Wow nice video
It's a beautiful light I enjoy watching your videos
I hope to god you were wearing a dust mask, that looks like an Australian grass tree root ball. The dust from them is really bad if you inhale it.
@@ianmcnab9534 I think he's discussed his PPE get-up and dust extraction in the past. It's pretty hardcore
Love the sharpening kit unboxing! 😂😂
This guy has the energy of a confident dad joke
That's strong Mate!
I think you have to have a reasonably astute mastery of dad jokes to grasp the depth of this fundamental truth.
@@drstrangefart isn’t that deep.
Nick has created one of the quirkiest characters to bring laughter and entertainment to the people. Plus the added benefit of watching some really cool stuff get made. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED ?
😍🎺😂😍
I love his zany personality what a fun person! I look forward to ever Friday. Nick Zammeti
Yes, yes I am! I love his videos.
Way the hell better then his first videos. Much more personality. Lol. Way too nervous I’m thinking back in the day.
Yes I am 🥰
I have been going through all your videos trying to find the transition point from quite nervous, awkward wood turner to very confident mad man head case wood art turner. Love your work and love the fact 90% of the time you have no idea what your going to do.keep it up Nick 💪💪💪💥
The black dots are the vascular tissue inside the tan parenchyma. Palms are monocots (rather than dicots like trees) and are more grasslike than woody. That's why there aren't any growth rings, sapwood, or heartwood. Depending on the species, the black vascular tissue may come out of a finished piece if not secured with resin. Coolest tulip lamp ever! I love the finished product!
Wow! You've got more descriptive answers than google, thanks for sharing! I absolutely love learning about the incredible things that come from nature, especially the wood I work with everyday.
Nick: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Me: "Almost never, no. No I'm not."
No one knows what he’s thinking. That’s why we tune in
Lmao yea I didn't know where he was going at that point hahah. I was like a leg lamp maybe? But wasn't too sure either lol
Maybe, but where are we going to find rubber pants at this hour?
my thoughts exactly:)
That’s what I was thinking.
BY THE WAY that would be an AMAZING way to display a resin sphere. Just tossing that out there.
Cast the wheat in a light yellow resin and give it the same general shape as the top of the wood piece
I agree a resin orb would look amazing. Especially if he uses some of the same colour in the orb as he did on the base
A cool dragon egg might be cool in this trumpet shaped object, as well. Something that matches the color you filled the holes with.
Ooooooo GREAT idea !!!!!
Darn it.... you beat me to it. Lol
"Are you thin, ing what I'm thinking?"
"Gee, I don't know Brain, where would we even get 500 gallons of Tapioca pudding? NARF!"
Burlap chafes me so Brain!
Yeah, but what would we do with an oyster petting zoo?
😂😂 no! That's still not legal
I think that is palm. Possibly queen palm. Porous, fibrous, and a bit punky at times. Stabilizing it with resin was a good call. Enjoyed the project. Thanks for the show.
I didn't know that there were different species of palm trees. You learn something new every day.
Have you ever seen another palm root that looks like this?
I was going to say the same. Palm is technically a dense grass, not true wood. Can make some nice things with it if you stabilize it though.
Or a fern
@@Earendilgrey Palm is a true tree not a dense grass but is a monocot like grasses so the wood does not have growth rings but is similar to a bunch of grass stems compressed together.
I love when the Yorkshire Grit makes an appearance in a strange way, or when you find it under random stuff 😄
The wood looked like a petrified elephants foot at first.
I thought the exact same thing!!!!
I thought so too!
Me three!
Exact my thought.
Yorkshire Grit is like Frank's Red Hot. He puts that s**t on everything!!!! Lol
Or like Townsend (18th century cooking) with his nutmeg, he also puts that in everything he can lol!
It's a root, that's why it has the little black spots, that's where it absorbs the water.. Beautiful piece Nick! Cheers!!
Looks more like the trunk of a grass tree to me. My grandpa turned a few and it lokks incedibly similar, the shape is also the right for whats lift when a grass tree dies off.
@@rosshayes9639 It's palm, which is actually a grass rather than a tree. So, yeah, basically the same!
Looks more like a the base of a Yucca to me
It's called a root but isn't, it's the core of a grass tree from Australia, commonly called a blackboy, the pointy end points up and has no contact with the soil.
@@angieemm oh yeah, it is a palm!!! I didn't recognise it because he's in the UK. I know he got this at an auction...but because of the UK thing, I never thought of it as a palm. Are there palms in the UK?
That piece of wood looks like a bruised leg with stubble! 😂
My leg has been broken 3 years now (non union femur fracture)...so I would have never thought that.
I swear to Jeebus you're about the only person on UA-cam I like enough to NOT be infuriated by another Raid: Shadow Legends ad read. Well, you and Bobby Duke. Seriously though as relaxing and enjoyable as the videos have been to watch I can't tell you how welcome they've been as a much-needed break from what's been happening Stateside over the last 8 or 9 months.
Is Jebus on your size?
Unclear. The dimensions of Jeebus aren't static as they're outside the laws of mortal physics. He might be, tho?
@@drstrangefart dangit xD not the answer I was expecting ^^
I does what I can
Am I going to watch a funkalicious video at 1:00 in the morning? Hell yeah.
It's 5am by me. Woke up couldn't sleep, might as well watch some funky Nick.
Exactly what I did lol
WOW ! The final result was very unique and AWESOME!!! Nick don’t ever stop!!! You bring smiles to a lot of faces and as someone battling cancer that says a tremendous amount so THANK-YOU👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Now that is funky! 🤩 One of my favourite things about watching your projects is trying to work out what the end result is going to be
Same here. O usually peek at the end, but in this one, it was hard to find.
When your desire to watch Nick make art outweighs your need for sleep. 😂😂😂 You win again UA-cam. Anybody hear Pinky in their heads when Nick asks "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"? "I don't know Brain."
The resin's not blue, the resin's not green. It's Aquamarine.
Turquoise
Is it just me, or did the close up shots (Espically after the resin set) make it appear that it was a HUMAN LEG!?
Yes, with 3 days stubble on it! ☺️
Love watching your videos. You have so much ENERGY and positivity it's almost infectious. And when feeling the lockdown depression lately, it's great watching your enthusiasm and antics! Pure entertainment resulting in beautiful works of art! Just seems to improve my mood and gets me motivated. Thanks for sharing your silliness along with the talent!
Frickin hell Nick, now there is a pirate looking for you to get his leg back.
Halfway through I kept saying, “it’s either going to be a lamp or a vase.” YOU DID BOTH! BRILLIANT! I love it!
I can't be the only one that's reminded of a wooden traffic cone? 😁 I thought for sure you were going to make some kind of vase!
He kept talking about Pinocchio's nose...I was kind of hoping it would have been his face with a really long nose.
My thought process was the same, a shiny wooden traffic cone.
I was so excited to see a video upload! Grabbed me a cup of joe, and loved watching the confusion turn into another masterpiece! I hope to someday own one! Good luck on getting to your millionth subscribers! Job well done Nick
Thank you 🙏🏽
Do Raid:shadow legends really believe everyone doesn't skip through their advert.
Love it.. I played for a while, when it first came out and I became bored to death cause unless you spend money, you will have to play for 10+ hours a day to get anywhere.. It is a trap to get your money...
@@TheWolfster001 I looked for reviews on the game and there are so many out there that basically say the same thing. Its not a good game unless you spend lots of real money.
@@Datrebor Yup, sad, there used to be a lot of totally free to play games, that were great, also sadly to many got greedy and you can still play free, but if you want to have anything good or help you advance, you have to shell out lots of cash.. On Raid, there are people who spend $100.00 and more every month on the game.. and there are lots of cheaters too.. That is why I quit the game, to many coiners and way to many cheaters playing..
Nice project outcome. It also would have been cool if you made it into an Olympic torch, with a flame coming out of the top 😁
Good morning and i hope you all are having a great start into the weekend 😊
At 8:46 when Nick closes into the wood to me it looks like a persons skin and the little black dots reminds me of blackheads that needs to be popped, sorry but have been watching to many popping videos, and when I saw thIs it reminded me of that.
That's what I was thinking also.
Didn't think of blackheads, but I did think that it looked like skin, too!
when you first started doing the smaller end, I thought it would be a really cool wall sconce. You could even make a resin flame to put on the end and light it up
I just love watching him. If I’m having a bad day, I watch him to cheer me up😊❤
Fun fact: Palm Trees are actually a type of grass.
Full of fiber.
@insanity wolf yet can make you think you are one.... 😳
Watch deer meat for dinner " swamp cabbage" food made from heart of 🌴
That fact is quite fun
Palms are not a grass a tree but palms are a monocot like grasses so have some similarities especially in how the wood is arranged and formed.
Yay!!!!!! It’s time for the Zed-Man on a Friday morning and a hot cuppa
I thought that piece of wood was like a termite hill or something at first.
Loved this piece Nick! Love watching you and your joy for life, cheers from the new world.
Keep on waffling, keep on waffling, keep up the awesomeness. Love all the projects!!!
The wood went from weird to wonderful :))
That just about describes Nick's whole channel💗💗⭐
That's a funky piece of wood
Consistently producing enjoyable videos while creating works of art. Thanks so much.
I love that he's always watching Back to the Future in the background.
I love your channel, Zammeti. I look forward to the time when you don't have to shill for Raid to pay the bills.
Genuinely nothing against you. If I had a channel, I would find it hard to tell them no, I'm sure.
Having sponsors for your videos is a very nice thing indeed, Raid included.
I knew my insomnia will lead to great things😅.
Thanks for lightening my day.
Just beautiful, Nick!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A new Nick video? Unwatched? Not on my watch!
Looks like the genie bottle from I dream of genie
I was thinking the same thing.
Also, wow! For not using a whole lot of resin, that turned out phenomenal!!! I love how organic the finished product is!!!
That is beautiful! I was not expecting the variegated colors. Nice!!
Turned out amazing as always!
The wood reminded me of my skin after it started healing from a burning wound 😂
Honestly, at 8:25 I thought Nick was showing us somebody's bruised up leg or maybe the arm from a dead body or something😅☠ I was about to be very concerned for what was going on in the Zammeti household...
Omg sammmmmme
Me too
I’m addicted to these videos, great channel, beautiful artwork.
Love how this turned out. Very cool🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙂
15:23 - Did I hear Nick say "Yorkshire Git"?
Nick - it’s a Australian grass tree ( used to be called a “blackboy tree”). I turn them all the time. J in Australia
Was trying to think what it was, have seen a few turned in wood turning mags but just couldn't remember it's name, cheers. G
Surely hope it's not a "blackboy" as they are a protected native species
@@jamiewoollard9829 - the root can only be obtained off a dead grass tree. Usually they would just rot into the ground unless collected. My roots are obtained of my property and not collected from any national parks or woodlands. Be assured of my environmental care principles. Kind regards
Mt absolute favorite channel and it's for videos much like this. You never know what you are going to get. Another great project Nick!!! Love it.
Sometimes I’m not sure where you’re going, but it’s cool to wait for the result. And the results are always so good. Thx for sharing, Nick...
Nick I love that you put the "zorro-mask" upside down!
Ofc totally intentionally, right? ;)
Nick: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Me (an intellectual): I think so Brain, but me and Pippy Longstocking, I mean what would the children look like? Narf
Love watching you work. Thanks🤙
Outstanding Nick. A real piece of art.
I looked like it had black head's on his wood
It's from a Fur tree. Those black spots are hair follicles.
It’s not, it’s a grasstree root
Uh trees don’t have hair follicles. And it’s fir not fur.
Looks like an extremely bruised limb! Cool and funky all at the same time.
This one is super neat, love it! The little resin is very subtle and adds a little ✨spice✨
"Can I make something without using resin?"
Sure!
I'd take the sawdust from what you already turned, mix it with wood glue to make a putty, fill in the voids, let it dry, and give it a smooth sanding.
Void is filled and matches well because you used the same wood.
*Unpauses video to continue watching*
Thought he would do that too.
That stubble reminds me of a women’s shaved leg just before she shaved again. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this was fun. Tfs hugs
Wow!!! That turned out beautiful. 🎺🎺🎺💜💛💚💙
Nice job Nick. Love the different woods together. 👍🏻
Not me genuinely believing that those were weights sitting in the bags, wondering where the actual sharpening plates were 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
😂
@@nickzammeti Is the blue bar to clean off the plates?
It looks like the trophy for cones of dunshire! Like if you know what I'm talking bout 😁
Another parks fan :D
@@ElwinWay yeah buddy!
It looks like it was an old pedestal for a bird bath. Very creative result. Looks very unique.
Interesting and fabulous! Thanks Nick!
Collab w/ Bobby Duke Arts? That would be amazing
Just like this piece
They would be hilarious together. They are friends.
@@frankierzucekjr GDBRKHSGDVD THEY ARE??
@@multiiversal I'm pretty sure. Nick runs that Maker's central place and Bobby goes to it, most of them know each other that way I think.
@@frankierzucekjr coooooool
That's so weird and funky. You make me chuckle. Have binge watched nearly all of your videos in these last 2 LD's and have to say thankyou for saving me from the madness of home schooling and working. You really area tonic. Keep on creating knowing your making people 😊. Hope you and your family stay safe and well. Thankyou
Lynne from Gosport.
I’ve never seen a better place for a colorful resin ball to sit...
Absolutely fabulous result..you always use such cool wood.
.I LOVE IT!!!
I like it with the light and the dried wheat grass in it. It goes beyond funky to the world of art.
That turned out really great 👍, very organic and original.
Very cool project Nick .. so different Quite a contraption you have holding that in place 😱 definitely works as a vase 🙌
Came out great. Better than I thought it would. I envisioned it the other way up with fibre optic fronds like a palm tree
That turned out very beautiful. I had no idea where this project was going. Very nice.
I love the pattern of dots on the surface and the color it turned out.
I swear that is the leg of a patient of mine!!!!! LOL. Absolutely beautiful. Love that you used the burl for the base. I can think of many things that I would put in it and LIGHT IT UP! Kudos.
I couldn’t imagine what would come of this...I’m in awe! It’s beautiful!
Very nice, I think it turned out really well. Thank you for sharing your video.
That turned out to be gorgeous and completely unique!
That is an ambiance piece for sure. Definitely looks better than what I initially thought.
I absolutely love you. I don’t do Instagram but watching you on UA-cam is a favorite of mine.
Love it with the light.
They came out beautiful❤️
You have a awesome sense of humor. Rock on!!!
I love the additional level of humor! That is one crazy sharpening kit
Absolutely stunning!
Beautiful as Always Nick! 💙💜💛🧡❤💯
