  • This is the final video on the install of the Holley Terminator X stealth on my Chevrolet K10 Pickup. I wasn't expecting it to run as good as it did at 1st.
This setup is gonna be a blast to drive and tune.

Congratulations. Really nice instal. I'm sure it looked a bit overwhelming at first. Like you say take your time, double check and go for it and before you know it the loose wires become less. Sounds great, looks just as good. Something anyone would be proud to own. You are a man with a lot of talent and are not afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. Thanks for taking us along with along on your Holley adventure. See you next Saturday.

Great build. I'm thinking the ignition switch is not allowing 12v through to the ignition system while in the cranking position.

Steve, I can't remember what engine block you used but classic SBC has a bolt boss that intersects the bore of the fuel pump push rod, which you deleted. Sometimes that can leak some oil and a short 3/8-16 bolt will work as a 'plug'.

Great result Steve, a thoughtful and intelligent wiring job mate, even if you really don't like wiring lol The initial timing was absolutely spot on, I've never heard a cold engine's throttle response so crisp even from the very first blip of the throttle. You showed us you were checking the timing with the light and I reckon you didn't have to adjust it at all by the sound of it because it was so crisp on start up. So all in all an extremely good kit from Holley I'm truly impressed with it. Once you have those little lean spots sorted and I expect that will sort itself out once the ecu learns the engine, as you said. Enjoy it mate it's the end of a magnificent rebuild of your old square body Chevy and you deserve to enjoy it as you have entertained us with it for the best part of a year and four or five months. Cheers from the UK

There are two ways to knock down RFI, you can put a gentle twist in the wires and avoid sensitive areas. Option two is to get shielded wiring sleeve to pull over the wiring . Another thing I learned wiring race cars with lots of sensors and electronics that need clean power, often off a compact battery, is to add a quality terminal strip or two (one POS, one Gnd) wired too and mounted in an available spot where you can easily connect all your power wires to a known clean 12-16V and a known good ground. They are also available with built in fuse holders.

Ahhh, SATURDAY. If there is something in this world I love to do is everything this channel has to offer. What a great post Steve! Everything you have done on this build has been done right. The end result is the proof of that statement. It sounds great. Does everything you ask of it every time. I saw at original startup it was running a tad rich. I am sure that is intentional from Holley as it is a system that learns through the exhaust sensors it will most likely correct that on its own. Better too rich than that piston and valve eating lean situation. As well you have the ability to tune through your laptop. Great system my friend. Ohh that sound, LOL. Back to machining, WOOHOO, I'll be here, guaranteed ! Thanks a bunch fella !

I would have put the relay next to the fuel pump. Generally, you should keep your high current wires as short as possible this is because the small voltage drop between the ECU and the relay is more desirable than the higher voltage drop you'll get if you locate the relay away from the high current device (fuel pump). You can usually get away with having the relay located away from the fuel pump if you increase the cross-sectional area of the cable.

Those old cars had a resistor wire from the ignition switch (run) and a 12v wire from the starter solenoid to the + coil terminal. Other than having to flip a switch prior to starting, it’s hit the key and go. Congrats on the latest mod. You’re going to enjoy it.

Awesome system, can't go wrong with an electronic fuel management system. I was wondering though, doesn't the Permatex #2 dissolve in gasoline?

Instead of running the additional oil pressure signal wire, would it have been feasible to move the unused MAP signal wire to the pin 20 spot?

Mopars distributor rotations are NOT all CCW.
When you set idle rpm to 770, I thought that was too high. You could probably get away w/650rpm.

I don't know if you tested your gas mileage before you started adding the holley ECM but if you did it would be nice to know how much the gas mileage was effected
