Michael put this video out yesterday and I’ve since downloaded your album on Apple Music and listen to this 68 song probably six times. Incredible songwriting and passion, keep doing what you do man! This world needs it.
Nolan has been my best friend since we were 13. Eons of talent. And the best lyricist out! I’m ecstatic that he’s expanding faster then a sponge in water! Great review. His music tears my heart out!
I remember moving into town for the first time and finding out this asshat boy from school, the same turd in my damn class every year, lived behind me. And my dad (having only daughters) started collecting neighborhood boys with flat bike tires and loose board trucks. Remember Curtis? Getting off that stupid bus on Bourbon and flipping it off. All of you asshats. I remember my dad hearing Nolan sing when he was coming around the back and through our yard looking for Chuck and he said to me 'he sings? Huh. He should. It suits him'
"she was falling asleep driving down 68, I drove just to get us back safe" hits hard, Ive driven my dad home from the bar many times when I was just a kid, this is an amazing AMAZING song
"I fuckin FEEL it" says perfectly how we all feel about this song. Also weirdly hilarious to hear you swear. You're always so clean to see you lose it is great lol.
Nothing more powerful and artistic musically than a someone solo on a guitar and baring his soul. Having a hook or chorus or guitar solo would’ve totally changed the trajectory of the song but he stuck to the main chords and the story he’s telling instead. Can’t get much more real than that
Whomever is getting these songs to you is doing a great job. I can't think of any other youtuber (or other source) that consistently puts me on good music. I don't get your guitar talk gibberish but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. I can only speak on the ignorant side of guitar theory but I know when something hits my ears right. Regardless where one is on the music spectrum, you make discovering the layers of what makes something good interesting without talking down or up to your audience. Very accessible at many levels.
Dude!!! You put words to what I've been feeling about this channel!!! I've been trying to do that since I first found this channel from his Colter Wall "The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie" Reaction!!! Thank you SO much!!!
Because I have a mother and had a father who never dealt with this type of addiction, I can’t really relate to what he’s singing about. However, because of how well this song was written and how powerful the performance of the song was, I am sling shotted into this as if it happened to me. I’m 41 years old and I’m sobbing in my kitchen. My god, man. I love music so much.
"6-5-4 is your basic progression - whatever" lol my man you summed it up perfectly - goosebumps for basically the whole video, thanks for the introduction!
Ok new Nolan fans,... now look up and listen to 500 and Born to Love. Born to Love made me cry over and over. The passion in his music is incredible 🥹💕
Hosted Nolan at a house show back in August and have had the pleasure of getting to know him a bit. I was hoping this one would cross your path. He’s incredible, man. This one is incredibly personal and about his mother’s struggle with addiction.
Yes, story of mothers addiction from child’s perspective is heartbreaking. Music that hurts you and heals you at the same time….that’s where it’s at! We hope Nolan becomes a S4L Ambassador for “The NarCAN Tour” at Songs For L;fe LLC. We’d love to have the two of you on a future podcast in Myrtle Beach. I’ll be in touch soon!
I met and heard Nolan a few years ago in Manchester Ohio at Bottoms Up bar and instantly loved his voice and music he's one of my favorite artists will always be a big fan
I've been listening to Nolan for a few years now, and I called it years ago that he's being slept on, that he's easily top 5 best artist out and no one even knows it. I'm so glad he's finally getting the recognition he deserves. He's truly an amazing artist and songwriter that deserves to be noticed. He's the Real Deal Holyfield. Oh, and this is a true story about his mother.
The best music always comes from something the writer has seen, done, or been involved in. Put 10 people on the same song & that 1 song now has 10 different interpretations and to evoke an emotion regardless of what that emotion is the very reason we write. I cant explain the difference exactly but, when the song becomes a story that cannot be re arranged for its meaning by those 10 people, when the authors body cries before his/her eyes do, thats power. This is one of those. I've never seen this guy but I will be seeing more of him. Thanks
First saw Nolan when he supported CWG in Columbus, Oh. This man had an entire crowd wrapped around his finger in full attention. To say I was moved by emotion is an understatement. His music is really something special. Glad to see him on this channel finally!
I haven't had a song physically shake my soul like this song just did in such a long time. My lord this guy has talent - the lyrics, the belting, the guitar... the total package right here.
Soooooo glad you did this man!! I LOVE Nolan. I live in WV where "68" is. And this song hits hard for SOO MANY of us who grew up poor and surrounded by addiction in WV.
I have been listening to this track and crying every time. I cant even relate to a parrent I want to run from, but I feel the truth and pain in this song and it hits me straight in my core. This is what music is all about. Thanks Michael for finding and sharing this!
I agree with everyone here about how this channel is a gem for exposure to great music along good natured reactions. This song and artist were brand new to me today and I'm supremely grateful for the discovery. Will quickly say though that you missed the meaning here. He's cutting his Mom out, not his Dad.
Music is such a special human thing. I’ve never watched a video from this channel, never heard of Nolan Taylor, but I’m sitting here on my couch with tears in my eyes. Beautiful.
Thanks my friend. I’m going through this right now at 55. Thought it would be different. This song made me laugh because I’ve never heard something that someone else wrote that was so perfect. Hopefully soon I’ll have the courage. Love you brother. Thanks for doing what you do.
Best review ever! I couldnt describe my first reaction when I heard him better. Everything I've heard from him is just too real... He has stories that demand to be heard. Hopefully you gave it another listen. I'd love to hear what you think after absorbing the lyrics.
I just came across this guy and this song about 2 weeks ago and I absolutely love this dude's style! He is now a part of my permanent playlist. I also recently found you and your song reactions and I thank you for the music you have introduced me to. Thank you!
I am fortunate enough to actually know Nolan, and just saw him perform live recently opening for Charles Wesley Godwin and Cole Chaney, and let me tell you - he is the REAL deal. I was able to talk to him after the show and he is extremely humble, and extremely talented. I am beyond excited to just continue to watch this man pursue his dreams and succeed. He is about to BLOW UP.
Nolan Taylor is an amazing musician. Powerful songs. He's got a bunch more on his YT. Super good guy. Met him in 2018 at a music festival of sorts. So happy for him that his talent is on the big ole rise
two things for me - one is Nolan Taylor. err.... YEA! and the other is you Palmisano. It is so rare that commentary on or about music gets to the heart of life itself and you, sir, did just that on this video. Chapeau. PS fwiw I'm not a guitar player or any kind of musician and I wouldnt know a chord progression if it slapped me upside the head but I love your videos and I love the sincerity with which you speak.
Michael, I watched this video tonight and I started crying after listening to talk after the song.. I often wonder about things like why we are here and what this life is and it also scares me to think that I guess it was one of those times where the cosmos lined up perfectly and put this video in front of me so I could watch it because every word you spoke and also the song lyric content so perfectly to a tee matched where I'm at and what's going on in my life. If you only knew all of the details of everything it would scare you too. I'm a big fan of your videos and I used to live in Baltimore too. Thank you for speaking the thoughts in your mind in this video because it broadened my perspective on this thing called life.
OMG I did not expect this, such a great pick!!! Saw Nolan perform at Southgate House Revival and I felt this when I first heard it, I still do each time I hear it. Very deserving of the nod ❤️
There is something special and amazing taking place in the Appalachians right now as I almost feel like we are witnessing a rebirth of REAL country music. This is the REALEST music being produced today. It's dark and sad, and it's written about their struggles and their pain. I call it COAL COUNTRY, but it really feels like it transcends stereotypes. People from all walks and backgrounds are discovering it and relating to it. It's just so damned REAL.
this Canadian girl completely agrees. a friend introduced me to the region a few years ago and i've been deep diving into the music ever since, including Nolan
I had to sign in just to reply to your comment because I totally agree. Seems like ever since Tyler Childers made it big, these other artists are getting the recognition they deserve. My brother Joe Clark is another artist who’s authentic like this and just writes and sings from his heart and life.
Dude you seem like such a real and kind person - we need more people like you on this planet, and I just want to tell ya, your vibes don’t go unnoticed ✨
I’m glad to see you reacting to more of this kind of country/Appalachian music. Some of the most powerful lyrics come from these artists, especially Nolan Taylor. I know you love colter wall so I want to show you someone who reminds me a lot of him. Jake Kohn is a new artist with a couple songs on the radiowv channel. He’s like colter wall if he was from Appalachia and I’ve been hearing he’s only 15. If that’s the case he’s probably the most mature, and creative 15 year old lyricists out there. Love the videos and keep it up!
Great writer. Now THAT is what he does have that he shares with some of the best. It was even better by the end. Love finding new artists on Michael's channel. Thank you.
The F-chord around 5:34 is the most emotional F-chord I have ever seen! Goosebumps! Greetings to Michael and all the viewers and lovers of music in it's best way!
I love that I found Nolan's music. hes a brilliant songwriter. I lover writers who put their emotions in the music and tell real stories in musical form. I cant imagine how cathartic, but also genuinely painful, it is to get this out. I cry nearly every time i hear this song. I attribute that to the story itself but also the performance. Love it! Cant wait to see his success in the coming months
We’ve seen Nolan live a few times now and every song he plays is better than the last and the emotion he puts in to playing 68 brings tears to my eyes every time! If you get a chance to see him live, do it!
Thanks to this channel…I’ve been put onto yet ANOTHER incredible artist. I absolutely love your content mate! This track is gut wrenchingly beautiful and I can’t wait to listen to more of Nolan!
Damn!!!!! No words for this. Absolutely genuine and fantastic!!! I see in the comments he has played in Ohio a couple times, next time he comes to Columbus or bear here, I’m going to check this dude out!!
The thing with a great storyteller is the music is just an extension to the story.... It may not be in key or in tune it's meant to make you feel a certain type of way...... Storytellers want the story to shine and the story is definitely on the forefront here and his pain and passion filled vocal delivery makes you feel every word of it in the gut while the lyrics rip at your soul...... What a great piece thank you for doing this one Michael appreciate all you do
I discovered this song yesterday and I cannot get enough of it. I felt the same when he said "Im done now, im through with you!" The literal fist pump. You looked like you were about to pause before he got to it and I said to my computer screen "Not Yet"!!!! Your face shows you feel this song. Such an incredible tune
Wow. That song really spoke to me, but more so, your commentary really put it into perspective for me and really touched me. I have been in a "comfortable space" for a very long time and I have become used to not being happy but just accepting with the way things are. Letting got of a very unhealthy relationship and acting on the knowledge that it will never make me or her happy, chosing me, is something that I could never muster the courage to do and it feels like I never will at this moment. Listening to this song and yourself hinting at the fact that you managed to do that and that it was worth it inspires me. Thank you and Mr. Taylor for that.
Dude is LEGIT... One of my good friends of years is similarly talented. I don't understand for the life of me why such talent goes unknown. Life is weird AF. His name is Adam Faucett and has a song on here called "Living On The Moon" on Audiotree. I don't want to come off like a salesman... He's just really good and getting old. Love you.
Nolan Taylor is a hell of a singer and his guitar ain’t bad either. He belts out tunes that makes me feel my feelings. Haven’t met him in person but interacted with him online and he’s a real gentleman.
This is why I LOVE reaction channels! I don't know if I would have ever heard of this Guy if it hadn't been for your reaction, but you better believe he has a new fan and I can't wait to go listen to more from him!!! Thank You so much Michael for this reaction and introducing me to Nolan Taylor!!!
I watched this video a month ago and have listened to Nolan a bunch since. Now I see he’ll be an hour from me the day before my birthday in July. Very excited. Thank you Michael.
Michael, thank you for shining the spotlight on yet another great singer songwriter. I can’t wait to listen to everything that Nolan has to offer. And thank you, Ryan Davis, for sharing this gem with Michael and the rest of us.
You speak with such honesty Michael.....i hope Nolan sees this video, as him writing about this subject is his honesty and no doubt resonates with so many people and hopefully will make them do the right thing, as you have said you done Michael..Will definately check more of Nolans music out....Keep this brilliant content coming too M...best wishes to you from Wales/uk.
I saw this days ago on Tiktok and just today I watched him again and thought about you needing to see him. I'm so glad you have already and I really appreciate both you AND Nolan Taylor for ever showing up in my life, Michael. Truly
Michael I really appreciate you taking the time to check out Nolan Taylor! I’m so fortunate to be able to have seen him live multiple times! Hope to see him a bunch more, and I can’t wait until he releases his album in April!
I looked up Michael this morning to send him this song. Looks like some one beat me to the punch. Happy for you Nolan. Been listening to you for awhile now. You deserve every bit of the attentional you are getting. Can't wait to hear more.
Thanks for referencing SRV vibes of his body and soul are one with the guitar. The epitome of a genuine artist is in the open channel of pain or feeling that is expressed from their hands and voice as they are performing. RIP SRV🎸
Man this song hits so close to home for me. As someone with a manic, pain pill abusing, mentally manipulative mother, I'm still trying to separate myself from as a 32 yr old man. Took me until I was 30 to stop lying to myself that she's just going through a phase and some day she'll get out of that bed but she won't.
Glad you finally did this one, been trying to get you to check it out for a while. Nolan is such a humble dude, really think he’s going to blow up this year
Didn't realize this one would hit so close to home. I recall driving my mom in a blackout down the old river road at the age of five a miracle to be sure
as someone that can relate to this song, man this song had me tore up and emotional. shout out to Nolan Taylor for conveying that emotion through sound.
There's so much great information on this channel, but I keep coming back just to learn about so many of these great artists! Thanks for highlighting so many of these great folks, Michael!
I just want to say thank you so much Michael, this is a dream come true.
Thank you all for the kind words I appreciate you all so much.
what a incredible song and perfomance Nolan, and i can relate waytoo much to the lyrics. much love from Norway
Stunning song, Nolan. As in, it stunned me! May your future bring you more peace than your past and may your music always carry this power.
Michael put this video out yesterday and I’ve since downloaded your album on Apple Music and listen to this 68 song probably six times. Incredible songwriting and passion, keep doing what you do man! This world needs it.
@@NickJardine LOVE THIS!
It's our pleasure! Keep going! We're behind you brother.
Nolan has been my best friend since we were 13. Eons of talent. And the best lyricist out! I’m ecstatic that he’s expanding faster then a sponge in water! Great review. His music tears my heart out!
He’s fantastic and I’m sure you’ve been there for him in more ways than can be shared. Excited for him and his music 🙏✌🏼
Yeah man he's hitting a spot. My mom was an alcoholic and I feel all this too much.
I remember moving into town for the first time and finding out this asshat boy from school, the same turd in my damn class every year, lived behind me. And my dad (having only daughters) started collecting neighborhood boys with flat bike tires and loose board trucks.

@@steviestanforth4776 OMG how could I forget. Man , I miss those days. Carr, center, and fancy st. The good side of the train tracks!
@Curtis Newman my dad was in heaven. Someone always needed something fixed or would use the basketball hoop
"she was falling asleep driving down 68, I drove just to get us back safe" hits hard, Ive driven my dad home from the bar many times when I was just a kid, this is an amazing AMAZING song
Let's appreciate radiowv for bringing us such great artists. This man and many more they promote are awesome.
Thank you radiowv
Mate , thank you for introducing me to this guy. I love this dude....
"I fuckin FEEL it" says perfectly how we all feel about this song.
Also weirdly hilarious to hear you swear. You're always so clean to see you lose it is great lol.

Couldn’t agree more.

Thanks Andrew! That’s a huge compliment!

Just 3 chords and the truth.... Heartbreaking song ..hits close to home
I was driving listening and had to pull over to give it my full attention. Just incredible
Right?!

I love palmisano every single video you connect with the person behind the guitar and you can find the beauty in most songs.

Hosted Nolan at a house show back in August and have had the pleasure of getting to know him a bit. I was hoping this one would cross your path. He’s incredible, man.

No glitz or glamor here. Just awesome True music !!!
Thank you!
Proof that music is therapy. The way he went from explaining the "why", to anger and finally settling with the heartbreak was amazing!

I thought to myself "a closer look won't hurt"
Heard this song a month or two ago. Current favorite. As a native West Virginian, I can feel the whole song.
2 Words: Cold Chills. I mean, real ones. Nolan Taylor is on my list now too!

I so admire your deep passion for music!! This guy takes reality to the next level 👍
Thank you!
Thank you for your wise words Michael - didn't think I'd come out of this video with a life lesson ... but I did, and I needed it. Thanks mate ;).
@terseersugh what
This is why I LOVE reaction channels! I don't know if I would have ever heard of this Guy if it hadn't been for your reaction, but you better believe he has a new fan and I can't wait to go listen to more from him!!! Thank You so much Michael for this reaction and introducing me to Nolan Taylor!!!
I’m so glad you found this and I reacted just like you did when I heard this song. Blew me away. So real, like you said.
I watched this video a month ago and have listened to Nolan a bunch since. Now I see he’ll be an hour from me the day before my birthday in July. Very excited. Thank you Michael.
Love it!!
He is amazing. Authentic and down to earth
Thank you!
This one brought me to tears. I cant thank you enough for these videos you make. They mean more than you know to some of us!
I saw this days ago on Tiktok and just today I watched him again and thought about you needing to see him. I'm so glad you have already and I really appreciate both you AND Nolan Taylor for ever showing up in my life, Michael. Truly
Love this song..
It’s my story too….
Never heard of this guy.. big fan now..
This one with the Townes video….🤘
Right?! Thank LM
Such great tuneful shouting at the end! All in. Love it. Storytelling style and vocal tone reminded me of Damien Jurado but like you say, visceral.
I feel down the Nolan rabbit hole last night! Just wish he had a lot more music on streaming platforms.
Michael I really appreciate you taking the time to check out Nolan Taylor! I’m so fortunate to be able to have seen him live multiple times! Hope to see him a bunch more, and I can’t wait until he releases his album in April!
Good call Ryan!
I looked up Michael this morning to send him this song. Looks like some one beat me to the punch. Happy for you Nolan. Been listening to you for awhile now. You deserve every bit of the attentional you are getting. Can't wait to hear more.
God damn! I haven't had a song hit me that hard in ages. Thank you so much Nolan and Michael.
The range. Damn! Thanks for the find @MichaelPalmisano , now im going to go listen to more of his stuff.
You have introduced me to the most amazing artist! Thank you for what you do sir!!!
Glad you finally did this one, been trying to get you to check it out for a while. Nolan is such a humble dude, really think he’s going to blow up this year
Michael,
Thank you for sharing about your life, finding the one good thing lifting you up. Extremely inspiring, thank you🙂
Didn't realize this one would hit so close to home. I recall driving my mom in a blackout down the old river road at the age of five a miracle to be sure
This is another reason that I subscribe to your, and a few other channels. Killer new artist intros. Mille grazie paisano! Love this guy.
Thank you!
as someone that can relate to this song, man this song had me tore up and emotional. shout out to Nolan Taylor for conveying that emotion through sound.
Wow! Just followed him on Spotify. Pure raw emotion. This gave me goosebumps.
This was the best one so far! I've been watching you a few years now, and just discovered Nolan Taylor myself a couple months ago..... 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
There's so much great information on this channel, but I keep coming back just to learn about so many of these great artists! Thanks for highlighting so many of these great folks, Michael!
I never post comments, but this is amazing. Michael's reaction mimicked mine, absolute frisson. Well done Nolan!!
Thanks, Michael... 1 minute into your video and I need to thank... :)
Wow man!!!!! Goosebumps all over and over. Feeling the pain he went trough.
