If going to rebuild a 6.7 or 7.3, which are you picking and why. Based off part prices/availability I assume the 7.3, but reliability and durability, which one? Which is "better" or easier to build

I thought to remove the engine u had to remove cab how hard was it to remove the engine with pulling cab

Honestly wasn’t that bad. Just unbolted the core support and front cab bushings then tilted the cab up enough to get some leaf blocks maybe 4” between the frame and core support. Also made for a tone of room to work on the upper intake and the turbo. Honestly felt a little easier then installing a 7.3. (aside from the TC nuts)

Do you think an engine rebuild or at least main bearings would be possible in the truck still? Or how about with one arm because that’s what I’m limited to. I’ve been a diesel mechanic for years though

I think it would be possible but it would be tight. I know you can get the oil pan off in the cab up until I think 2020.

I thought about this a little. I think you could drop the transmission first. That would certainly make things much harder.

Can the lifters be removed in the truck? Just have to pull the heads?

I think you can. I’m pretty sure we took the head off in the cab when we found a dropped valve in my buddy’s truck.
