I think its in the right place. You can’t have the button in the position you’re describing because then it would be pressed when you’re holding the phone in landscape. There’s no good way to hold the phone and take a shot, if the button acts as a capacitive menu. If the button didn’t act as a menu, then allowing it to only be triggered with high pressure and skin would work. Try holding your phone that way and see the issue. In portrait, no button is easier to press than the normal button on the screen to capture. Where the volume buttons are would be quite good to place this button but i think the volume buttons are more important.
@@ZeerakImran “It would be pressed of you held it in landscape” No, the button isn’t easily pressed down enough for that to happen. If the button were easier to press down, I’d agree more, but it’s fairly sturdy and takes more conscious effort to press down on and activate.
I suspect Apple didn't want to give too many numbers regarding the improved battery life (other than simply stating it had improved) because they know Apple Intelligence is still going to be rolled out. The headroom needed for the model performing its learning of your personal context and the impact that would have on battery life isn't known yet.
don't think so, Apple already uses a lot of this stuff for spotlight so I'm assuming the new features will be working on the basis of existing information. It can already for example suggest you the time at which you should leave to get to an appointment via public transport etc.

@@matthewsjardine im just a layman so dont know as much aa you guys. Would newer phone require a seperate NPU to perform these tasks? Would that help with battery consumption?
@hubadabubbada No problem 🙂 I welcome these kinds of questions. Most modern smartphones have a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) built into their chip. Apple and Qualcomm have had these in their chips for several years now. They have just gained more cores and better performance over the years. Their performance is measured in trillions of operations per second (or TOPs). Modern AI models require processing power (which they get from an NPU or GPU), a lot of RAM (hence Apple increasing the RAM in the iPhone 16) and it consumes battery. I reckon Apple improved battery this year to offset some of this additional power draw. Optimization will probably be Apple's biggest asset when it comes to keeping battery draw in check. They may also have the phone do most of the battery intensive training while the iPhone charging overnight. This will reduce the amount of battery in consumes during the day. That said, it will still do AI tasks during the course of the day. It will need to. Like the camera, the more you decide to use these features, the more in will consume battery. It you mostly leave them be, I am sure they won't impact you much. I am sure Apple have tested it and are happy that power draw is reasonable.

The iPhone speakers are leagues ahead of any Samsung phones, including foldables. I don't understand why this keeps happening when Samsung owns many audio-specialized brands.
@FeelsGreatBaby They are definitely leagues ahead. Heck, even the Pixel 9 Pro speakers sound richer than the S24 Ultra, and the iPhone's speakers are substantially better than the Pixel's
Cameras too. Everyone will agree with the video recording but for me, pictures leave much to be desired. Reliability and longevity, the ui with its goofier than ever icons and menus. iphone’s ui isn’t exceptional at the moment but one ui has a long way to go. The size of the phones also have started to come down with samsung recently which is nice to see. Also, please don’t make a comment about installing a launcher. Having a 100 options is great. But none of those options come close to the default on ios. Samsung and google’s default have the best chance. They fall short and the other launchers fall leagues behind oneui and pixel. The final thing would be security and drop tests. I would like to see samsung devices become stronger (the flagships not the cheaper ones). I do love samsung displays. My s6 edge’s display made me believe the screen was paper at certain times. It was so good. I miss the display all the time while being on iPhone. Currently, i am leaning on the pixel over samsung but android is now at a stage where it is equal in os stability to ios. It’s not so much that android has improved. iOS and macos have just gotten so much worse. Problem with pixels is their reliability, longevity and generally poor hardware. Their design has improved massively this year. But they’re adamant on destroying the pixel line with their own tensor chip. Just as samsung is with their exynos. Pixel software is really nice but google is a problem. Their business model isn’t hardware sales and companies don’t spend billions in the hope of getting nothing in return. Data collection and enterprise is their only business model.
Poor song choice for speaker test, couldn't hear any difference, because the song was distorted vocal dominated, and all the other sounds were also distorted. To test a song containing precise details and sound with wider range of more dynamic frequencies used.
Finally someone said it. The camera button is a gimmick and the placement of the volume and power buttons on either side aint great When the action button got added everyone now realized that it's position sucked. The same had been true for me with the volume buttons Imo it would be better if the volume buttons were on the right and the power button on the left instead of the other way round that everyone does
The button is functional, but I believe its placement could be improved. Replacing it with the power button might make more sense, especially since we often use vertical photos now, not horizontal. Mentioned a visual intelligence feature for opening, but Android already offers a double-tap option to open the camera and customization for the power button, so it's essentially the same. Apple often adds features that seem unnecessary and manages to convince people they are essential. The large notch, now called Dynamic Island, uses the same animation to blend in seamlessly. However, the question arises: what's the point of having a notch for the last 5-6 years when Android has already eliminated it 2-3 years ago? The animations Apple uses with the notch are just some ways to manipulate people's perceptions of it. I also believe that it is possible to display good animation without a notch.
I agree that the power button positioning makes sense but that would destroy security and functionality which is more important. More options doesn’t equal more functional. Mostly it means flimsy. If i press the lock button, it means lock. If that ever fails, i’m selling the phone or laptop. 99.9% is not good enough in this case. It needs to be 99.9999999999%. Where failure just isn’t measured. In certain cases, it’s not when it works thats important, but when it doesn’t work. Like the camera app. It may work 99% of the time but that one time i needed it quickly and it randomly took forever to launch or took a blurry picture due to high shutter lag, that phone is getting tossed. The lock buttton can’t be replaced. Also, if you hold the lock button and the volume button at the same time (you can do this in your pocket) for 3 seconds, you will feel a vibration. This will lock the hell out of your phone (works on macs too) and disable biometrics. Biometrics btw are legally allowed to be taken by force or deception whereas the pin isn’t. Even if we are safe, its a feature designed for everyone including journalists… it also disables other features for security and allows you to call sos via satellite for help. Can’t mess with that button.
From this video, it seems that it does not have many new features, but the performance for gaming (16 pro max vs 15 pro max) in terms of fps and CPU usage is much better.
Great video. Agree, that it is NOT worth the upgrade from a 15 for sure. I had higher hopes for the camera button, the presentation and idea is cool, but likely needs some refining or adjustments to make it more functional. My wife upgraded her 13 to the 16, which is a nice upgrade all around, and after playing with the camera button, I can't help but to think that this may end up like 3D touch, or the touch bar on the MacBook Pro. For now I'm happy with my pixel and the initial desire to switch back to iphone has died down.
This trend of comparing phones to last years model has to stop. Why would anyone "upgrade" from previous model ? Flagships are phones you can actually use for 2-3 years minimum (especially Iphone) without being left without latest and greatest features. Camera control button is the most useless shit ever
Camera Control is a gimmick - fiddly, slow and stupid as the on screen options are already there and are much faster to access. Who the *@!(! has the time to do Camera Control when taking a quick picture ?! ?! Please
but there are few PRO's for 15 pro vs 16 pro:
PROS:
+ Better thermals;
+ Improved battery performance probably due to improved thermals, cpu optimization + screen capable of going as low as 1hz;
+ Bigger screen although in real life usage its effect is minimal;
CONS:
-Heavier
-Slightly larger frame !!!very!!! slightly affecting one hand usage
-useless button called Camera Control
It's definitely a scam
Not really.. They could legally sell the 15pm for 1200 for 3 years as long its a new device. Improvements are a way to stay in the game but not a requirement to sell the device.
120hz Display but Apple limits it to 80hz...
2nd
3rd
1st
display is still throttled to 80hz 95 percent of the time !!!! while marketing it as a 120hz device !! this is something to talk about !! it has been going on for 4 years and is false advertising !!!! we paid for a 120hZ device only to have it throttled to 80hz !!!!! HUGE PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE COVERED !!!!!!!
Basically useless gimmick
