    • @iiirdeyeheretik
      @iiirdeyeheretik 5 років тому +2

      The two pieces were likely written at the exact same time, so I would be skeptical of claiming one being inspired by the other. They met themselves LONG after these pieces would have been written. It's entirely possible they were both drawing inspiration from the same source, or they just happened to write similar sounding music as they were both writing music in the same region in the exact same time period. But it's silly to look at this and try to point to one being inspired by the other.

    • @bernhardhofstotter5547
      @bernhardhofstotter5547  9 років тому

      Lutes come in many different forms and variations - there is 'no one size fits all'. Therefore you should think about which music above all you would like to play. If the answer is "baroque", you should go for a baroque lute which would normally have between 11 and 13 courses. There is lots of great music for this instrument with many things still to be discovered. If the answer tends more to "renaissance", you would be better served by a renaissance lute (6 to 10 courses). There are also archlutes and theorbos for which there is not an awful lot of solo music but which are very effective ensemble instruments. Obviously you can improvise music or play your own music on any of these instruments. Once you have made up your mind (listening to different recordings will help), get a decent lute of your choice. And find a good teacher to show you at least the basics. Plucking a lute is very different from playing a guitar. Getting it right from the beginning will save you lots of time! Hope that helps.

      @Themostamazinguy 9 років тому
