My favorite thing about the piece is how shocking the sudden modulation to the minor key in the middle section is. It always fills me with a jolt of deep melancholy.

DeVisee is wonderful, something about his music sounds so modern to me. Wonderful job. And theorbo is such a rich sounding instrument. It has the extra basses like the lute but is single strung like the guitar.

There, on the island of Malta, with stars beginning to appear above them, in a dark blue, early evening sky! - And indeed, while countless people from all around the world are casting their eyes towards a much loved, grieving, bereft Queen, with her family and friends, we all come to one conclusion. - Whoever we are, and wherever we are. - So we shall surely get to know,, if we don't know it already; the ending of The Dance, with someone we love, is the saddest step of all!
