There are a few spots that grant invincibility along the path. The best one is around the last waterfall. It will take some time to get there, but once you do, it's worth it.
I tried doing it normally, fair and square, but I kept running out of time while trying to maintain my combo and attempting to get to the finish line before the deadline. It's kinda cheesing the mini game but you can always go back and do it properly.

Thanks! I was stuck at 2,665 before finding this safe spot. Worked for me on PS4 HD Remaster version. Still, takes practice and some skill, but now do-able.

once you get to level 8 you can just wait to blast volley when the volley dropping fiend runs by, ignoring the other ammo types and enemies. I ended up with 3250 and a minute and a half left. Experiment with spots the enemies will ignore you hugging that wall. You can stand a good few feet past the waterfall and be ignored if your hugging the wall
Exactly what I did. Got a little over 3K with just under 45 seconds left and decided that was good enough.
The ammo just keeps becoming dust when i attempt this and end up hanged when i get near or on the waterfall, not to mention despite racking up gauge lvl 3 the points just don't seem to pop up

Just did this after about an hour or so of grinding it. 1.8% of ppl have this achievement on Steam though so that's crazy.
Ugh. Every single video is on how to do this shit at level 10. I can't even fucking get to level 6!
This is stage is so MFing frustrating. Props to those that beat it. Even with trick it’s tedious AF. I’d rather play Elden Ring blindfolded than this shit.

To anyone needing clarification the best strategy to do this is to keep pushing your high score up as much as you can each run.
This will level you up and give you access to more powerful tools like ammo types and ammo conversion. The most important thing you need is the volley shot ammo type.
This drops from the armored creatures and I believe they have 11 hp. Using the lock on feature you can determine what enemy you will be fighting and if there are more enemies following behind.
My goal was to try and quickly make my way to the spot behind the waterfall where you can safely let enemies run by you while trying to stay as safe as possible however keep in mind that even if you do get hit and your combo Guage is reset that with proper strategy it won't matter much either way.
Ideally you want a volley shot asap and then you want to keep it until another one of the creatures that drops it is on the screen and close enough to pick up the ammo without getting hit. All other enemies and ammo types are pretty unnecessary. You will get huge amounts of points just doing this alone but I still try and thin their numbers out until I find one.
I did this on the switch version if you're curious. Also keep in mind you need to give yourself some time to run to the beach and it pays to have at least 1 death or volley shot for the boss enemy at the end. Ps. If you have trouble getting the ammo make sure you are locked on to the right enemy and switch targets as needed.

How are you getting them to run straight pass your like that?
It’s a blind spot in the game, or a “glitch.” Stay by the side near the waterfall and the fiends won’t attack you.

I don't know if the game was patched to make this more difficult but in first area where you have killed 5 enemies I have only two spawn. There is just not enough fiends to make it to 2800.
Also you have special fiends spawning at level 2 whereas I got to level 3 and it's just the 3 basic fiends (coyote, wold and shantak).
This guy is playing level 9 man, you can tell at the end when he unlocks level 10. If you're playing on the early levels there won't be nearly as many fiends. But keep clearing the levels and get up to 9 and you'll see as many fiends as in the vid :)

i know this is a three year old comment... but im assuming i have to DO THE WHOLE RUN "9 times* to get to level "9" ?
@@aoiph might be, I put FFX-2 on the backburner so I have not touched that mini game in some time. From Split Infinity's guide on gamefaqs you need to score 500 on the first level and more every subsequent level up to 2800 at level 9.
Does "Safe Zone" mean, that Yuna is ignored at that spot or the enemies can't hit her there?
Could it be that this trick doesn't work in de HD-Remaster? Even with this trick I would never suceed. Damn, give me that Adamantite! >.
It definitely works, she cant be hit if you hug the edge at the last portion of the waterfallsection.
