  • So, I bought a 6.0 and am now in the process of doing what every 6.0 owner fears doing, I'm replacing the engine. In this video, we go over the way I remove these engines without removing the cab and we get a peek at the new 6.0 I built for the project.

The stick is more fun ect, but the 5r110 is a pretty strong and reliable tranny.

Use a semi deep socket and wedge something in behind the ratchet but don't be too rough and don't the oil pan

Ive heard others having nightmares with tq converter nuts stripping.I wonder if Ford decided to copy Navistar and used SAE nuts. Navistar either likes throwing curves or is still trying to use up their stockpile of fasteners from WW2 I think 6.0s n 7.3s are mostly SAE

3/8 ratchet and a 14mm half deep socket so not the long or short socket

My 6.0 just started making a lifter noise after 270k and suddenly began to overheat. I’m determined to fix it myself one day 🤔

I wonder if this method would work on a 2010 f250 with a 6.4, might have a project coming within the next few months and hoping there’s a way around taking off the cab

Removing a cab means taking the entire cockpit you sit in off the frame. All he did was remove the front bumper. and radiator support.
