I do understand what you are talking about. I have suffered from the same thing all my life. And because of my personality changes I have lost most of my friends throughout my life. I thought perhaps I was the only one suffering from this.
Don't be hard on yourself. You are awesome. I was surprised to see you on carnivore. I noticed in the later videos of you on carnivore, your eye tracking is slower and more controlled. I am heading to carnivore through the keto diet but I to have my days of weakness. I am currently also taking krill pills (for the heart) mushroom pills (helps the intestines a lot) and liquid iodine and selenium. I take liquid iodine (one drop is the daily recommended amount) and vary the dose but the selenium you have to be careful with. All of this is helping my health. The iodine is crucial for nerve health. I wish you the very best.
Before talking about the role of sugar I have to say: get a bike and ditch your car. Exercise and human centric travel is the BEST anti-depressant (free and no side effects). It will also force you to eat better naturally (in my experience). I recomend a bike since you say that you have some bone problems, as a bicycle is very, very easy on your body as compared to running on concrete. The thing with Sugar is that it is essentially a "raw form" of energy from the body's perspective. Carbohydrates are broken down to sugar, however this takes time. Think about an extended release medicine as an analogy. For example, if you eat 200 calories of potato (which is a starch) you will feel those 200 cals over time as opposed to drinking 200 cals of sugar water. Think of it like the difference between having to pump water by hand from a well vs. being given a full bucket of water. When you survive off of sugar your body uses it up very quickly and then when it runs out it has to start looking around for whatever else it can scramble and scrape for... Your body will go into ketosis much faster if you are eating plane sugar as opposed to starches and longer chain carbs... Thus, sugar puts you in the roller coaster ride which is why you probably get hangry and snap! NOW, THERE ARE PLACES WHERE EATING SUGAR IS VERY HELPFUL. Back when I was in better shape and doing 100 mile bike rides we always carried some sugar cubes with us. When you start to feel like you are hitting the wall you take the sugar to prevent that because it acts almost instantly. Eating a protean bar is good, but it will only start to help you 10 or 20 miles down the road as opposed to the right now of hitting the wall. We also used to eat a good portion of carbs on the day of the ride so that we would have an energy store to use... going full Carnivore is a terrible idea for athletic performance (high protean helps you build muscle and aids in recovery... but I certainly don't want to be in ketosis for physical exertion). Cutting sugar is certainly a good idea, especially if you don't live an active lifestyle... there is NO real benefit for the spike in energy sugar gives you in most cases (however, let's say that you are behind on work and are tired... this is the place to drink some sugar water!). The overall advice is to be mindful of what you are doing when you ingest something. Am I really about to hit the wall, or do I just want to have the drug-like spike?
This is not about therapy -I don't suffer from depression but I suffer from exactly what she suffers from If I eat sugar - my personality changes completely. I become forgetful, angry, quiet, and cannot hold a conversation anymore. I also find it very difficult to stop eating sugar and processed foods, I have lost most of my friends because of what she is talking about. There are times when I exercise and stop for months and then I become a total different person.
I love you so much. I’m so happy i found your channel. I hope you have less anxiety soon.
