For the fuel system, any reason you went with -4an to each rail instead of -6an to each, in the process of buying all the parts I need for my SC LS400 build. Also in regards to the radium fitting. Their website lists 2 parts for the M14 inverted flare to -6an, one is short, (14-0118) and the other is long, (14-0121). Which one did you get? Thanks.
-4AN is an adequate flow size at the FP psi delivered and for the demands of the system up to about 450whp, which I’ll never see, so -6AN would have been overkill. I actually didn’t end up using the Radium fitting and I’m not sure if it would have worked or not. Apparently some systems are short and some are long, so you really need to verify on yours (or do what I did and just cut the soft line and use a barbed splitter. 👍
You did a phenomenal job with this series. I'm sure thousands of us appreciate the thorough breakdown of the process and even went out of your way to make a parts list. The list alone is extensive!!! From all of us in the UZ community, thank you for all you have done.
That’s one of the kindest comments I have received in a long time. Thank you for typing it. 99% of people probably don’t realize that filming, editing and producing adds twice as much time and effort to every job. It honestly sucks. And I assure you that what I receive from ad revenue is like a small tip or what I call, “hobby money.” I’ll never make it big doing this, but for now it’s enjoyable and good folks like you keep me going. Thanks again. 👊
I fully understand the added time it all takes. It makes me 2nd guess recording at times. Sometimes i just want to wrench and enjoy the project, and i dont receive any "hobby money" 😆. Keeping it enjoyable is key, and i hope you enjoy it much longer.
It stayed exactly the same and I track it religiously. 99% of driving is partial throttle, closed loop, so really there was no negative impact in regards to mpg.
Ive had my 1998 GS 400 same color I bought it from one of my teachers and I just saw your channel a few weeks ago and it really inspired me to wrench on my GS more. I love your videos they are very well in detail and I cant wait to see what a beast your GS will turn into!!
Man great video really appreciate the detail. Just picked up an LS400 and am so hyped on the 1UZ platform. Subscribed and will definitely watch the rest of the videos in the series!
Wow Christian, just when I though your amazing videos couldn't get more epic, bamm! I've been considering forced induction for a minute, and I can't wait to see how your blower works out! I also highly recommend an LSD insert. My OS Giken superlock is finally broken in, and it's running smooth and lighting up both tires for some super fun power slides!
Im prepping my 430 for a manual swap and a supercharger, I was gonna use your manual swap series for the transmission and speed academys superchargered ls430 videos, but now I can get them all in the same place!!(and you explain things soooo much better)
Great to hear, thanks! Your 430 will have some minor differences from my 400, such as ECU reflash (mine can’t be flashed) and stuff, but most of it is the same. Good luck. Let me know how it goes!
Ok, now do one for a 2JZ lol. I really wish adding that style of supercharger was applicable to the 2JZ. I see guys run centrifugal, and do NA-T builds, but to me, nothing beats the whine of a supercharger. I did see a guy in Australia add one with a bird catcher on a 2JZ, it's a burnout car and super unusual to not go turbo but he was getting major power from it. Love your vids, makes me want to buy a 400 or 430. I've also contemplated a SC430, they're so ugly yet underappreciated with a fantastic motor.
I agree with you on many counts. I wish I had the luxury to make vision both 300’s and 4X0’s. I think the issue is the inline runners and how to get an adapter plate with small outlet into 6 runners efficiently using this style of blower. I also like the SC430’s actually. I would definitely consider one of those.
So Cal Pick Your Part yards regularly have 3.8 v6 Buick's in the yard with M90 Eaton Superchargers on them. Under $100 you can buy one!!!!!!Go online and look at each yard's inventory.. photos show under the hood...if you see the supercharger on a buick get down there to unbolt it!
Good tip! I was originally going the M90 route to see how cheaply I could bolt on 6-8psi, but I personally found M90’s in my area all beat to crap and in need of a $500 rebuild. At that point I found my M112 for $550 shipped without needing a rebuild, so I opted to go that route. M90’s are definitely out there though!
Highly doubtful it would pass visual. Sniffer? Yes. I haven’t changed a thing in regards to the OEM emission control system. Heck, it may even burn cleaner. But Kalifornia regs would result in a visual issue. What do they call it, getting ref’d?
Nice. I’ll definitely be following. Was hoping someone with a gs400 would do this ever since I saw the speed academy guys install it on the LS430. My gs400 has been sitting for a year haven’t decided what to do with it…….😈
Will you be doing a cost rundown for the supercharger build? Also you are doing amazing things for the GS and 1uz platform and all of us watching are grateful for your content 🙏
Thanks! You’ll need to go through the list in the vid description and look it up. The reason I don’t put cost/item is because a lot of the pricing is variable by region, someone might be watching this 10 years from now when pricing is totally different, and I want to be respectful to vendors and not put them in a bad spot.
Question if i was to do this build on my 03 430 do I still need the other electronics you have in this build or would getting the ecu remapped by quantum auto work in place of those or would I still need them

I don’t know exactly, maybe 250whp? Not much. I don’t have headers. If you shim the accumulators and run a cooler it should last for a while at 5-6psi. Eventually it will go with enough WOT runs though.
Maybe I’m not understanding the question, but I can tell you with 100% certainty the 3.65 pulley that comes on the Cobra M112 will fit if you have the inner and outer lips lathed off. You also have to cut the hood support flush to the skin. This will be covered on EP3 in greater detail. The problem with the 3.65 pulley is it will require larger injectors, which requires a controller, which requires an AFR gauge. Never ends does it? 😳
No. Not possible on the 400. Have to piggyback it. I’ll be using the SS Enricher, Apexi NEO, Walbro 255 and larger injectors to get my 11.0-11.5 AFR target.
Welcome, my brother. I wanted to ask you, my dear... I have a GS 400 model 99. I don't know what happened to it. When I install it, the agency filter does not work well at all.
