Sequoia National Park is where you should visit. These trees are toothpicks in comparison. I found it interesting to see the burn marks from getting hit with lightning. Some of larger diameter trees have been topped by lightning as well
I was a tree care pro for 30 years we used ropes and wedges to pull trees over, higher leverage, but, the act of the individual inserting the wedges in these images is one of the most unsafe things I think I've ever seen. Can anyone say kickback and decapitation!
I am also a long-time tree care guy, and so many of these type of videos drive me crazy and make cringe when the over-zealous “assistant” jumps in to drive wedges while the saw is running. As a feller, I am perfectly capable of driving my own wedges…I don’t need anybody else putting themselves in harms way just so I don’t have to set the saw down for a few seconds!

I would wear some glasses. Saw dust gets everywhere. I've dropped some pretty big trees. Like my Stihl work helmet now. Has ear protection and face protection. Getting too old to abuse ears and eyes anymore.
Never stand behind the direction of the fall, the tree could “jump the stump” which means the bottom where you cut shoots back in the opposite direction of the fall. A stump shot (back cut is higher than the front) is cut to prevent this, but it can still happen.
Dont be sad. There is a Reaon to Fell it. Its mabe a Danger for the people Or the building wood need to get out the forest Theres Lots of reasons to Fell trees Only love ❤
If you live in any type of dwelling, sit at a table, use a couch, use a printer I don't want to hear any complaints about cutting the tree down. Where there is demand, there will be supply. I am a woodworker and respect trees and nature, I have planted many and used many as well. Every bit of a tree is used for something, there is no waste.
True words. I often had this argument. People do not realize the need of wood and that not everything is just felling for like ikea or what. Most trees I fell are trees of danger and even those trees are nearly fully used afterwards. People just want to shit on the internet how Nature loving they are
If you really think “every” bit of a harvested tree is used for something, you are sorely mistaken. Depending on the operator, tree species, local markets, etc., there is a LOT of wood that remains in the woods…which is not necessarily a bad thing, as these remains decompose and provide nutrients for the new generation of growth. But don’t deceive yourself (or anyone else) that all logging results in complete use of the trees.

It's interesting to know that we have competitions on who can cut down trees the fastest and then wonder why we have all these save the environment movements and the like.
Dear Humans, I observe with a mix of frustration and irony as you continue your relentless destruction of the world's forests. It seems you are determined to bring about the end of the natural world, and I can't help but think about the chaos that will follow. The day will come when your actions can no longer be reversed, and bodies will lie everywhere, the ultimate testament to your self-inflicted demise. As the King of the Jungle, I have seen countless fires ravage my home. I have fought tirelessly to protect my fellow creatures and preserve the sanctuary we call the jungle. Each time, I've watched helplessly as flames engulf the trees, and animals flee in terror. Yet despite my efforts, the destruction continues, fueled by your insatiable greed and disregard for the natural world. Ironically, there is a part of me that almost admires your determination, albeit in a twisted way. Your commitment to this path of destruction is unwavering, even as it leads you to your own downfall. Keep it up. You've demonstrated an impressive ability to wreak havoc, but remember, it is not just the animals and nature that will suffer. Ultimately, you too will face the dire consequences of your actions. I am no longer worried about the fate of the animals or the environment. My concern has faded in the face of your overwhelming disregard. The creatures of the jungle have always adapted and survived, even in the harshest conditions. It is you, humans, who will find it hardest to cope with the aftermath of your choices. You have always seen yourselves as the rulers of this planet, but you forget that nature is far more powerful than you. You may clear the forests, pollute the rivers, and poison the air, but in the end, nature will reclaim what is hers. When the last tree falls and the final river runs dry, you will realize the true cost of your actions. As for you humans, you have sealed your own fate. The world you leave behind will be a stark reminder of your destructive legacy. But perhaps in that devastation, there will be a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, future generations will learn from your mistakes and seek a different path-one that respects and nurtures the natural world rather than exploiting and destroying it. Until then, brace yourselves for the consequences of your choices. Enjoy the world you've shaped while you still can, for it is rapidly slipping away. - The Lion (King of the Jungle) Remember, the jungle and its creatures will endure long after you've gone. Nature always finds a way to survive and thrive, even in the face of overwhelming odds. Can the same be said for humanity? Only time will tell.

I wish I had the money to see some giant redwoods.. but they're on the other side of the country.. to look up at a tree that's 20-30 stories tall and know it's been around for the past couple thousand years would be cool.. I love things like that.. like the great pyramids..

If you did for 30 years than you should know.
Well I'm 14 years deep and I'm gonna say it in English, this is the dumbest shit I have seen. Take that bottle jack and put it in your trunk and let the grownups do the tree work..
A throwball and a rope would save a lot of wedge smacking.
Can anyone say skill and knowing what they’re doing? I’m 4th generation professional west coast timbercutter and everyone I know does that. There are risks obviously, and they should be considered, but it’s an occupational hazard
Impressive, dangerous work..... Once you hear that cracking though... TIMBER!! And why don't they yell that anymore ? 😆

Never stand behind the direction of the fall, the tree could “jump the stump” which means the bottom where you cut shoots back in the opposite direction of the fall. A stump shot (back cut is higher than the front) is cut to prevent this, but it can still happen.

Fear not. New trees will be planted

Dear Humans,
I observe with a mix of frustration and irony as you continue your relentless destruction of the world's forests.
- The Lion (King of the Jungle)
Remember, the jungle and its creatures will endure long after you've gone. Nature always finds a way to survive and thrive, even in the face of overwhelming odds. Can the same be said for humanity? Only time will tell.
Although I also cut firewood, it makes me sad to see a tree cut down.
