    OMG! Watching the kid clear those tabletops brings back so much good memories! I’m 51 years old now, and life gets in the way. Young people, enjoy it while you can because age and life will catch up to you. I wish I had a teacher like this guy when I was young; i would have improved so much faster. It’s those encouraging words that makes a ton of difference.

    I have watched these videos over the past two weeks between rides and I'm excited to get on the track and apply these techniques. What a huge help this is to hear you actually talking to the camera attached to the helmet of the student. It feels like you are right there with them. You have a great way of explaining technique so that anyone can understand it. Bravo Aj! Thanks for making these I hope you keep them going.

Decided at 35 I wanna get back into it, so I brought a 2018 KXF250, ain’t been out on it yet on a track waiting for my knee braces. Basically learning to ride all over again, your videos will definitely help me get my confidence back. Retiring from rugby union and getting back into motorcross. If you have the chance, would you please cover soft approaches to soft rutted jump faces? I'm in S. FL, sand tracks and the jump faces often get deep ruts with a soft bumpy sugar sand approach, so as the ruts get deep and the track gets rough the bike starts moving all around on the approach and it becomes very difficult to hit the ruts on the face strait.

    • @AjCatanzaro
      @AjCatanzaro  5 років тому

      Both of those things are actual what you should be doing, so you’re all good. Rolling off the throttle a bit on the coming up to jump is something I do quite a bit because I approach with so much speed. I wouldn’t recommend it for a complete beginner, but as long as you’re not making abrupt changes in throttle you’ll be ok. Low heels while riding on the balls of your feet is exactly how you’re supposed to be!

    Hey aj, i have a confidence/commitment issue when it comes to hitting doubles not so much triples especially when i have a good run for it, and deffinatly not on table tops as weird as it sounds , it causes me to roll alot of jumps especially in harescrable with moto aspects involved, theres not really a track walk or any practice laps on those, its not necessarily the take off that scares me its the landings, cased pretty hard a couple times on doubles before so im a little gun shy and it causes me to second guess the take offs and just messes everything up when it comes to them, whats the best way that i can get out of that, i also have a bad habbit of trying to "bunny hop" the jump what would be a way i could break that because it just kinda looks dumb and i wonder why i do that when i look back on footage😂

    How to land jumps Sir ? ( instructions for legs position on impact is what I'm looking for ) Should my legs be straight, bent a little bit ? Tension them or loose and absorb ... I'm getting confused.
    On a local enduro training the trainer told me I shouldn't try to absorb the jumps with my legs, but let the bike suspension do the work ... ( seems I'm bending the knees and absorb by instinct ( mountainbike jumps habits I guess )) What is your advice ? Initially I was convinced it wasn't terribly wrong to absorb the hits with the help of my legs, and I notice on a lot of how to jump video's this isn't really mentioned. FYI : I was doing small jumps, 1-2meters high, 2nd gear jumps from a small kicker but with a flat landing, so a different type of landing compared to a MX track for sure... maybe the advice is different for MX track other kinds of jumps

    • @AjCatanzaro
      @AjCatanzaro  4 роки тому

      You 100% want to absorb with your body. Your body’s suspension travel is more important than the bikes. So that means you land with your legs very straight and you absorb as you land. You need to have the strength so that you absorb and don’t just collapse to your seat

    • @dawn-moon
      @dawn-moon 4 роки тому

      @@AjCatanzaro thanks for the confirmation Sir, I was starting to doubt my "technique". Also, I was worried when not absorbing with the body, when the bike's travels runs out ... what then... so I'm glad I wasn't wrong at all. ( after all, when you jump and land without a bike, you also use your legs and knees ). Strange advice I got last weekend, got me very confused... greetings from the other side of the ocean !

    Can you do a vid about positioning on the bike for different takeoffs? I keep on leaning back on the bike in the air with extended arms and my butt over the rear fender to keep it level. I know it´s a bad habbit but if i try to stay center I nosedive.

      xsarccx body position shouldn’t change. You should stay centered in the position I teach no matter what

    Typically if applied, do all the techniques become muscle memory? Cause sometimes I catch myself doing slow transitions to sit down leg out turns and other times I’m quick to snap from attack position to sit down.

      Eventually everything will become muscle memories. But that could potentially take years of practicing doing it the correct way

    How did you get over the fear of trying big jumps for the first time?
