The point of the Crimson Nirnroot quest is to encourage you to explore the entirety of Blackreack. It's basically the developers way of saying "We put lots of work into this place dammit. APPRECIATE OUR ARTISTRY!"
Yes, that is an excellent argument. But there is more to it than just exploration. Just as with No Stone Unturned, the reward for it is also pretty significant and not to forget, permanent. These kind of quests are useless if you're not a completionist and utterly necessary when you are. If you plan to play until the main quests are done and you are level 50 or so, then no, you're not really a completionist and these kind of quests are rather tedious. If you want to complete everything and not ditch the character before you are level 300+, then complete them as soon as possible for max reward.
"Destroy the Dark Brotherhood" could have been so cool, considering that the Penatus Oculatus is literally a counter-intelligence division. They could have had you infiltrating the Thalmor, or investigating people who're rumoured to have performed the black sacrament, and the quests could have different restrictions like "don't kill anyone" or "don't be seen" It might have actually given a reason for the speech skill to exist.
Search for a mod called "Penitus Oculatus" on the Nexus for SSE. It makes them a faction that you can join and then destroy the Dark Brotherhood in a much more immersive way
I love the Dawnguard quest line but I hate how you fight 5 million falmor and no vampire lords at all. There aren't even npcs who turn into lords. I really wish there were also multiple clans you can join. Maybe they could've incorporated it into the questline with all these clans fighting over the power of auriel's bow. Serana will still be a major character though
@Fui Gebhardt1 If you spawn the dwemer robots out in the light in, say, Markarth, they actually look quite cool. They just look stupid and bland in the darkness of the dwemer ruins.
She also wants you to kill an ancient dragon who spent 1000s of years bettering himself and overcoming his dominant nature just because he’s the brother of a bad dragon

When I finished the Bard's College quest line for the first time, I honestly thought there was supposed to be more, and that all of those fetch quests were just a warm up. I spent a half hour tracking down everyone in the building looking for the next quest, I even left for a few levels and came back to check again. So disappointing, complete waste of time
So in Delphines logic; the blades, which failed, miserably may I add, in the past deserve a second chance, but Paarthurnax, who fought against his own nature and betrayed his own kind to help humans does not? that line of logic never sat well with me
Three glaring things: - The most famous dragonborn, Tiber Septim, literally had a pet dragon. - They have sworn to serve and protect the Dragonborn and after rescuing them and rebuilding the order, THEY tell YOU, that if you want to join you have to do what they want - Paarthunax "Through great struggle I've overcome my evil nature to dominate". Delphine: "Sorry, our oaths bind us. We have zero agency and willpower to change for the better."
@@boooster101 Why does Delphine get to decide when she must protect and serve the dragonborn? She is under oath and clearly takes her job seriosly, but still refuses to do her duty if the dragonborn does not do Delphines bidding. She is a manipulative narcissist.
@@ollikoskiniemi6221 that is my point. But if I want to play devils advocate; There are limitations to all oaths and vows. An analogy would be that a soldier mustn't follow illegal orders. And in her mind it would be similar to a general telling you to support the enemy.
@@boooster101 It's kind of sad that the player can become the leader of thieves guild, dark brotherhood, the blades, the companions, the college and some other organisations too, but however you can't make any decisions as the leader and you just basically are one over-glorified errand boy.
@@ollikoskiniemi6221 yes and Bethesda missed out in just adding some voicelines for characters to acknowledge your position. But adding more questlines would have been a lot of work and they already cut corners everywhere. Please also consider that both the game engine and the script engine Papyrus are very limited. So it might be nice if every character would be as immersive as Inigo and every quest as complex as the Shivering Isles DLC. But aside from costs, that would have broken the game beyond repair.

@@Morbacounet I reason that the legionaires and Storm Cloaks were sent on this mission on payday, because they haven't had time to drink away their earnings.
"Destroy the Dark Brotherhood" was really a shame. You first come across it in such a fun way: Kill someone in the room? Hmmm. And than you get excited that the game actually acknowledged your genie logic! Aaand you then kill some assassins and get paid. No extended espionage plotline to figure out who the Dark Brotherhood are or how they work. No set of quests tracking down the location of their sanctuary. Hell, put one of the members with you on some of the quests as a plant. Have them kill an NPC theoretically important to the character in a dramatic assassination setting the seeds for revenge. Have them capture the Dragonborn forcing them to escape. And finally have a climactic showdown with whoever replaced Astrid as leader (and is possibly the new listener) maybe put in the Nightmother as some sort of metaplane section that Bethesda uses for _every_ _other_ _quest_ it seems. I'm writing a youtube comment and coming up with this shit on the fly. So much wasted potential.
I think that they made the penitus oculatus quest so short is because only certain people will check what aventus aretino is doing (thus starting the questline) And also you're not tempted to attack Astrid, so like 75% percent of people that play skyrim wont even try to start the dark brotherhood questline. And then 10% of those 25% will try to attack Astrid. So i think that bethesda didn't want to waste time on a questline that almost no one would play, and decided to spend their time on something better But that's just my opinion. (Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language)
It's because of a simple thing... Paarthunax is awesome and far more helpful. He aids us by teachings us the way of the Thu'um, helps us fight Alduin in our first match and later becomes de new leader of the dragons ensuring that under his rule Dragons could become allies and not enemies. All while Delphine is a b*tch that is constantly bossing you around and being a sarcastic pain the ass the entire game, despite the fact you're their "Leader" She treated you as if you were a servant all while being a selfish brat... She is no different than Astrid from the Dark Brotherhood.

@@megashark1013 good thing there are mods that let you kill essential npc's. i prefer that one mod that lets you rip out their heart and they explode into a bloody mess.
I have to say, the "kill the dragon" radiant quests do often give you a shout or at least a dragon soul, so they are a little better then the other radiant quests.
I installed the mod or found a map online, don't remember anymore, found all the stones, got the crown. Let me tell you - was not worth it! The same as with the crinson nirnroot quest.
I finished it by doing the "double tap" method where you get a chance to grab two (or even more) of the gems at a time, allowing you to complete the quest without actually finding them all. It doesn't "break" the game, per se, but every container has flawless gems in them. Clear one draugr ruin and you have dozens of each kind. I filled up the Thieves Guild chests with all of them. Looked pretty cool.
Doing that quest and the crimson nirnroot quest as early as possible is about the only way they're worth it. No Stone Unturned only makes it where you get alot of gems. Usually, anywhere from 2-6 in every loot container. Back To Your Roots basically just allows duplicate potions... sometimes. Those two things mean nothing when you get any kind of level on you.
Once I've forged my god set, I don't even need to get ores, alchemy ingredients or gems... but I'm not using my gold for anything else... Other than filling my swimming pool.
I'd categorize the spiced wine quest as just a dressed-up version of the "chop wood" and "give a beggar money" quests. It's not terribly interesting but it's a quick way to get someone in the hold to like you so you can become Thane.
@@CryseTech And if you have the transmute spell you can iron into silver and silver into gold. If you want to make a shit ton of rings to place fodder enchantments on to further your enchanting skill that spell is awesome.

My solutions to the quest "Return to Your Roots": 1) Use the console command "player.additem 000B701A 1" thirty times 2) Use the console command "player.additem 000B701A 30," drop all thirty Crimson Roots on the ground, pick them all up.
"I don't know anyone with the willpower to spend hours mining in Skyrim" Well let me introduce myself then, as I do that every single time and I always make sure I've gotten every piece of mineable ore from the mine or location. Even if it's just iron or geode.
Nothing is more satisfying than forging deadric armor where every scrap of material was found and curated by you and you alone. Mining ore, smelting bars, skinning wolves, shoving your hand into demon chests. Glorious it was!
Thoughts on each: - On the flipside, finding the stones with a guide early in the game makes basically every burial urn a veritable gold mine. - Imagine getting a horse like Shadowfax for purifying Shadowmere. Imagine getting a daily paladin summon. Imagine having radiant "rescue" quests. You could become commander of the Penitus Occulatus. HUGE waste of potential. - Most of the Rejoin quests are just "pay a bounty". I guess Bethesda wanted the College's to be different? - I'm honestly shocked we didn't get any usable powers from the Bard's College. It would have been nice to have another faction for a good character. I never know what to do as a heroic Dragonborn, so having the Bard's College as an answer would have been awesome. - I'm genuinely upset the only interaction you get with Vittoria's wedding is killing her during it. Heck, the East Empire Company would ALSO be an interesting faction to join. - I actually like A Return to Your Roots. It made Blackreach feel like more than just another Dwemer location crawling with Falmer, plus you get a cool Power from it. - "I don't know anyone who actually mines in Skyrim" *looks at my mountains of ore* Uhhhhh...... - Speaking of Dawnguard problems, no mention of how much of a slog the Forgotten Vale is? I hate getting to that part of Dawnguard because I have to resolve myself to running around this canyon for the next three hours. - I have literally never met anyone who has done Rebuilding the Blades. Clearly someone has, but everyone I've met who killed Paarthurnax reloaded a save afterwards and just stole the Blades armor. I want to slap Delphine for her arrogance. Who are you to order me around? I am the motherfucking dragonborn. Hero of Sovngarde. What the hell have YOU done to help me recently? Paarthurnax treats me like family and you boss me around like an errand boy. Fuck you. Have fun skulking around in this temple as you fade into nothing, I'm going to go meditate with my bro on speaking fire into existence with my voice.

@Peasant I believe i have made my point very clear that i am NOT talking smack because you don't like Skyrim What i have a hard time understanding is why do you feel the need to bitch in the comments about it, not even as a main comment, but as a response to someone who seeks to upgrade his skyrim experience. Just leave him be there's no reason this argument should've happened in the first place... Yet you had to put your grain of salt in there
Honestly, the Paarthunax quest would be my favorite if they allowed me to choose between Delphine or Parthunaax and then Kill delphine because I hate her.
I love killing the Dark Brotherhood because all the guards acknowledge your reputation in passing: 1. "You're the one all the guards are talking about. You went into that Sanctuary... wiped out the Dark Brotherhood! Friend, I owe you a drink." 2. "You know, I could have gone into that Sanctuary, killed all those Dark Brotherhood types. But I was... sick that day." 3. "You! You're the one who wiped out the Dark Brotherhood! All the guards are talking about it... You're a hero to us all!" And on top of a bad-ass rep, no more random assassins harry you on the road. Neat :D
They get Wabbajacked lol Nice 😎 I should do that to NPCs that are mad disrespectful to the Dragonborn. Example, when they say "Speak!" like if they're giving you permission to speak to them. I cast Frenzy on them so everyone can attack and kill them. Not even Nazeem makes me Frenzy him, because at least he's funny 😂
@@RicoX-17 Next time Todd Howard rereleases Skyrim, let's make "Get Stickbugged, lol" a thing again, but make it "Get Wabbajacked, lol" and it's just a gif of Sheo dancing on a cheese wheel.
Some of those radiant quests (like Evette San's spiced wine request) are there to help you become a Thane in the city. You have to help x-number of people in each Hold (and sometimes have to buy property), so giving Berit's ashes to Runil or taking Banning's spiced dog food up to the Markarth kitchens are there to help you do that. They aren't meant to be "rewarding", per se, but help put you a step along the way.
To be open I actually like the Bards college introduction quest by itself. A Cool dungeon lead by a ghost of the bard, followed by re writing the poem and a festival. It is just what happens after that's the problem.
"yeah i lost my /insert random item/ in a /random cave/dungeon/dwarven ruin/ and i happen to know the exact location of where i lost it and theoretically i could have just retrieved it myself a long time ago but you could do it for me even though you're kinda busy stopping the world-eater or whatever but i'll give you a potion of minor healing???? thanks."
The friggin GOD OF NATURE itself claimed Paarthurnax is awesome!!! She straight up goes against the wishes of one of the NINE!!! WTF BETHESDA! edit: fixed due to popular "demand". XD
Kyne is the wife of Shor/Lorkhan. As Kynarreth shes wind/nature. Kyne told Paarthurnax to defect and teach mortals the thu'um because she bestowed the ability to shout onto mortals. Paarthurnax must have come to the conclusion that the gods had finally had enough of Alduin. Even their father Akatosh had turned his back afterall why would he create the Dragonborn?
"The Paarthurnax Dilemma" should never have been a mod that needed to be made. Because Bethesda masquerades as an RPG developer, that *_CHOICE_* and *_PLAYER AGENCY_* should have been in the vanilla game from Day 1. Yes, I'm still angry and salty af about that bullshit! Whoever it is at Bethesda who wrote that disgraceful quest should be ashamed of themselves.
I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed with the mod. I was thinking the Dragonborn would use logic to convince Delphine, but instead, he shouts at her with the old (draconic?) tongue. It's basically "hey, I'm in charge here, you have to do what I say". It would have been much more interesting to bring it back to the Thalmor. "Hey, actually... the Thalmor are also interested in these dragons and are probably looking for a way to control them. Right now, Alduin is controlling them, and once he's gone, it'll be Paarthunax, who's momentarily on our side. If we kill him, who's to stop the Thalmor from controlling them? I mean, Paarthunax we can beat, but the Thalmor? I don't know..."
Partysnax did more to help against alduin, all delphine did was stole thr freking horn aand "help" us get in the party...and she just sat inside skyhaven while we had to deal with Alduin and the other dragons under him
The player agency is being allowed to choose whether to kill him or not. the consequences of the decision aren’t an infringement on player choice, it’s a necessary component of making choices matter
For the quest destroy the Dark Brotherhood, they could have had you trying to find the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, trying to find the password, catching one of the assassins and interrogating them, stuff like that
Or you can just melt the door with your fire shout, locate any other dark brotherhood bases and destroy them, but just why cant we do that is the better question.
Yeah, it wasn't really a quest, but more of an "opt out" quest for those who were playing good characters and didn't want to kill innocents. I mean, even killing Grelod the Kind(?) makes me a bit uneasy. A helpless old lady is still a helpless old lady. They just needed an alternative storyline to the brutally evil Dark Brotherhood quest.
Get your smithing up to a level where you can make Dwarven bows by using the gold ring method, then spam the bows. Only challenge is finding iron ore, and it sucks if you hate going into Dwemer ruins. But short of using console commands it's fastest that way
*Every Skyrim Players First Experience:* Oh cool theres a bard college faction? Thats awesome lets join. - Oh my first quest is to go into a cave and kill some things? Hm well back to the dark brotherhood sanctuary.
1:22 - I've been ransacking every inch of every house available in any game that allows it for 15+ years- I would certainly think of looking upstairs in a random house
Something I found out recently after 8 years of playing; you can swing your pickaxe like a melee attack to mine ore. You can also use elemental fury or duel wield perks to mine faster
To be fair, collecting the Crimson Nirnroot in a single specific place isn’t that bad. It’s a unique scavenger hunt, and only a few are really “hidden”. It’s a callback to how difficult it was to complete the Nirnroot quest in Oblivion. It even feature the (dead) same character that you collect nirnroot for. And the reward is definitely worth it, saving you lots of time gathering other ingredients. It’s an investment in Alchemy.
@@Arterexius I don't get why people hate that quest so much. The dungeon crawl itself is pretty average, but the corpses scattered around tend to have quite a lot of gold on them, and the reward for completing it is one of my favourite swords in the game. I'm genuinely curious as to why you think it's the worst quest in the entire game.
@@stevedowdy1 It's the way it's just forced on to you and the way Meridia speaks to you. Snobbish and high pitch, while forcing you to complete a quest if you want to get the f'ing beacon out of your life. I know there's a lot of gold on the corpses, but there's way more in the Deathbrand tomb and that one is 100% free will. No enforcement of a loud, high pitch voice commanding you to do anything. Just a subtle quest about finding all the pieces of some pretty OP armor and ending up getting some pretty OP swords too. Dawnbreaker was originally also one of my favorite swords. Until I found out about the Chaos enchantment and the Lunar. Combine those two on any higher end sword (or a silver sword) and you got yourself one hell of a weapon that easily blows Dawnbreaker out of the water. Dawnbreaker just looks cool. But it doesn't have the stats to be so too.
"Have you seen anyone enter or exist this house?" "No" "Thank you for your time" Literally just 10 secs later: "Have you seen anyone enter or exist this house?"
For a college of winter hold quest you only learn 3 mandatory spells. The first random one you get to enter the college assuming your speech wasn't high, the lesser ward from the lesson, and frostbite to use on the dwemer machine. How did they ever make you the arch mage master of 3 spells
Oh God the Mage Guild Quests.... Intrigue, Spell Creation, Lore, Competitive Environment, School Houses for Different ARTS!! We got None of that. Just the Typical Dungeon Crawlers. Personally I found Morrowind Nailed this. For WHEN-EVER I make a Mage character in that game, I will always join House Telvanni. Mage guild and Telvanni work So well together.
The Sheogorath quest, despite all the greatness of Sheo himself. You're finally in an environment that doesn't feel copy-pasted and has weather that's actually unique...but you can't explore because the game is constantly rushing you to finish it, and you can't return or stay to explore once you do. for that I have to dock significant points, but at least we get to see two Elder Scrolls protagonists interact.
I'm sure someone already commented on this, but you don't have to go through the long mining cutscene. All you have to do is equip your pick and just beat the ore out
The only quest involving Kolskegger is killing a bunch of Foresworn who have taken it over, after which you can help yourself to a whole bunch of gold ore, from which you can make gobs of valuable jewelry with all the gems you have from Prowler's Profit. Similarly, at the Sinkhole mine, the quest is killing draugur, not mining; but you can do that anyway. Mining can be a way of making some money if you don't have any, but there is no obligation to do it.
Avarti : Those unsual gems are hidden in really inconspicuous places, such as the first floor of the Shatter-Shield clan's house. Who thinks of looking upstairs in a random house? Me having found that very unusual gem in the Shatter-Shields' place an hour ago : Yeah, no one sane.
Honestly the bards college could have helped make romancing characters more in depth. You go to the college and learn to sing and play an instrument, thus giving you the chance for serenade women, or sing for men, that you already have a good relationship with. Then hit them with the amulet of mara and marriage. Feels a little more natural that way.
I think the no stone unturned quest is actually sorta good: 1. Incentivizes exploration, even if hella tedious 2. That feeling you get when you find a new stone each time you're doing a completely different quest just makes me a bit happier 3. I think it's meant to be an endgame quest, because the stones are placed in spots which are related to quests, so if you do all quests, you find the stones respectively, hence leaving no stone unturned. The reward for completing it could've been better though, at least make me wear it lol.
Speaking of being banned from the college you will love this: I’ve been banned multiple times for jumping up and down in fire. Yes, I got banned for assaulting myself in freaking Solitude!
It’s made pretty clear by both Valerica and Serana that once Harkon has the bow, and the prophecy is fulfilled he’ll no longer have a need for you. He wouldn’t leave such a powerful vampire alive as a rival. Siding with Harkon was never an option and everyone that knew him personally told you so.
If I remember correctly, you don't even get money for finding them all. You get a cosmetic crown they mount in the Thieve's Guild by the Guild Master's desk.
The crimson nirnroot one is a tribute to a similar quest in Oblivion, "Seeking your roots". Except you get the quest after harvesting your first nirnroot. You have to find once specific alchemist who then asks you to bring him nirnroots several times, 100 nirnroots total. Each time you get a better version of a potion he's working on. And regular nirnroots in Oblivion aren't that hard to get - while doing some Mages- and Fighters Guild quests I bumpt into them all the time
I didn't mind the crimson nirnroot one because it gave me an excuse to explore all of blackreach. Also you can see the glow from the nirnroot spawn in before most assets so it's easy to scout them out. Edit: You can dual wield pickaxes and use the shout to attack faster to mine ore veins extremely fast. Takes only a few minutes to mine out most mines.
I mean, I like that the destroy the dark brotherhood exists, I mean, you have no such options for the Daedra worshipping companions or Maven Blackberry and the Riften mafia...

I am mining ore in Halted Stream Camp while I watch this video criticizing mining. 🤣 And yes, it’s a dull activity in Skyrim. That’s why I’m watching the video!
Unfortunately some of those radiant and mining quests help you become Thane. There's also a great mod that shows the map markers for all of the Stones of Barenziah, but that probably won't help if you're aiming for a trophy. I've never killed Paarthunax and I also love Blackreach, I just hate how to get there!
I think the purpose of most of these quests is to make you visit locations you would otherwise never visit. And if there happens to be a Gem of Barenziah at said location... Not everything can lead to an epic boss fight!
I don't think there was ever a point that I even remotely liked Delphine. She was bossy, arrogant, narcissistic, and hateful to the core. I liked Esbern a bit more, but only just a bit; since he also wanted Paarthurnax to be killed. Of course; this was always bigger than just Paarthurnax. The Blades would have wanted to kill every last dragon and put them all back into the ground. Nevermind the fact that the Blades already did that once, and all the good that did; Alduin was able to resurrect them easily and rally them to his side. Since it is very much likely that Alduin will eventually return sometime in the distant future, there is no sense in just killing all the dragons again; since it was pointless the first time. Instead; the better way would be to have Paarthurnax teach the other dragons the Way of the Voice. That way; should Alduin return; the other dragons wouldn't be so likely to join Alduin in conquest of Tamriel. In fact; it could even lead to the dragons fighting back against Alduin and secure the future of Nirn for more generations to come after that. Also; this could lead to a more peaceful existence between the dragons and the mortal races. And then; perhaps there would never again be a need for a Dragonborn.
I have found that most of the "Stones of Barenziah" are suprisingly close to major cities. There are 3 stones in a single city (In Whiterun and Windhelm) but that doesn't excuse the tediousness of the quest.
actually i feel mining ore is a fun break from action every once and awhile for example i will totally be the one to mine ALL the iron ore from a cave and with the spell transmute you can get rich as f doing it its also a good way to powerlevel enchanting you mined 58 iron? cool you get 116 gold rings that you may then enchant and also there are mines that have orichelcum in orc strongholds or gold in that one mine with a quest in marakarth

Avarti: *Makes a video called "Why you should NOT join the Dark Brotherhood."* Also Avarti: "It's much better if you just join the Dark Brotherhood than try to destroy it." Honestly though, you're right. The Dark Brotherhood Quest line should be longer, and by the end of it, maybe you should be able to take Shadowmere from them after they're dead.
Actually, if you help out the spiced wine lady, you can take all of her displayed wine for free. Of course she restocks later on and you can do it again. It's like helping Carliah. FREE FOOD!

I actually don't mind mining for ore that much, don't get me wrong I don't do it for hours on end but I will take them as they come through my adventures and exploring.
As someone who uses a map marker mod for no stone unturned, I think it made it way too easy to find them for the reward you get which is infinite cash without exploiting. I think the quest would've been actually kinda fun if vex gave you a notebook on all leads she had to their locations
Hey, I mine ore! :p Also, I think the reward for A Return to Your Roots is pretty good… it’s just that no reward could reasonably be good enough to be worth doing that quest.

So in Delphines logic; the blades, which failed, miserably may I add, in the past deserve a second chance, but Paarthurnax, who fought against his own nature and betrayed his own kind to help humans does not? that line of logic never sat well with me
Three glaring things:
- The most famous dragonborn, Tiber Septim, literally had a pet dragon.
- They have sworn to serve and protect the Dragonborn and after rescuing them and rebuilding the order, THEY tell YOU, that if you want to join you have to do what they want
- Paarthunax "Through great struggle I've overcome my evil nature to dominate". Delphine: "Sorry, our oaths bind us. We have zero agency and willpower to change for the better."

Slysheen can you mod this? I’d pay for it😂😂😍
I think that they made the penitus oculatus quest so short is because only certain people will check what aventus aretino is doing (thus starting the questline)
And also you're not tempted to attack Astrid, so like 75% percent of people that play skyrim wont even try to start the dark brotherhood questline.
And then 10% of those 25% will try to attack Astrid.
So i think that bethesda didn't want to waste time on a questline that almost no one would play, and decided to spend their time on something better

In all my time playing Skyrim, I've never finished No Stone Unturned
@A Metalhead From Finland I'm going to have to download that then, I'll actually finish it then!
Don't finish it, I used the mod to finish it and I was soooooo pissed. All that happens is you're slightly more likely to find gems

True.
Nothing is more satisfying than forging deadric armor where every scrap of material was found and curated by you and you alone. Mining ore, smelting bars, skinning wolves, shoving your hand into demon chests.
Glorious it was!
Thoughts on each:
- On the flipside, finding the stones with a guide early in the game makes basically every burial urn a veritable gold mine.

2. "You know, I could have gone into that Sanctuary, killed all those Dark Brotherhood types. But I was... sick that day."
3. "You! You're the one who wiped out the Dark Brotherhood! All the guards are talking about it... You're a hero to us all!"
And on top of a bad-ass rep, no more random assassins harry you on the road. Neat :D
I hate that "i was sick on that day" dialouge, everyone who says this gets hit from my wabbajack
They get Wabbajacked lol Nice 😎
I should do that to NPCs that are mad disrespectful to the Dragonborn. Example, when they say "Speak!" like if they're giving you permission to speak to them. I cast Frenzy on them so everyone can attack and kill them. Not even Nazeem makes me Frenzy him, because at least he's funny 😂
I dunno, none of that gives me more joy than passing a guard and having them whisper, "Psst...hey. I know who you are. Hail Sithis!"

Mining iorn, silver and gold ore then transmuting the first two and making gold rings is great though tedious way to level smithing quick
Yes but selling ore us lame.
Get your smithing up to a level where you can make Dwarven bows by using the gold ring method, then spam the bows. Only challenge is finding iron ore, and it sucks if you hate going into Dwemer ruins. But short of using console commands it's fastest that way
It is tedious but...... it is alway tedious to level up smithing
Transmuting also helps level up Alteration

Me who's been playing JRPGs since '98: I mean...
2:53 - *[demonetization noises]*
I think the no stone unturned quest is actually sorta good:
1. Incentivizes exploration, even if hella tedious
2. That feeling you get when you find a new stone each time you're doing a completely different quest just makes me a bit happier
You know what would be cool? An alternate quest line where you investigate murders and trace them back to the Dark Brotherhood.
How about adding a few clues to where those gems could be and halve the amount you're supposed to get?
wu1ming9shi or markers in the general area
@@alyjahandujar1402 Yeah, but that's not immersive.
@@wu1ming9shi Neither are all the other quest markers in Skyrim.
I'd say purge them from the game files.
Yeah! I mean open world collection quests are among worst quest ever if not including some information or clue about thing you are looking for.
The mod to force the Blades to obey you is great. "I'm the Dragonborn. You serve me. Paarthunax will be spared."
Mining is much less tedious when you know you can just use Elemental Fury on a Pixaxe and attack the heck out of an ore vein.
I don’t even see those stupid stones anymore. By the time you collect all of them, your already so rich it doesn’t matter anymore.
And regular nirnroots in Oblivion aren't that hard to get - while doing some Mages- and Fighters Guild quests I bumpt into them all the time
Dragonborn: Very well *gives auriel´s bow*
Harkon: THE BOW WILL BE MINE!!
LMAOOO
“Don’t know why anyone would want to mine all of that ore for hours on end.”
You clearly haven't heard of Minecraft.
The "quest" to become the Thieves Guild's leader is stupid and tedious.
That requires you to undertake the most tedious of radiant quests in the game. It takes far too long and it's completely random.
I was rather lucky on my first tries so it didn't took that long
You can also refuse a quest given to you by them
And tbh the city takeover quests are all pretty cool and fun
So no i disagree
Well is it better to prove yourself as a thief before becoming guildmaster or just to be a bard from clearing a dungeon?
@@nobody6257 agreed XD
@@Yomasi yes the city take ovef quests are fun. Getting to it though is another thing.
I also tried the refuse method but that speech they give out becomes grating after a while.
Destroying the brotherhood teaches you that doing the right thing isn't usually worth as much. You're not in it for the reward.
+ Impatience of a Saint: Creepy atmosphere. No quest markers. Random CTDs if not completed. Tedious AF.
+ Return the Falmer books to Urag: Getting the ancient tomes are cool but Urag makes the Dragonborn look stupid and it conflicts lorewise with the Thieves Guild questline.
+ Get plants for Ingun: Tell your mama to hire some lowlifes to pluck some Nirnroots for you. I'm too busy slaying bandits.
+ Bring bear pelts to Temba: Pelts take too much space in inventory plus bears are scary at low levels. Nope.
At least the reward for Ingun's quest is good. The others are pure trash.
@@Morbacounet For a bunch of potions in her stash? Thanks but I pass.
@@l0remipsum991 400 gold for each type brought back, plus the key to her storage chest.

I am mining ore in Halted Stream Camp while I watch this video criticizing mining. 🤣
And yes, it’s a dull activity in Skyrim. That’s why I’m watching the video!
If I didn't love the theives guild as much as I do, I would not go out of my way to collect those stones.
I really hate when you become vampire lord and the vampires still attack you
I think the purpose of most of these quests is to make you visit locations you would otherwise never visit. And if there happens to be a Gem of Barenziah at said location... Not everything can lead to an epic boss fight!
It doesnt help that you can collect lutes, flutes, and drums and see other NPC's using them, but you can't
Stupidest side quests? Aw yeah~ just what we wanted! ;)
The reward for completing “no stone unturned “ is out-of-control.
actually i feel mining ore is a fun break from action every once and awhile for example i will totally be the one to mine ALL the iron ore from a cave and with the spell transmute you can get rich as f
doing it its also a good way to powerlevel enchanting you mined 58 iron? cool you get 116 gold rings that you may then enchant
and also there are mines that have orichelcum in orc strongholds or gold in that one mine with a quest in marakarth
The No Stone Unturned quest is actually pretty useful to finish if you want to get crazy rich off of the gemstones you will find everywhere

Honestly though, you're right.
FREE FOOD!
Welp, there goes your monetization
Bandits stole my Flute. Necromancer stole my lute. it would be great if we heard about a Bard who died defending their musical instrument. . . (I probably could have made that rhyme if the Bard College tought music stuff )
