Hi. Im thnking of buying the vanford 5000 model and Im lure fishing mostly diamonds/hammered jigs 30g - 90g but casting not jigging from a boat for striped bass and blue fish North East USA and I was wondering what rod would you pair this with? Thanks in advance for any advice. Tight Lines!
I picked up a vanford 3000xgf. Took it out of the box , put the crank on. Gave it a spin. And it was LOUD. DAIWA Ballistic arrived a few days later. 2500. The Ballistic was much quieter
Have you noticed a noise when you spin the real handle and let it free spool? I bought one today and had to return it as when I free spoiled at the real had a noise almost like a dry bearing and they brought another one out and it had the same noise that was super annoying for a $250 reel to have. The real felt so amazing but I ended up returning it does yours have the same noise by chance

Like the mini pit reels but this appears to have a cheap line clip. Where is the anti reverse switch?
It is a waterproof reel. The anti reverse switch will let the water inside. In what situation do you use anti reverse?
Use it all the time, don’t often play off the clutch. But would have to with new Shimano’s 👎🏻
Would you recommend the 5000 for long distance and big rivers? (holland) or should i take the ultegra 5500?
Definitely the ultegra 5500xtc...loads more power than any other reel I've ever used mate
