content and world is still worthy of be one of the GOATs but from a gameplay perspective and RPG perspective it is shit.
This video is how I feel about this game, sub'd. The only thing I can add is that I haven't felt a game not draw but DRAG me in like this for a while. I've gotten a bad habit where I look at the clock when I'm playing games, play a little, save, never pick it up again. This game? Started at 12 PM, finished at 4 AM. On the first day! Didn't even know how late it got until I turned off the PC, went to bed and checked my phone.
Just finished the game as of October 2021. No bugs to speak of. Nothing, not one sinlge bug. This is the best game I have ever played. Absolutely mesmerising. It just takes you to a world, and you're there. I have no words really. Warhorse studios, THANK YOU
Yeah it took me 2.9 h. Not sure where this "8 hour" tutorial rubbish is coming from. It was worse for me because I was over encumbered and couldn't run from the moment I killed the Cuman as I was escaping Skallitz until I finally arrived in Rattay. I Used a halberd I borrowed...from a guard that mysteriously died in Skallitz to kill the Cuman. Was hilarious.
I started to get spaced out of games and I really wanted a game that can hook me up again and finally I decided to try Kingdom Come and what a great choice it was ... I love this review cuz it says everything that I wanted to say about this game
Just one thing: THANK YOU. Those are exactly my thoughts, when i started it i remenbered thinking i haven't played a gane like this in years, thx for this rant.
I’ve watched this possibly 20 times and it never gets old. It represents exactly the problem with gaming. The greatest RPG ever made. This game should be up there with Skyrim in popularity.
This is my favorite video I've watched on your channel this is the best rant video music to my ears! Also great review on battle brother's got it and loved it, looking forward to more of your content in the future!
Reviewers love when a game 'makes you feel like Spiderman" or "makes you feel like Batman". When a game makes you feel like a human they can't figure it out and put in shit tier analysis of it. That industry is best avoided.
This actually gives me some confidence that Warhorse will not "cave" into a lot of people's demands. Most of the criticism is coming from people who don't understand the core philosophy of this game. Time would be better spent fixing bugs and working on DLC.
the challenge in the batman games didnt come from being able to beat everyone, it was about getting as high a multiplyer as you could with as many combinations as you could
Partly yes, but also some of the harder fights on harder difficulties are just impossible with button mashing. Efficiency and keeping the combo going is important. At harder difficulties, enemies take too many regular hits to kills so using the combo takedown or ground takedown (very difficult to pull off without getting hit) are required to take out enemies quickly, and for some fights the enemies may pick up rifles if you are not careful so you have to be aware and stop them using your batarangs or batclaw.
So, the game is on a sale right now and since i have some time on my hand to play i was wondering if the game is any good. This video was the first that came up when i typed in "Kingdom Come Deliverance". After 5 seconds into the video, i knew where this is going. I didn't had to watch the whole thing to know that I should buy it. And I did, and still watched the video completely. So let me say it in your words: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
A game that doesn't tell you how to do everything and doesn't provide instant gratification, of course today's gamers don't like it. Effort is overrated :P
+LordSky If hating IGN for being a bunch of incompetent reviewers only existing to make money by praising AAA games makes you a snowflake, then I am a snowflake.
Okay, you're right. I enjoyed the witcher 3 and when I watched your review for it I didn't freak out and start insulting you, but I remember thinking: 'He didn't like the game because he disliked things I didn't care much about.' But I didn't care because I was used to them, used to spam combat and RPGs that aren't really that much about roleplaying. I'll try this game, see if I can change my millenial judgement on games a bit lol. Thanks again!
thenurieta1999 if you go into this game prepared to ACTUALLY learn and be mindful of the time period, you will succeed. Treat every challenge as if it's real life. Ask others for help in a quest even if they aren't a marker. The game wants you to explore options, not the surroundings until you're ready lol
I think you meant to say publishers. I think developers often try to put out good games but it’s the publishers that rush the schedule and lie about what it will be imo.
Some developers might try and come out with something original From Software comes to mind, but then you get developers like EA that just rehash the same damn game over every year, then you have companies like Bethesda(who I use to like) trying to sell addons to games and charging more money for crap that should already be in the game to start, trying to make paid mods which backfired hugely, the majority of game companies are showing they only care about the money.
a restart now then, year after? surely you do lose some memory, and i guarantee you will want to try new ways of doing quests. that will lead to new discoveries, new dialogues, and even some quests
rundownaxe haha yeah normally steer clear of Bethesda stuff at launch. It’s more like performance patches I’m waiting for. Frame rate is real unstable for me (3440x1440 on a 1080ti.) jumps between 20-60 a little too frequently to feel great. Massive backlog to work through anyway so I don’t mind the wait.
I have two 780s in SLI and I can get decent performance in 1080p. I get solid 45+ fps. I played with the settings and most of them don't do much but shader quality and shadows are worth taking down a notch or two. I imagine you could get similar frames at 1440p with you 1080ti since it's much more powerful than my cards put together.
www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-02-20-kingdom-come-deliverance-review "We know of African kings in Constantinople on pilgrimage to Spain; we know of black Moors in Spain; we know of extensive travel of Jews from the courts of Cordoba and Damascus; we also know of black people in large cities in Germany," the historian, Sean Miller, tells me. I never comment on videos but I have to say. I don't believe I've ever heard someone talk so passionately about a game before. Was very good to watch thank you.

@@laalki80 yes absolutely brilliant.
in most games, when you fail a mission you have to start over. In KCD, you have to carry on. cause that's life
What do you mean?
I've had to start over multiple times, because I was just fucked and couldn't do anything basically.
Im from Czech republic (place where Jaromír Jágr was born and where this game is set)
In my country release of this game is pretty big deal even on mainstream media.
Tak buďte zdrávy :)
hey fellow Slav
Don't worry, if they continue on the path they're currently on and ignore the many greedy f*ckers on the side, trying to steer them away from it, they won't be small for long. They've got their hearts and minds in the right place and I can't wait to see what more they have in store for us.
Xavathos I they should fix fucking fps drops
Bought it the second it came out, developers like this are the reason why games are still worthwhile.

Now whenever I go to the shops I'm like: "Let's have a word about the price."
Well i got it for free on the epics game store.
Doing that actually got me a deal on my first car
This game is great and all, but it's not historically accurate.
I watch BBC fairly regularly and I have learned from them that the majority of people in medieval Europe were Africans.
I'm sure they'll fix it in the next patch.
and also they had disabled ginger women with a wooden arm leading the imperial army
Depends at which part of europe you talk about, this game is based on 15th centry Kingdom of Bohemia which Africans were almost non existant.

MUST BUY GAME!!!
well, this is the best game i ever play. i thought arma 3 was amazing but this has top it. my only crictise to make this game better.
1. is to have auto block, if the enermy is not in eyesight, because the combat in on auto lock, but i do like the auto lock i think its great. it really really real life,
2. also my bissegt point. i think you should be albe to make a fire, learn hor to make a fire, colect wood, and then hunt then be able to cook your meat.... over the fire, and you should be able to make a bed, anywhere to sleep, for example if your in a forest. if these were added to the game it would be amazing simple no game can compete with this,
3 also the cost of arma is too overprice, while i've killed and looted that many, i made 6k from selling all my loot, so i think arma should be max around 250 grouchen.

Skidmarks its unfinished like a disgusting old mans dick. pay more to finish main quest

Judge Lazar well said brother. Absolutely game of the year deserved. I feel sorry for the people that cannot understand this game.
Judge Lazar lockpicking is easy when you level the skill
Yes it's brilliant... the lock picking sux and saving
I reckon the King of Bohemia should give you knighthood. Arise Sir Mack of No Shits Given.

i am playing video games for 20+ years, and im very passionate about em. i must say, i know many younger people will not understand it, but this is probably the best and most immersive video game i have ever played (well since early 2000s at least). as mack said, there are bugs, but im looking past that, that will be patched, im looking at the core of the rpg.
I did play it, it's not a bad game. I still stand by my comment.
apples and oranges.. KC: D might be compared to W1 as first installment in the series, not the last one, the best thought out, designed and produced.. with enough own money, not to forget.
I agree, this game is so buggy...but its also a gods creation. I can se myself spend 400 hours in this easy
Innerself boring? you must have the attention span of a toddler. KCD is great game made for grown ups. Go play COD, you’ll fit in there.
If you think this game is boring then you probably don't like RPG games in general, because this is one of the best in a long while.
I'm seriously interested in this game, but the bugs...how buggy are we talking? Skyrim buggy?
My experience, no. But i guess it can varry for people. Like i said, I'm 10 hours in, the only few bugs i encountered been one conversation having the same line repeated once more before it moved on and sometimes the textures loading in a bit slow (Standing still and let it load in properly seems to work for me). They also been patching a lot since release.

Boring? For me, it’s hard to imagine people can find this game boring. I’m still enamored with it even after a year and a half!
It’s funny, cause people who would call this game « boring » are the same people who play shit like assassin’s creed, which i would find boring. God be with you!
Same here, this is probably the game that has addicted me the most, making me lose hours of sleep just because I was intrigued of what would come next.
Carsen Grave
Yeah. It’s currently my Favourite Game Of All Time probably till Dying Light 2 comes out.
It's a great game for sure. Some bs here and their but evey game has that.
Dragonmoth
Yeah, I definitely agree. The hardest part of the game for me has gotta be the dog enemies. I have a ton of trouble locking onto them and trying to fight other enemies when they’re around. You’re right tho, most games have some aspects that can be frustrating, but this game is definitely one of my favorites regardless.
I will never EVER get tired of watching Rabbit spam X
There are so many filthy casuals complaining about it being too complicated. Git Gud m8s!
I think the devs already implied that this was for the hardcore RPG crowd, thus filtering out the people this wasn't really aimed at.
especially with the saving system lmao
I'd prefer it even more hardcore, but I'll take it because it's the best game that's come out for years.. it SHITS on W3.
I'm only about 15 hours in but . . This is one of the best RPGs I've played in the past 20 years..
how is the progres going ?
15
that rant at 4:28 may be the best I've ever heard, thank you.
I used to hide until i robbed some decent loot, bought better gear, may i suggest the longsword called Saving grace, it's a great starter weapon.
this game is legendary recommending it to everyone
This game reminds me of the original Gothic games, but with cool combat.
Best game in years, maybe decades... it is all what i was dreaming about but never thought would be made. Thanks WH and a nice rant Worthabuy
Mack thank you, thank you for seeing the greatness that is this game. I’ve played it nonstop since the release and everyone thinks I’m crazy!
Mack your one of the reasons I bought this game, my friend was describing the game to me and it sounded amazing watched your review after and I was sold I love rpg's and this game is awesome thanks for your honesty and great reviews :)
It's called Kingdom Come Deliverance because it was a gift from God to the developers, so that mortal men could experience a truly divine RPG.
"I'm living a medieval life!"
Loved that so much.
I have watched it like 10 times. Best KCD review ever!
People say RDR2, I say: nahh... xD
Boy am I glad I backed this game. Love it!
thank you
Same I backed it last year and holy crap it exceeded my expectations, really really good to play(although I suck at combat need to keep practising)
Same, I backed it like 2,5 years ago just when kickstarter begun. I bought it as a christmas gift for my ex-girlfriend now and now I played it for like an hour, can´t wait to come to her place again and just play fo hours. It is really great game.
Enjoying those large scale battles they promised :P
I fucking love this game and I'm over the moon that Mack does as well. Hopefully KC:D will give other rpg devs *cough*Bethesda*cough* the kick up the arse they need to provide a thoroughly enjoyable rpg experience. I bet Todd Howard is shitting his hose
Nah. the fanboys got his cock so far down their throats its coming out their ass.
GillsFan91 more likely he's too busy working on the skyrim VR2 release, now with even less bug fixes.
Bethesda is just moneymilking company, their games are not THAT good one would want to praise them. They are just overhyped.
Assassin's Wankballs xD
Love Assassins Creed, but love that line
@@bless7070 Assassin's Fucking Wankballs :D
There is a sidequest you get later in the game, in Ushitz, there is a vicar that is searching for heretics. He gives you a copy of an account of someone who had witnessed them but had been tortured for the information. This transcription is the only clue you get and it's written in a way of a man who is having heavy hallucinations (he died from the torture). For an hour irl I search for the heretic's meeting place, using only the books vague hints, I felt so proud when I actually found it, started in the morning and ended at night with a torch in my hand. There were never any quest markers, just you and your wits. Fucking A plus game.
I'm 9 hours in and its already the best game I've ever played. If they could only fix the damn bugs...
They're working on it. Bugs were quite expected to be honest, with such small budget to achieve such complexity and graphics, it was nothing but expected.
Oh, I know. In six months this will become the beautiful gem it was intended to be. I hope we'll hear news of DLC expansions by then, too.
Skyrim was (and still is tbh) buggy as well though, games like this always are. Go and get hit by a giant's club in Skyrim for example :D
SLDonk64 why it seem there more bugs on pc than on console
30 million € , graphics are not that impressive, way too many bugs, this many were not expected at all, you realise there are people who paid 50€ and can't finish the game right?
I keep coming back to watch (hear) this every now and then, probably my favourite rant of all time.
These kinds of games are dying, we need to support these devs.
32 on cd keys
It's sad that people don't even recognise a real game anymore
DAMMIT! I want this so badly...
Adam Jones old turd
Member Berry 😂
Imagine if EQ came out today... People would cringe.
1998? I would argue that games of that era were much less complex than Kingdom Come.
This is the RPG i've always wanted. Finally a game that doesn't hold my hand.
Deus Ex was brilliant. The story turned out to be quite realistic too.
Dude try Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines on gog
Danger Dave that game :/ *could* be fun for me but the stealth is messed up
Tattle Boad well deus ex is as old as me so I'm gonna think it's old, sorry? Like Idk what you want
Mack! i know this vid is like 6 years old now, but I always remember it as one of the best vids ever about RPGs, you couldn't be more right man, and as year pass, this vid seems more relevant. Can't give it a double Like, but at least a comment, wishing you all best as ever mate. Cheers 🍻
4:20 this is my favourite 30 seconds ever
such an excellent game, been playing bits of it during the week and now I'm finally able to dive into it deep this weekend and I'm already loving the shit out of it.
Good for you mate... savour it, like you would a fine wine :D
Hmm... okay I'm gonna give it a tentative go!
This game is now on the top of my list. I've played for 30 hours and I don't feel like over even scratched the surface yet.
Same, and I adore Oblivion like the adoring fan adored you and I.
Therefore, I LOVE this game, you can really tell the devs loved it too.
Don’t forget meeting that priest. That guy is a fucking legend
I got to beat a guy up so I could steal his bad tooth! 😊
One of my favourite things about the game is how much you learn about the middle ages whilst you playing
Yea
Yeah, especially medieval Bohemia which I knew basically nothing about. Turns out it’s incredibly interesting. :)
miro halford and all without a single bug shit insane conspiracy getting pushed on you! *cough Assassins Creed Cough*
Yeah that codex is legit
Good god, this was a breath of fresh air. Subbed.
Fun fact, Dan Vávra and Swen Vincke are friends in real life with huge respect for each other.
Warhorse studios, THANK YOU
For sure. This is one of the few games I go back to when I need to get absolutely lost for a few days.
Happy as shit to see you really loving a game. I'm 3 hours in and just hit the opening credits. Fkng proper
I´m 16, love the witcher 3, but this game is probably the best i ever played, i love it soooo much
Cool
Well, good for you that you had all those great games
Also absolute shit games is a bit of a stretch, we had many great games the last few years, stop being so pessimistic
I'm not that old, just 31.
I feel like it sometimes though, must be the toxicity I've been inhaling for years, like your post.
Yeah, most old games just look a bit... bad, but hey, nostalgia is a thing
I started to get spaced out of games and I really wanted a game that can hook me up again and finally I decided to try Kingdom Come and what a great choice it was ... I love this review cuz it says everything that I wanted to say about this game
Been playing this game like i was on crack. Only reason i stopped, i let my younger siblings use my pc.
Jonathan Same. After two days I played 28 hours... had to take a break from it lol
same, i said goodbye to my life
I remembered to stop and feed the tiny human
Daniel Vavra shared your video on twitter. Good job, Mack!
Really :) Well he deserves praise.
Buy it if you want a very slow burn RPG with a deep story and gameplay.
A game that doesn't tell you how to do everything and doesn't provide instant gratification, of course today's gamers don't like it. Effort is overrated :P
I’d like to see Polygon or IGN to try and play Elderscrolls: Daggerfall.
IGN gave Kingdom an 8.0. Stop acting like youre some special snowflake, the games got universal price.
LordsSky I can assure you that most people can’t figure Daggerfall out. Also, many of the areas/rooms look alike due to DOS’s outdated graphics.
+LordSky If hating IGN for being a bunch of incompetent reviewers only existing to make money by praising AAA games makes you a snowflake, then I am a snowflake.
LordsSky Dude, Ark got a 7.7. While I have sunk way too much time into that game, I will admit it is a glitchy, grindy, and poorly optimized game.
Once a year I come back to this video to feel good again
Same , I just started playing KCD again with a New Game 😀
Same
Okay, you're right.
Thank YOU Mack for telling it how it is and standing up to the corporate suits that run and ruin the gaming industry.
We need more real reviewers like Mack on the industry, IGN and all the other shit are sluts paid by the developers...
Yes this game is amazing, a true gem. I whish I could erase the game from my memory so i can discover it again.
I just started it last week. Glorious.
now i want to try it too
a restart now then, year after? surely you do lose some memory, and i guarantee you will want to try new ways of doing quests. that will lead to new discoveries, new dialogues, and even some quests
Going back to the roots of gaming this game was worth every penny best game i've played. i cant wait to see what they come up with next.
Waiting for a patch or two, can’t wait to get stuck in
I honestly have not had too much trouble. A couple bugs here and there but I've played much worse. (every Bethesda game at release)
rundownaxe haha yeah normally steer clear of Bethesda stuff at launch.
Like I said, I get decent frames. Will try to turn sli off tomorrow.
Turns out you were right. It does run better on just one card. There also an that annoying flicker when inside a building that is gone.
This is currently on Steam sale with 7 DLCs for just £6.99 until 25 April 2024.

"We know of African kings in Constantinople on pilgrimage to Spain; we
know of black Moors in Spain; we know of extensive travel of Jews from
the courts of Cordoba and Damascus; we also know of black people in
large cities in Germany," the historian, Sean Miller, tells me. Czech
cities Olomouc and Prague were on the famous Silk Road which facilitated
the trade of goods all over the world. If you plot a line between them,
it runs directly through the area recreated in Kingdom Come.
"What if a group of black Africans came through and stayed at an inn
and someone got pregnant? Even one night is enough for a pregnancy."

Really enlightening review
I just bought this game and I love it.
Dear Mack,
I started by watching your KCD WAB and have continued watching this. I have never vocally agreed to my laptop screen more than this. This is why you are the only channel i trust! This - is - a - role - fucking - playing - GAME!
Kingdom Come Deliverance has now been released on Xbox Game Pass. I have began playing, and I love it!
Funny, I played KDC again this spring and it was still the best game I played this year.
