I just think it's so refreshing to see a guitarist and teacher so enthused about someone else's playing, most of the musicians I jam with are so jaded, especially fellow guitarists . I guess they have heard so much music and been so analytical that they disregard the emoting that players do when the notes are coming from emotions. Mr. Palmisano you are the real deal.huge respect to you.
I don't think you'll get many arguments. And combined with his singing? Dude's got soul. The thing is, there are so many incredible talents amongst the Gen x Gen Zers. Matteo Mancuso is a singular talent, Joe Bonamassa, Philipp Sayce are just a few of my favorites. I think Marcus has the most soul of all of 'em, and that is saying a lot.
I though “I ain’t got that in me” was a perfect way to describe it. At 58 years old, playing for 48 of em, I have decided there’s some players I’m just going to listen to and appreciate.
@@Guitargate Michael, please have a look at The Tesky Brothers, they have several live performances; Rain(Colors show), Paint my heart(live) and Honeymoon(live) 10 minutes of true musical awesomeness.
You are correct Marcus is a beast. Saw him live 2 times. WOW. He is in his 20's. Such a talent. Live you just stop and listen to his voice work with the music. It is life changing.
Ok so Marcus King was on my favourite podcast. And I found my way here. The way you break things down and your overflowing passion is very charismatic. High and tight. Keep feathering it, brother
I discovered Marcus King and his band and honestly a lot of the music I don’t like in my ear except for him and then one day I heard the granola freegoodbye Carolina and it is my wake up song every day. I am in love with that man truly cannot stop listening to his voice his tone in that guitar is just an extension of his heart🥰
The excitement this guy has for what Marcus King is doing here is simply infectious. I'm excited by the music, but I'm excited for how excited HE is about the music.
He’s 28 and his dad is also a musician go listen to Jam in the van Marcus king Rita is gone then he was younger and he’s amazing for sure bin a fan for years also he does a solo in a song with Jamie Johnson and the chicken Fried guy 😂👍
Met Marcus and band with his booking agent in Spokane Wa 4 years ago after a show. We stood on a sidewalk for over an hour just talking everything and music. Like hanging with your lifelong friends. GREAT KATS
Yo I went to high school with Marcus king and we went to music school together and we studied jazz there that’s where he gets his jazz touch from Steve Watson
Seen marcus king a handful of times over the last 3 or 4 years and everytime it's so different and he blows me away, one time it was a cover of war pigs by sabbath and it just blew my shit away next time I got some of the slow bluesier stuff and got to see his real soulful talent hes just so genuine and an amazing player and singer
Marcus is awesome and he has so much going on, but the thing that caught my eye the most? Watch him switch from pick to finger style and back. SO SMOOTH!
I can't stop watching your videos. Your geniune enthusiasm for great music in general draws me in. Your love and respect for masters of the craft whether they are new or old is as authentic as your taste . Thank you so much for these windows into your passion. It's contagious.
I'm a singing drummer and I thoroughly enjoyed this passionate, enthusiastic, loving, respectful and knowledgable breakdown of one of the planets rarest talents - that is Marcus King. I just saw him at the Enmore theatre, Sydney Australia and I felt blessed to be there to witness such a talent, an incredible complete package - his band was just as mighty. Thank you for also pointing out the greatness in his vocal ... seriously, it's other worldly! 🙏
I used to see these pop up in my feed and think “wow what an awful and cheap concept, I hate reaction videos” then I watched your videos and this is awesome stuff. For an intermediate to advanced guitarist like myself you break down just enough- you demonstrate your knowledge which is massively more than my own with humility but some real skill and a bloody brilliant ear. Nobody else is doing this and it’s great. Thank you.
Just subscribed and really like the channel! Learning just as you and really digging the music. So much talent out there. Loving it! Keep it up! and stay safe!
Love Marcus. He grew up not too far from me. He really draws some big inspiration from The Allman Brothers, specifically Dickie, Duane, and Warren. You can definitely hear it in his music!
Everytime I see one of your videos, it's great. Love the enthusiasm and joy you have for the music is wonderful, inspiring, and I might even learn something. Like this tune...
Every time I watch your videos, I get so much energy off of you. The way you react so passionately to the music comes through the screen into my soul and makes me want to delve deeper into theory, practice and jamming along. Great stuff man. Cheers
I subscribed! Great video! I do play, and admire your ear, and how quick you pickup what Marcus is doing. It's also refreshing to see that, like myself, you aren't having to learn it note for note, but rather capture the essence and make it your own. I love to see talented players like yourself getting excited, and inspired by other players. Looking forward to more videos.
This is the first video I’ve seen from your channel and it’s amazing. So informative but not too much and I love how you’re not forcing a reaction or personality. You are genuinely passionate and excited about all of these subtleties. I love it!
Been loving his records since I found him. Cool breakdown. It’s like sittin on the dock of the bay meets Georgia but he makes it his own. And every single song on his albums is an instant classic.
Just started watching your reviews today. I love how you break it all down and give props to the musicians. You, sir, have the heart of a teacher. Thank you for what you do.
Marcus is from my hometown! First time I saw him he was 15, and he was this good even then! He's a really nice guy, and he inspired a lot of local musicians. Come check out the Greenville, SC music scene sometime!
I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this. The appreciation he has for every little second of Kings playing and how you can see his appreciation etched in every facial movement! Excellent!
Marcus King's vocal performance on this is so...stunning. I know he's a superb guitarist. To see them combined so well is moving. And your teaching style is so cool! It's light on my mind and you put each new chord in context. I was just watching for fun, but I'm going to bring a guitar next time. Thank you.
I love your reaction videos so much. Your knowledge about music is astounding. I used to play in high school, but I don’t have any idea about music theory. What I love so much is your infectious enthusiasm and true appreciation for the artists you do these pieces on. Please, don’t ever stop. These videos brighten my day and I share them often.
New to the channel, I really like how you break it down, you are much more realistic than any other music channel, it’s kinda your “take” on it instead of trying to play note for note. Super awesome! Thanks
You know... Marcus King, Colter Wall, Jon Gomm and all these crazy good guys should be on EVERY playlist. And I think that because they don't look like Brad Cooper or whoever they don't get airplay or even chosen on my Alexa playlists even when I ask for them. Its an unjust and nutso world man... It's Towns Van Zandt and Blaze Foley all over again. Great break down of the music!
It’s like the love child of Lindsey Buckingham and Patrick Dempsey is out here doing perfect 30 minute reaction videos like it’s no big deal.

Jawdropping clarity. Thank you for this...

That's the perfect comparison 😂
There is nothing better than watching somebody who knows their craft so deeply just completely nerd out like this.
Tbh I learned more from watching these videos than I did in my actual college music theory classes.
Gospel, soul, r&b, country, and blues this dude is absolutely
a prodigy.
Marcus King, in my opinion, is the greatest guitarist of this generation.
Great video. Thanks.
100% Agree. Makes it look totally effortless. Saw him with Tyler Childers 2 weeks ago and it was the BEST concert I've ever seen!

Marcus King! Bringing back the music we’ve so desperately needed. Amazing vocals coupled with instrumental mastery.
Marcus’ dad, Marvin King, has sat here in my man cave on several occasions. Really good people.
“He has... which I don’t have”. Me too brother me too.

His “Goodbye Carolina” at the Opry IIRC, is phenomenal!
