    Just bought my 2010. Using this (and the rear wheel vid) to change tires this week. I don't have a service manual yet. Anyone know where I can get the torque numbers for reassembly? Love the videos, best out there!! Thanks!

    No plastic brakeline loop that pushes into the fender and unclips from the back of the fender ?? Mines a '11 also, i just loosed the fender, remove the wheel, then unclip them.
    I havent figured another way with the wheel on the bike.
    Great vid 👍🏼

    Love your videos, I can tell you put a lot of effort into clean and clear angles. Thank you! Watching the front wheel removal, did you have the rear wheel off while removing the front? Its okay if I remove both wheels and leave the bike on the center stand and car jack while I get the new tires mounted? Also, I was wondering why you zip-tied the brake before removing rear wheel. Thank you so much!

    • @cruisecontrol808
      @cruisecontrol808  2 роки тому

      Yes, I had already removed the rear wheel and left the bike on the stand & jack while I had new tires put on. The zip tie is to help prevent rolling the front wheel, when removing the rear - not totally necessary but it's in the service manual

      Thanks, Cruise! Any concern with weight shifting to back of bike when I remove the front wheel? Do I need to secure the rear end when I remove the front with the rear already off? Thank you for your time!

    • @cruisecontrol808
      @cruisecontrol808  2 роки тому

      @@heathesara No and no. Most of the weight comes from the engine and fuel in the tank which is positioned between the center stand and car jack - it's quite stable but adding more restraints for peace-of-mind isn't a bad idea

    I have the '11 also only 15k miles, put brand new Dunlops front and back now steering head wobble at 40-50.. I think Michelins came from factory might have to put those back on😢

    Like your content bruh and sub'd you, if not for a jumping off point. I noticed you did not loosen the pinch bolts for the front axle. I would think this would need to happen. Am I missing something? Cheers and Aloha!

    • @cruisecontrol808

      Thank you for your support! According to the service manual, only the front right axle clamp bolts need to be loosened which I did at 4:36. Aloha my braddah

    Love the Connie, Mine has 79 thousand miles on it and still looks, rides and drives like brand new. I hate to be captain obvious but you only need to loosen the pinch bolts on the one side right? You dont have to loosen the left correct? Just bought me a ZX14r and they are the same.

  • @seatime674
    @seatime674 Рік тому

    So for the Axle removal its a 22mm hex correct?. Hopefully Lowe's or Home Depot has that

    • @cruisecontrol808
      @cruisecontrol808  Рік тому

      I've heard some people use the back end of a spark plug socket. They just thread an extension thru from the other side. Never tried it myself though 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @seatime674
      @seatime674 Рік тому +1

      @@cruisecontrol808 That would definitely work with a long extension but the 13/16 spark plug socket end is a wee bit smaller than the insert and might strip with lot of force if it's super tight but loosing the fork lock bolts enough it should work👍👍

    • @seatime674
      @seatime674 Рік тому

      @@cruisecontrol808 Haha totally worked.. I wrapped a little foil tape around the socked hex to make in totally snug took up a little slack and put an extension all the way through the Axle came right off.💪..Down side is my 2 black plastic fender brake line cir clips broke trying to remove them just brittle with age,, if you know where I can get those 2 let me know 🙃

    Does the fender and caliper need to come off? Can't you just slide it out with out doing that?

      He loosened them only on the right side. I think you leave the left side tight to keep that side from spinning
