- New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara skips Saints' final minicamp practice over contract. Running back Alvin Kamara was absent from the New Orleans Saints' final practice of mandatory minicamp Thursday. Kamara's agent, Brad Cicala, told NFL Network that Kamara's absence was contract-related. Alvin Kamara was at the facility on Thursday for the Saints' walk-through but left right before the Saints opened practice to the media later that morning. In this video, James Skrmetta reacts to Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints contract dispute and contract negotiations. Alvin Kamara wants a new deal! What should the Saints Consider? Kamara has two years left on the five-year, $77 million deal he signed in September 2020. Kamara missed five practices at the end of August 2020 before signing the new contract that year, but he maintained that he never held out for a new deal.

Really hard to say but all I saw last year was a guy that couldn’t break any tackles… maybe it was the O C but when he did get 1 v 1 last year he often didn’t break it
Alvin already said he don't care about or look at stats. I think he just wants security. Stats sort of determine what your worth paying though.⚜️
Stats is what you bitter Carr groupies use to try and justify Carr's failure! 💯😆😆😆
@@goldenking562LBC They can't cut a check because you have long hair and arched eye brows. They have to look at your production. DUH!😆
@@divineeternity7268 Typical bitter Carr groupie trolling on a burner account! 💯😆😆😆
@@divineeternity7268 Typical bitter Carr groupie in his feelings! 💯 Smh😆😆😆
No way your reacting to daboot tragedies!!! You both are my favorite saints youtubers !!!!! 😂😂😂
Same! Both of these guys are the best when it comes to saints content.
@jssimmonsnss easily! No debates no nothing. These 2 are the best 👌
Would be a decent collab 💯
Same man 😂
No on the collab, and why do you like Daboot tragedies?
Remember we’re talking about a guy that could have been suspended way more than he was just last year. If I was in charge I would restructure him to 3 years at 12 million with incentives to reach 15 or 16 million for two years with the out for the third year. It’s basically the same contract with one more guaranteed year.
25M guaranteed but the deal itself being a 36M 3yr deal. Wouldn’t be bad I think that’s a fair offer
Kamara is not the player that he was three years ago. He still has two years left on his contract. With guaranteed money only this year. Look at it this way he hasn’t played a whole season the last three years and he still gotpaid. Kamara is in the same category as Thomas and Winston. Kamara is bad for the locker room. He is definitely not a team player. He is all about getting paid even if he doesn’t perform like he needs to. The Saints should let him know that at the end of this season a new contract will be under consideration. This will give him incentive to show the team if you still has IT or not. What have you done for the team lately. Not much!
😭😭what you done for me lately Kamara 😕
This the dumbest take I ever heard
You & Daboot tragedies would be a fire collab. You guys are both unbiased when it come to the saints 🔥
The Saints to watch what they are doing when it comes to Kamara. Look what happened to Dallas with Elliot. As soon as they paid him he completely sucked as a player.
He's already been paid what are you talking about
You and daboot should collab
Been saying this
That’ll happen right around never. Daboot isn’t as polished, knowledgeable and struggles with a lot of pronunciations that are basic and everyone can pronounce the names.
@@ccarter_46 🦧
Josh Jacobs is a far more valuable player than Alvin Kamara
need to just clean house of all the sean payton guys
Hope it includes staff… DA can flex as well should he fail this season
Best case scenario he goes back to being DC only. Get that old grumpy guy from up east as HC
@@geoffhoutman1557lol what is wrong people. SA is never going to be the DC on the saints ever again. He is either the HC or Nothing.
Hey James great as always. Can you do a video breakdown using the 49ers offense from last year and speculate the Saints players in the same plays to see how they might stack up on some of the plays? Like if AK would have gotten that same screen or if Shaheed got that same crossing route etc.
He better play lol my wife just bought me a Kamara jersey for Father’s Day 😂
The thing about channels like yours and Daboot tragides is that you guys make realistic talking points about the reality of the situation. Not hyperbolic narratives about whatever mainstream sports media comes up with to annoy the public with today
Big true
James, don’t fall into the trap of paying for past production, my man. I know it’s very tempting, and even NFL GM’s fall for this sometimes, but Kamara has to get a contract based on what he can realistically expect to contribute to the offense in 2025, 2026, 2027, etc (taking into consideration the new offense and every other factor, of course).
We can not pay Kamara based on what he did for the team from 2017-2021…
I agree. I also think he's going to be very productive this year.
He has to have a great season before acting like he is the top rb and even if he has one I dont think they should give him more than 2 years
I'd say he's Top 10, which puts him around 8-10 a year
2 fav saints analyst
Top tier
Yeah, DaBoot's fantastic.
Good stuff
Saints have said how much they gravitate toward good character players. Do you think what he did in Vegas is a factor in the negotiations?
I do not
Yeah he can hope he gets a deal like CMAC but the argument holds no weight. Let’s get real folks.
Hey James are you related to "Captain Pete" ?
It’s the off season videos about certain players not going to practice, doing this and that is all overblown by the media usually more than likely it’s getting done behind doors and by the end everyone is happy. This is that situation AK41 will get his guaranteed money, saints will keep the biggest key of the nucleus, and hopefully he performs and we get a 10 win season somewhere in that ball park. Than build off that im just ready to see what’s going to happen bc either way if we do good enough for a playoff spot we in the playoffs but if we are bad my dreams come true and DA is gone pecan so either way the experiment works which I think and hope it can or it fails and DA ultimately proves he just can’t ever be HC
Pay him and give him an heavy incentive based deal. If he has a good year, let him earn it and extend as well.
This is the way
Da booottttt
One of the best
I just don’t see Alvin here after 2024. He wants money that his stats hasn’t earned. Perhaps he flashes and we sign something mid season but cmon I want to see how he performs in the new system first, and in fairness to Kubiak I think he should be part of the decision for who we commit to in 2025. Coaches like picking their dudes.
In fairness to AK, I need to Kubiak to prove he can properly execute calling plays…🤷🏾♂️
@@BrentonBannister-gc2pt that’s the thing. We need to see if the marriage can even work for both sides. Maybe there’s doubt in Kubiak maybe not, but I think for everyone’s sake future contracts should stay on hold until a few weeks into the season
Maybe a 2 year deal..he wasn't productive the past season so was the rest of the team..how many touchdowns the last 2 seasons.. but if the team plays well I think he'll play well..
2 years sounds about right
I don’t care for Kamara. He doesn’t come across as having passion for the game or team. He’s only playing for the money and doesn’t affect the game enough to justify his attitude.
I think he's not one of those politically correct players. He's not afraid to be himself and honestly that makes him the opposite of a fraud.
Bot comment
Wake up, bud. You just posted a lazy take…
Bs. Kamara is a elite rb and the engine of the offense, and is the most important player on the offense
Or it’s just buisiness to him he gets payed for being good at what he does he’s a vet an he’s being a leader on this team
Kamara bout to put work in this year.. Anyone who thinks different.. Especially in this offense yall trippin
Bounce back season incoming for Kamara
@@JamesSkrmetta 🫡
Looks like AK needs to go next year for whatever we can get.
It won't be a trade
@@JamesSkrmetta if he wants CMAC $ we can sign him to an extension then trade him next year and not have the same cap hit. I’d rather keep him and someone bring him down to earth and let him know he doesn’t have CMAC numbers. And revisit his $ after a season in Kubiaks offense
I think him and his agent want 16-18 mill a year, 2-3 year extension. I hope Loomis can get him at 14 or 15mill a year, 2-3 year extension. Hopefully Loomis can make it happen!
So Derek gets a pass bbecause of the bad line but a.k is just washed? Man yall ignorant
THANK YOU!!!! F8nally someone said it. MFs gave Carr excuse after excuse based on o line play but now kamara can't get that that's crazy
Daboot doesn’t have a realistic view to or grasp on things. It’s pretty rough to listen to.
3/21 mil/16 guaranteed 🧐🧐
Little short. He's going to be closer to $10 a year
6million next year with incentives or see ya later
That's way too low
I get so tired of racist complaining when black athletes want to get paid. If this was Caitlin Clark y'all would be saying they wrong for not paying her its bs ak has been a awesome player and very committed to the Saints now I wouldn't give it to him this year cause he didnt do shit last year but that was due to coaches I think he is going to ball this year and then pay the man .
Shout out to Daboot tragedies
Shouts
Carmichael and DA ruined Kamara’s potential HOF career.
Hopefully AK proves everyone wrong in this new system.
The disrespect of these comments is wild. Kamara is much better then his stats last season. On top of that hes been a huge influence in the locker room with the leadership he brings. Pay this man his money and let him retire as a Saint. Its not like the RB market is getting paid crazy money anyway.
People stat watch and it’s annoying lol even by eye test u can see the difference from when keandre or Jamal was in as opposed to Alvin for the offense
I agree there is too much disrespect, but there is also some truth to what is being said. AK is getting a pass from many fans despite nearly bottom of the league production. Sure, Carmichael and the line didn't help, but those were just excuses when discussing Carr. 🤷🏿♂️
Pay him UNLESS he wants Top 2 money. All for giving him fair value.
No AK on this team (if traded), you can forget the offense working
Taysom Hill is going to take RB stats. Miller is a better runner Kamara probably a better receiver
Mickey better make this shit happen if not a whole lot of fans are gonna be pissed including me!!
What do you think is a fair deal, let’s hear your take?
2 or 3 years at the most 10 to 12 mill a year
@@jasonsikes7366 man we can’t lowball him like that. That won’t happen.
That's basically what he been making I think he just wants years added and more guaranteed money
@@jasonsikes7366 we’ll have to see what they offer as far as his guaranteed for sure. Hope Loomis can make it happen in a way that doesn’t overpay him but properly compensates him. I’m thinking him and his agent our wanting 16-18 a year, 2-3 year extension and I hope I’m wrong.
You underestimate the value and importance of a good running back and Kamara has more chance of becoming a Raider than Adams becoming a Saints player! 💯😆😆😆
I think Adams miss having somebody that know how to throw him the ball. Good luck with that QB situation though.😆⚜️
@@divineeternity7268 Adams wants to win not have mediocre QB that hasn't won a playoff game in 10 years and that only has 1 playoff appearance throw him the ball casual fanboy! 💯😆😆😆
@@goldenking562LBC bruh I know you’re not talking about Devante because Packers definitely offered him plenty of money but he went for max pay to a terrible franchise he was not trying to win at all.
@@goldenking562LBC Adams chose Derek Carr over the comfort of a team he had success with. Don't get it twisted. He never wanted to be a Raider faboy! The truth hurts.😆⚜️
@@divineeternity7268 You're a casual! Adams always wanted to play for the Raiders because he grew up a Raiders fan that's why when we finally got rid of Carrbage he came out and said that he came to Vegas to be a Raider not because of Carr casual fanboy! 💯😆😆😆
