- 👋 In todays video it's time to go over a buyers guide for a very popular luxury focused SUV! We are talking about the BMW X5! This is the first ever BMW SUV that was produced and has gone through a lot of changes over the years since its introduction to the public! For reference, I currently own a 2022 BMW X5 xDrive45e, which is the plug in hybrid! After driving numerous BMW X5's over the years filming reviews along with this being my wife's dream SUV, we finally own one and have no regrets! It's such a cool SUV that has a lot to offer and so many different options are available!
In this video I go over a bunch of information regarding the BMW X5 from the generations, to the pricing for all the trim levels along with maintenance and any issues/recalls to watch out!
If you are in the market for a luxury focused SUV, there are a lot of options out there, but I think the BMW X5 is the best bang for the money! You can find these like new in the $40K to $100K range, which is a big range, but it depends on the trim level and mileage.
I honestly wouldn't recommend buying a new BMW unless you either just want one, or don't have an issue loosing a bit of money.
I bought a really good used model and saved about $15k or so. If you buy used, you need to make sure about warranties that may carry over from the previous owner or look into an extended warranty for piece of mind.
My plan with this BMW X5 (since it's our first hybrid as well), is to keep it until the warranty period is up and figure out which model to go with next!
The BMW X5 is a great SUV and one that I think many people only own for a few years at a time before getting the next new model! But for those that want to own it longer, just make sure you keep up with the maintenance and know that something could go wrong out of warranty or several years later!
It's a great vehicle and I have no regrets in even buying one after this! I hope you found this helpful!

I love mine! Funny I’ve had my 2024 for almost a year! I ordered it last April and it came in about 4 weeks later! I’m really enjoying it. The new interior is really nice and it rides so smoothly. Just a great spacious powerful suv…plus it looks great and stylish too! I’m glad I got the 22 inch black wheels with the m sport package. Definitely worth it. Your videos are always so informative!
I think I took your advice and got the 22-inch wheels, in black. Got tanzanite blue x drive 40i with the M Sport pro package, so there is no chrome on the car except the badges, which you know. It arrived in about 5 weeks in early December. Great car, and I don’t find the ride harsh.

I leased a 2024 X5 50e in September. My vehicle is currently at the dealer waiting for a new dashboard screen. The Navigation screen is functional but the tachometer screen decided to f*ck off. My service coordinator reached out to me yesterday and said that a new screen was being shipped at the eye watering cost of $7,800! He said that X5’s are their best sellers (I’m in NYC) and he has never seen a screen issue before. Anyhow, I love the brand, love the platform, love the PHEV system as I get 40-50 miles per charge. Also, I love the B58. Very disappointed at the current repair… but I guess it’s a crab shoot with these issues. 🤷♂️

how would you compare this to the new cayenne hybrid? which one is better?
Very comparable. You'll pay a bit more for the Porsche tho option for option. But the Porsche is a great car. So just depends on your budget

I have recently bought 2021 CPO 40i. How come your vehicle has 6 years warranty? Have you purchased an extended warranty?
I didn’t purchase any extensions, that was just part of the warranty available on the car.
It HAS to have an extended warranty. The base warranty is 4 years.

I am thinking of trading my 2021 X3 M40I for a newer X5 with low miles. I wonder if it's a good idea. I do love the Sound of my car.
What are the issues with x3 m40i?
None actually just a little more thirsty for gas. I am not complaining.
Just depends on if you need a larger vehicle!
An X5 M60 would go through gas as well lol!
I have the 45e, I don't have the sound which I'm trying to see about fixing, but gets great mpg!
