Cillian does his best interviews outside the showbiz circuit, he's really passionate about the art but has no time for the glamour. Check out his Corcadorca interview for similar.
As Europeans, we grow up watching American movies, so we have more practice and experience with that accent. The guys in the US don't get the experience or grow up watching European movies so all are different accents they don't have how much access to
I was a kid in the 90s i also remember watching all those American shows including knight rider, incredible hulk, Baywatch, dukes of hazard, murder she wrote, kojak, Columbo, back when RTE was actually watchable.
Why did she find it so amusing that RTE the Irish Public TV broadcaster would refuse to perpetuate British cultural colonialisation of Ireland post Independence by refusing British content in favour of homegrown and US/European content. Irish history is not very funny, especially to the Irish.
"Do you have a picture of him?"
😂 he's so effortlessly hilarious
Love how he keeps his Cork accent
One of the best interviews I’ve seen with Cillian

It's true in Ireland in the 80s and 90s when the conflict with the Brits in the north of Ireland was ongoing it was all American TV we grew up on.

because she clearly said really? before realising the clear reason why not
British colonialisation - blah, blah, blah - it's like a broken record - you speak English - get over it.
I don't think she understood where he was coming from, especially the context of colonialism and the dark history. American ignorance.
Agree...as an Indian, I whole heartedly agree
