As a Freo supporter , gotta give it to you Kingy you get the last laugh. 9th is better than 14th and we showed a lot of growth, but the boys just never learned how to win the big pressure games or moments.
Pretty spot on, need those experienced players to direct and stand up in big moments. Look at what Pendlebury did for the pies last year’s grand final, not saying he carried the team but he was huge for them in that game.
Be a mutiny at the Dee's if they land Lynch, already got a guy from the Crows last year with a permanent bed at a local hospital, then add his over the top salary.
Harsh on Freo, nobody had them as a serious contender pre-season, most thought that the loss of Schultz made them a little worse off overall compared to last year. They over performed expectations for much of the season before regressing to the mean late.
Kingy has never been wrong about Fremantle's gameplan, but the contrast in how he talks about Carlton and then Freo here is notable. Both sides came into the season with finals expectations (Carlton's arguably higher, going off media predictions), both crueled by key injuries after the byes and Freo with a much more backended fixture. In the end the only difference between their ladder positions is one final minute umpiring blunder, but you wouldn't know it from the wildly different positions he takes on their seasons here. One of the better analysts of the game, but the sensitivity to criticism clearly colours his commentary at times. Pair his ego with the sensitivities and persecution complex of a portion of the Freo fanbase and you get this silly little feud they both love to roll about in

The dogs could easily have finished up top if Bevo did not bench Daniels, Dale and McCrae. He replaced skilled players with rookies that were not ready for AFL. Sanders was a disaster. Since bringing back Dale et al, the dogs are competetive again.
In the Liam Jones tackle, the GWS player had his left arm free to protect himself. But he chose to hold onto the ball. Instead of penalizing Jones, he should have been awarded a free kick. How folks do not see that the GWS player opted not to release the ball and brace himself is incredible.
@njokic2176 Correct. The Tigers had the best player in the game 3 times in their history. Jack Dyer 1931-1949 (2 flags). Royce Hart 1967-1977 (4 flags). Dusty Martin 2010-2024 (3 flags).
Lets be real the mro states "players need to leave an arm free" then suspend players that leave both arms free anyway, genuinely surprised the aflpa hasn't made a stand against the MRO. Surely legally they cant state one thing will get them off and suspend them anyway

Freo fans come at you Kingy because all year you have completely ignored the age demographic of their list profile. Freo has over performed considering how young they are. This is simple stuff, how can you be so simple.
"Age demographic" phooey! Take a reasonably stable list like Melbourne's over the last four seasons. Based on "age demographic" the season they were most likely to succeed was 2024. Didn't make finals. The season they were least likely to succeed (based on "age demographic") was 2021. Won the flag. There is one reason only that Freo has a younger than average list. In recent years, they have traded out more experienced players than they have traded in. Go through the list of ex-Freo players now at other clubs, perhaps starting at Ed Langdon and working forward, and count how many hundreds of games of experience lost. And then ask yourself, is it because Freo is a poorly run club which will always lose good players? Age demographic? Phooey!
