I loved his portrayal of the Scarecrow
Like a good Dr 😂
Never give up to save Batman😂
I liked him as scarecrow but I feel like they could’ve done so much more with that character. He could’ve been much more than just a throwaway secondary villain.
@@jeremyroberts8822 for sure, being randomly added back into TDKR was incredibly odd given his lack of actual dimension in Batman Begins. Can't say I hated any screentime of his though.
Same
ohh yeaah
"The Bat Man!" was a great delivery.
Murphy is an A-Class actor and he made Crane his own. Indeed if not for how Murphy pulled it off, then I don't know we would have gotten Arkhamverse Scarecrow how we did.
I can't believe Batman Begins is already 18 years ago and it felt fresh in my mind!
The Batman Begins batsuit is my favorite batman suit of all time. Screw his nonsense about not able to turn his head lol. That scene when Gordon gives him the joker card is my favorite look of Batman!
Nolan got his casting for Batman pretty much spot on throughout - obviously Bale, Cillian, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman & then the later films obviously the late but truly great Heath Ledger seemed an odd choice to many as the Joker at the time but boy oh boy was it the right call & even Aaron Eckhart - often overshadowed by Ledger’s genius but his turn as two face was phenomenal
Thank you so much for leaving out his interpretation of Bane. Absolutely no offense to the actor that portrayed him. I am a fan of Hardy's contributions otherwise.
Loved Bale as Bruce Wayne but not his Batman!
@@mikekaraokeaside from the Batman voice, what did you dislike about it?
You do no it’s just pretending
@IDontBuyIt50i like the two face turn more than the Joker sequence if I’m being honest
Did a beautiful job as Scarecrow and to this day is the inspiration for so many artists all over the world on how to draw/portray him. Brilliant and fun fella and hope to see more of him (after a well earned break lol)
I love Batman Begins, but my only complaint was it needed more Scarecrow
Scarecrow needed more cowbell.
Man i never would have guessed he felt that way, his portrayal of Scarecrow was brilliant
No one else can play Scarecrow. ;)
That movie was the first time I'd seen Cillian Murphy.
His performance was mesmerizing.
His performance was so profound that I said “Look it’s Scarecrow” when I saw the trailer to Oppenheimer.
@@richardgatling4663 What do you mean ? The way you wrote it sounds sarcastic but im not sûre.
That being said Cillian Murphy was a really good Scarecrow indeed and i wish we would have seen him more often as he waa very well used ( the character ) .. i still remember the scen when he is on a horse in the city, the atmosphère was really dark, great for Batman
@@Pablo-ig7tx I mean to say that his performance as the Scarecrow was really good. I’m glad he is getting more roles in movies and shows.
No one else can play scarecrow? Don’t get me wrong he was good but dude it’s a comic book character, literally any actor with enough talent can portray him lol
Scarecrow was in all three Nolan Batman movies.
Jonathan Crane was in Titans
We got eyes
I think he meant Scarecrow as a character in a different universe/timeline outside the Nolan trilogy. Like we’ve had Batman in the past and Nolan’s Batman, but we haven’t had any other versions of Scarecrow (right?)
So was Batman
@@TheSometimeAfter Coincidence?!?
I hope he's given a more comedic role in the future. If anything, his Scarecrow character definitely had some funny quirks and his delivery is kind of effortlessly humorous in that role. It's something I hope he taps into as time goes on. RDJ certainly sunk his teeth into more comedic roles but is also a helluva dramatic actor. Maybe both of them in another film in the future would be great too--i bet they both learned a lot from each other working together in Opp.
Loved in the room scene with Falcone and showing his mask
Sadly that actor died weeks ago
Excellent Crane. Hope i see him again for part 4. Another cameo would be so appreciated.
Yes pls
I love how Cillian comes out of his shell in this interview, props to the interviewer! ❤
Josh is such a great interviewer. His passion for the process is infectious.
The Scarecrow 😍
He seems like such a down-to-earth guy. That's one reason why everyone loves him!
If they ever made a film adaptation of Arkham Knight, I feel like he’d be perfect as that version of the Scarecrow too
I enjoyed hearing Cillian say a couple of sentences while the interviewer fucking prattled on for ages. Really excellent imo. Brilliant way of gaining insight.
I just pictured Gary Oldman pulling the scarecrow mask out of his jacket welt pocket and waving it in front of Cillian like Truman.
He was in both sequels, just not as a featured character - the action bit at the beginning of TDK and the mock court bit in TDKR.
Yea, when he said that I was like that is wrong!
Death…or exile?
He's still slight physically. Brilliant actor.
Absolute perfect actor to play Oppenheimer. If he doesn't win the Oscar its a travesty.
He would also make a great riddler.
Cillian Murphy I am truly your biggest fan You are always the best I love you so much I wish you success always❤️
I will bet you $1,000,000 there are bigger fans than you. No offence.
@@mondo_burrito There is no fan of Cillian Murphy except me. I dream about him every day and think about him every second and every minute because I love him so much too. Every one of us has his own opinion.
@@-Saijo.Juri. that seems like an unhealthy obsession. Are you ok?
@@mondo_burrito Yes I'm fine why?
sold! to the man in the cold sweat… death… by exile!
Classic!
Any chance we can get a SMALLER chair for Cillian??🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
he killed that roll
I think one of the most funny lines is from him in Dark Knight Rises: "Death... by exile"
There has been other incarnations, Titans had a Scarecrow who took over Wayne Manor, controlled Red Hood and smoked weed. Both were awesome.
He seriously does NOT look that much older than he did in the early 2000’s when he was doing the Batman movies (and the VERY underrated RED EYE that same year!)
On a different note, this is the guy that would have been an Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077. His voice and attitude would have been an epic fit.
Dude knocked it out of the park as the Scarecrow.
An amazing Scarecrow
The Scarecrow was in the animated Batman series, but not in any live action Batman movie. It remains Cillian Murphy's stamp for now...
You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain
Que actor por favor el mejor👏👏👏
He's the only villain that's in all three Batman movies.
This audtioning brought him his first Oscar! Great choice by Cilian!
He should’ve been the second villain in dark knight
I think a dark adaptation of scarecrow with cillian as the lead would be great lol
Fuck man I love the Irish accent
28 Days Later i was a fan.
Seeing that in the theater was very memorable. It really put a new spin on an old genre.
BATMAN Begins
Scarecrow Begins
Great Dark Knight Trilogy ❤
Legend
He'd have been perfect for Reeves' version of Batman.
Loved him as Crane
Watched it last night always a great movie
They should have a standalone scarecrow movie ❤
Such a gem.
Anyone reading this looking for a great underrated Cillian Murphy film watch ANTHROPOID.
This guy is the perfect ScareCrow.
He was awesome
I appreciate Cillian’s honesty. He’s a brilliant actor but seeing his Batman audition his face under the mask didn’t really look like “Batman” and he was rail thin back then.
He looked good in the mask
I can totally get behind this guy as Voldemort.
Perfect
I liked that franchise they way they put him in all 3,only downside was Katie holmes not being able to shoot the sequel
3:50 no talk, just Demonstrate. Great clip
Despite being a great actor and having the physicality for the role, Cillian Murphy knew that he wasn't the right fit for Batman. He felt that the role required a certain level of intensity and gravitas that he didn't possess. Instead, he was cast as Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, a role that he felt suited him better. Murphy's portrayal of the Scarecrow was widely praised and he became a memorable part of the franchise.
For a moment I thought this was an episode of Half in the Bag.
Who are these two frauds? And what have they done with well known celebrity Rich Evans?
4:25 "oh yeah, that's right, i don't care" lol
he was perfect for Dr crane
That character was the first time for me seeing him in a movie. I thought he for sure was at least a little bit like that character in real life but i was completely wrong
Cillian is a genius
I think Cillian would have been great, but Christian was formidable and set the standard.
We need a scarecrow movie.
After watching Peaky Blinders, he would EASILY make a great Batman. And he has a great deep voice, he would not need trickery. But his main obstacle is that he is too short to be a big Avenger of the night. Maybe he could do Grendel instead. As Hunter Rose doesn't need to be big.
The most good-looking Scarecrow
Maybe cast Cillian Murphy as Batman this time in the new Brave and the Bold movie.
That genius fell apart in Tenet.
He was perfect as Scarecrow
Imagine another christopher nolan with cillian as the main villan, and chritian bale also back.
"Would you like to see my mask?"
Let's see Paul Allen's scarecrow
His Batman audition is terrifying. He comes off like a serial killer.
Where is the full interview?
This was the first movie I ever saw with Cillian in. Was this his first big part? What was he in prior?
Only thing sad about his portrayal of scarecrow was that it was too short
He was perfect for scarecrow I was terrified to be honest 😅
But he would have been awesome as Dilingers son in Tron Legacy he didnt even get anything apart from 15 mins of the film.
But he had it and should have been the storys main plot
He was pretty good as Scarecrow, but I think John Noble's portrayal of Scarecrow in Batman Arkham Knight is the best one so far.
Give him rent!
If Batman Begins was made now with Cillian in the part, they definitely would have changed it so he's the big villain and not a supporting role.
"Real Men" cross their legs when sitting.
Why is this filmed on the set of Half in the Bag?
Death or exile?
These actors who have those American accents ... wow. Dude don't sound NOTHING like his stage voice! 😮
Wut? Wrong scarecrow was greatly portrayed.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This guy needs to let the actors talk more.
I was thinking exactly that and then saw your comment.
Who is this interviewer and how does he get these celebs
you need to lighten Up
No you were not right for Batman.
But you were perfect for Scarecrow
Cillian Murphy wasn't right for Batman same way Robert Pattinson isn't right for Batman
Htw took the part and the paychecks though.
Anybody seen his Batman screen test???? 🤤🤤🤤
Yes, it’s on here somewhere. Search it and you should find it
Josh please please please bring pedro pascal to the show we need him an interview with him❤pleaseeeeeeeeee
Help me, UA-cam Comment Section. I'm an idiot. What are "sides"?
Wait? Who is he in buttfam?
How does a guy with 86k subs get an Oscar award winning actor for interview? That’s a genuine question.
Huh ???
nepotism.
He literally worked for MTV as an interviewer/host for like 10 years or something
Love him, but why did he say red eye was a b movie 😂 the movie made 100 million on a 20 million dollar budget.
he has mentioned before that he didn't like his own performance. He said in the SAG interview that Rachel Mcadams was brilliant in the film.
Because it’s a pulpy genre film, by design. B-movie doesn’t mean low quality or low budget. I mean, “Tremors” is one of my favourite movies, and it’s totally a B-movie.
He was so scary in Red Eye but he made the character likable in the beginning.
Yeah it doesn’t mean financially speaking, or as a derogatory term. Just the genre and style - it’s also had a resurgence the last 15 years or so. Most of Liams Neeson’s action thrillers are b-movie type affairs.
A bit slight ? Guys a twig
You talked too much in this, Josh. Keep the questions short and open-ended, and let the actors speak.
the TDK trilogy is massively overrated, only the 2nd movie is an actual masterpiece & even then it’s debatable tbh, but Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker is what made that movie phenomenal, while I will always prefer the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy ovet TDK Trilogy, both proved how popular Superhero movies can be.
