    Nice video. My gen 7 I've used SO MUCH since i got it like 10 years ago and still want to use it. Only works when plugged into power source. Im confident in my ability to do this but my soldering skills are god awful. Soldering guitar cables hasnt gotten any better all these years later. Thank you

      Hi, I followed all the steps but when it came to soldering the battery out it wouldn't come off easily so pried out while soldering. Put the new battery in but now it won't work at all. Any ideas? Did I pry out the connector pins? Is there anything I can do before I conduct the last rites? )-:

      Una pieza maestra de ingeniería pensada en mantener al usuario comprando y comprando hasta que ya no vuelva a encontrar soluciones a los problemas diseñados desde el inicio. Apple hace cosas muy buenas, pero no duran nada, y por el precio de sus productos deberian respetar mas a los consumidores.

    I normally just deal with the "classics" but i really love the 7th gen nano, but im not paying what most people are charging for them on ebay, plus you will probably have to either throw it or do this anyway at some point. THANK YOU for this, Ive subbed and confuident too that i can now buy a dead one and bring it back to life. Cheers. Looks really simplle but i bet its NOT. Cheers

    Hi, very helpful video I recently bought one of these with a battery problem and i’m gonna follow your steps to try to fix it, i’m new to soldering and wondering when you were lining up the new battery to the solder did you just heat up the metal you put on the battery to make them stick together? thanks a lot!

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 роки тому +4

      Basically. Be sure to preload the metal tabs on the battery with new solder, heat up the tab, then place a small amount of solder onto them. Careful when lining up the tabs, and do not put too much solder.

    hi again, so I did it , but I l accidentally put too much iron to a point where it’s just a blob on the battery part would it be fine if i left it as is? I cannot seem to figure out a way to remove it

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 роки тому +4

      As long as the solder is not jumping into the other tabs (connecting negative to positive) you should be okay. To remove excess solder just heat up the solder and use a copper wire to extract the excess.

    Can I add that part in too? Im having problems connecting to my headphones/aux port.

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  3 роки тому +2

      They are either black or white, depends on actual color of iPod. If you are having problems connecting to that port then it does need to be changed. I can make a video of that if needed…

    • @rmg2419

      @@TheFixTech That would be great! I bought my iPod on eBay and I think it was refurbished and I think they took out the white plastic part that covers the inner circle port. And now the connection messes up easily and distorts the sound.
