The Ingersoll Rand 114GQC Air Hammer ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS was just the tool I needed. I Use it to remove stuck bolts. If held at the right angle you can cut slightly into the bolt. Then turn the air hammer to where it will hammer the stuck bolt to unspin the bolt. Given a little practice it works great. This air hammer gives you the control needed to get the job done right. Very powerful yet still does not seem to have as much vibration as other guns I have used. One of the best I have gotten my hands on.

Its too bad we live in a world where labor is heavily taxed while resources are not at all.
This should be happening to every old tool, but paying someone to spend a day restoring an item like this costs about as much as buying a new one :(

Good rebuild. Those are good hammers, if you can and have use for it, keep this one. I have several units bought for my team and with the exception of one that snapped the piston's skirt in a freak accident, they've been in hard use for a while now. One of Bosch's better tools in their "newer" line up.

You can use any kind of cleaner like dish soap, laundry powder or degreaser. I use a commercial grade kitchen degreaser because it's powerful, nontoxic, and all commercial grade kitchen cleaners are water soluble so they're easy to dispose afterward.
Insofar as renewing plastics, you can restore the surface finish with a heat gun or sand it back to a fine polish. The overmoilding is a different story, though...
All metal parts can be buffed over with a brass wire wheel connected to any rotary power tool, so a bench grinder, angle grinder, Dremel or drill are all fine, but take care with aluminium parts because those can scratch very easily.

How much oil did you press into he gearbox?
What is the reason for using a semi synthetic motor oil, in my opinium Bosch uses a NLGI 0 class Lithium complex grease.
I could never pu my hands on a Bosch grease specification.

Motor oil is not good for this purpose(vibrations, corrosion). If you have to use oil (new hammers) use oil for pneumatic tools (similar properties). But a local serviceman from Bosch told me to use grease NLGI 1 or 0 instead.
