@PsychoKiller639 Yeah, I think old age is probably the biggest factor, but you can't say that losing an election and getting almost assassinated does not give you a sense of humility and gratitude. And it all paid off in the end for him!

I was not a Trump supporter (nor Hillary), but watching election night unfold was one of the most thrilling experiences in tv history, imo. Watching an entire industry, secure in their notions, dissolve over the course of 8-10 hours was amazing. A rare example of an outsider taking on an institution and winning.
I saw it more as the moment that the American system of representative democracy finally collapsed in on itself, but it was just as thrilling to watch.

Speak for yourself, I absolutely LOVED the Republican half of the 2016 presidential race. We NEEDED someone like Trump to start getting our nation back on its feet after 4 years of Bush Sr., 8 years of Clinton, 8 years of Bush Jr., and 8 years of Obama.
I never liked Trump until the presidential race! I loved how he talked about this country needing strength, someone powerful to lead the people, and he admitted his faults, and told the truth about other things! He could see where our country was heading, and he was right! They stole his 2nd term and followed through with their plans😠!
The way that Trump just doesn't care about being politically correct is what won me over. I was like an avid trump hater at the start. But like, he actually won me over a few days before the election. I didn't vote that year because I still wasn't crazy about either candidate. But I did root for him after I did more research into Clinton. We would've most likely been put into WW3 if Clinton won.

Trump winning the nomination than the presidency was the biggest altering of the timeline we could’ve asked for. The political class losing was a win for everyone
Lmao, he said that right as I read this comment (the basket case thing), which is pretty funny. Honestly, if I had to pinpoint one unique aspect, it’s that Trump is a seasoned businessman. He has spent his entire life closing deals. That’s why I think if anyone could audaciously shake hands with Putin and demand changes, it would be Trump. This isn’t just because he’s a narcissist. It’s also because renown is one of the most sought-after qualities worldwide, especially for a world leader. Trump certainly has that fame. Take Kim Jong-un, for example. He wanted basketball star Dennis Rodman to visit North Korea. Now, imagine having a famous president and celebrity like Trump coming to your country and negotiating specific terms. Trump has built his reputation as a celebrity businessman for the past 40 years, and that has a brainwashing effect that can influence anyone he talks to. These are just my thoughts, and I’m sure they could be easily rebutted. This is just a small fragment of my opinion. I used voice-to-text, so there might be some extra words in there, lol.
8 years later and he was right about everything, ESPECIALLY THE BORDER. Oh and now he’s back. These are about to be a great next 4 years. He’s the only president that guarantees you to make more money because of just how many corporate jobs are about to become available.
Well he is more conservative than Trump, ideologically speaking. Trump isn’t really conservative, e.g. anti-free trade, small military, raising tariffs and giving out govt subsidies, anti-intelligence agencies, anti-DOJ - these were all considered “left-wing” positions in US politics for many decades and are still what progressive liberal democrats believe.

And however you may feel about his wording and conduct, he's one of the few that really does care about the country
They purposefully called Carson quietly because they don't respect him. So Carson didn't hear his name. It's also pretty loud up there. Trump was being a bro by waiting with him and forcing them to call his name loud enough that everyone would hear and give him applause as well.
I remember watching all of this live when it happened. I can’t believe it’s been over eight years. I forgot how funny and true all of this was and how much truer it is now.
Not to mention the moment where Ben Carson missed his original cue to go out on the stage and stood awkwardly in the hallway. Everyone else passed by Carson, but Trump patted him on the shoulder and stood side-by-side with him until after Carson was called a second time. With both his words and his actions, Trump seemed more genuine than anyone on that stage other than Carson, and Carson withdrew very early on.

Watching an entire industry, secure in their notions, dissolve over the course of 8-10 hours was amazing. A rare example of an outsider taking on an institution and winning.
I saw it more as the moment that the American system of representative democracy finally collapsed in on itself, but it was just as thrilling to watch.

It's like he's the only one up there that seems authentic and genuine. The rest of the politicians on that stage have a script in their heads.
Yup
Not to mention the moment where Ben Carson missed his original cue to go out on the stage and stood awkwardly in the hallway. Everyone else passed by Carson, but Trump patted him on the shoulder and stood side-by-side with him until after Carson was called a second time.
With both his words and his actions, Trump seemed more genuine than anyone on that stage other than Carson, and Carson withdrew very early on.

@@PopcornLoverrWho said that? Never ever heard of Jack Kennedy.
@@nyccollin Either you're a young person who hasn't studied much history, or an older person who's making a joke. Even if it's the latter I'll explain. John F. (Jack) Kennedy was elected President in 1960 and is widely considered one of our best and smartest presidents. In the 1988 VP debate, Senator Lloyd Bentson (R) was debating Senator Dan Quayle (D). Quayle was considered a dope and the subject of many late night TV jokes. During the debate, Quayle was asked about his lack of experience. His answer was that he had as much congressional experience as John Kennedy did when he ran for president. Benson replied, "I served with Jack Kennedy, I knew Jack Kennedy, Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine - and Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy." It was one of the best zingers in the history of American politics.
