@@gl5727 That was actually one of my favorite parts of the job! I got to zone out and do my own thing, plus cleaning dishes is pretty gratifying. I really enjoyed doing prep work, too.
I'm currently a manager at a store in ND, USA., and honestly, there's a lot of technical numbers to keep track of. Like every other store: food cost, food waste, units projected within all product, labor cost, etc. It is different, I agree! Not baking it in-house may seem different to some, but that's what makes the product/brand special! Its perfect for families that don't have enough time throughout the day, but can still make this when the family is settled at home! You can freeze them, (not recommended by corporate) but it can work for 5 - 7 days, depending if it has meats and cheese. Also, let it thaw for at least 30 minutes if you freeze them. The veggies are all fresh, so freezing them might be a different taste for some.
I thought the same thing and resisted going in, but I decided I might as well give it a try. Here are some pros I discovered: 1. Pricing is usually less, on Tuesdays all large pies are $10 2. Since it is not cooked or ready for consumption, most Papa Murphy's accept EBT (Food Stamps). 3. If your family gets home at different times, you don't have to guess when to order to have fresh pizza for all, just wait till all gets home and cook it. 4. Cooking is quick and easy with cooking times being 8-12 minutes for regular crust to 20 minutes for the stuffed crust. 5. You do not have to worry about tipping a driver. 6. If you think about it, you can actually get a pizza faster by ordering from online/app, picking it up, then cooking it. With all that you are still saving time. Dominos and others take 45 minutes or more and the pie is usually luke warm. 7. The taste is on par with any other pizza chain. Really, all you are doing is trading convenience for price and quality.
It's called, "No. I don't want to sit in a restaurant and have 28 people watch me consume an entire large pizza by myself in my underwear. I'd rather do that kind of thing at home."
@@MarkMcDaniel it's much better than a $7 store frozen pizza. If you are going to pay that much go to Papa Murphy's on a Tuesday and get a $10 pizza(s)

Why do I have to pay for making tea myself Lol.
S Thomas Was the water HOT or out of the tap like all tbe places in my home town I do miss the old days of a great cup of hot tea made professionally And now you cant even get real brewed iced tea anymore... just this kool aid stuff that comes out of a bag in a machine
That offends me and I'm from the U.S. No one should disrespect the tea like that. If you order some tea, you better get the damn tea already brewed and steeped and with the little sugars on the side if you want sugar.
I love this thread. You guys are upset about tea..... must be such a hard life. Gosh I wish I could help you struggling souls. Must be hard being a prick.

How did I not know about you when my family lived on the AF Academy in Colorado Springs! We there about 18 months ago and are now in Italy. Please come and do a show!
Hilarious! And I feel the same way about the head of lettuce- no matter where I go, when I order a salad, I have to spend a half lifetime chopping the whole thing up. They give me lettuce with like a whole tomato, an unpeeled onion, a block of cheese, and the recipe for Ranch. My friends and family have all eaten and gone to see the latest butchering of Star Wars while I'm still at the grocery store buying a cutting board to make my own dinner on. Takes almost as long as back in the Dark Ages when they were baking their own pizza!
Had no idea this place existed we don't have these in the U.K. This is absolutely ridiculous if I wanted a pizza to take home and bake I'd just go to the supermarket 😂
It’s definitely better than super market pizza it’s fresher better ingredients actually fresh dough is made each day usually it is a little cheaper than everywhere else for better pizza
I have had their pizza and it was really good. I think it is good idea to have this kind of pizza when you want to have a gathering or a party. 😎👑🎂🎈🎀🎁🎉🎊🎆
Just came across this one. I'd never seen a Papa Murphys until I moved to Colorado...love it. But I'm also of the age that I remember in the late 80s early 90s there were many Take and Bake places. Papa Murphy's the only one left.
I go to my big-name-brand ingredient pack store to buy my pizza ingredient packs for $23 each that makes a 10' pizza and cook it at home. It's just flour, tomato sauce, and cheese. I thought it was crazy at first, but the satisfaction of a home-cooked meal is so worth it!!! And soo healthy!!
Tbf yea you need to cook it yourself , but with the quality . If it was a delivery or like little Cesars “hot and ready” you’d be paying 20$ instead of 6$ and they could do it as well . It’s that good
The first time (and only time) I ever ate at Papa Murphy's, I didnt even know what it was, i just saw a pizza place. And I was very disappointed to find out I had to cook it myself. I didnt even think it was all that great.
I remember the feeling of disappointment of having my Dad order a pizza from these guys and being really hungry and excited to eat. Then i find out we have to take it home and wait even longer for it to bake. 🙄 It was like some kind of sick joke. It wasn’t even mind blowingly good for all that hassle. Just very mediocre and forgettable. Basically, about the same as a grocery store frozen pizza. I know another place to never go again and it’s Papa Murphy’s. I’ll go to the other Papa that doesn’t do sick crap like this.
It actually makes sense. You can pick up your pizza at any time in the afternoon and bake it fresh when you are ready to have dinner, no cold, rubbery pizza that sat out for 2 hours.
I just discovered this today. We got their ad in our mail, and today I went on their website to order online. First two red flags that I had ignored: 1) "Take n' Bake Pizza" as their slogan. 2) only pickup and no delivery. They don't even have an 'About Us' page. They need a much clearer warning than this. Then again, maybe that's how they attract their customers, but I still feel duped though.

You must not have an electric oven the do not cook food evenly and one side would be burnt in the oven I have

YOU CAN ORDER PIZZA
Dominos is a thing.
It's called pickup or delivery
Lol, I know this is a joke, but Papa Murphys is actually really good. The Chicago style is awesome!
Clark Johnson -- Good, tell them to buy a fcuking oven and cook it. If I'm cooking my own pizza, it'll be a $7 store bought one.
