Can’t wait to see what this beast does after it’s all done! 350whp would be impressive! Closer to 400 would blow me away!!👌🏼 And to think my 260 whp 99’ 400 was fast at all lol I mean I did beat some cars I didn’t think I would with my Lexus but this thing will surprise people for sure😎
With an ethanol mix it would definitely hit 350+ on the dyno. Id upgrade injectors first. Ethanol can and on boost it's unreal. I like doing blends. Ethanol by itself would gunk up my fuel pump.
I have the exact same car, all stock and in the same color, Cinnabar Red Pearl. Your 5-speed conversion has me considering the same for my car. Very nice work. Keep it up.
The manual swap made it a lot of fun! But you lose some comforts. Be sure to check out my episode on the 5 things I hate about my manual swap before you do it. 😎
I have a 1998 GS400 in the same Cinnabar. I do all my own wrenching on it. I am so glad you did this series, I am most certainly going to do this mod someday if you think the performance is worth it.
It’s a blast (literally). 2nd gear rolls are my favorite. But I have had to be nice running lean like this. 330’s go in this weekend, then it’s time to let her rip a bit. My biggest worry would be the A650 if I bolted on an M112. It would be fried in no time without mods.
Love that fuel line fix. I have seen guys weld the bung to a AN fitting. But that works. Actually, you could have done AN push lock fittings as an alternative on the fuel rails
I just saw hose clamps, so it looked like a barb, my bad. I actually use Push Lock Clamps on my fuel lines with a crimp tool. I didn't like the idea of a hose clamp coming loose, and I thought would be more permanent.
I’m about to manual swap my 1UZ swapped IS300 from 99’ GS400. Super excited from your videos, I can’t imagine how it must feel with a manual supercharged Lexus V8.
@@ForwardMomentum the 1UZ is definitely a little more raw than the ISF. Atleast in my is300 that’s how I feel. Only thing I hate about my ISF is that they never came manual
Hi, I have a GS300 ~ it's a 2006 car with keyless entry. I just had an oil & filters service done at a local repair shop who I've used for years and trust. Anyway, about 25 miles into driving a number of warning lights came up. Tyre pressure, vsc, brakes, engine eftc.. Tyre pressures are all equal and correct, there appear to be no issues with the car but the lights stay on. Any bright ideas would be welcome. Finally, my aircon stopped working, just blows hot no matter how It's set. A disaster in hot weather! I'm in the UK and this is my 5th Lexus...love 'em!
Have you scanned the car for codes? If there are no codes, it could be a wheel speed sensor. You’ll need a special scanner to see which one. That’s usually why all those lights come on. Regarding AC probably need to run through diagnostics in the service manual. My guess is it’s low on refrigerant. Good luck!
Thanks, I'm going to have it checked out. The battery was changed so the reconnection could be the cause I'm told. I'll let you know how it goes, David
The stock injector size is 275cc and fuel pressure should be between 45-50psi, I'm thinking that you're right on the dot regarding not enough fuel is being pushed. Theoretically at 90% duty cycle we are looking at 340whp and 380whp at max duty cycle.
It depends on how you measure the stock injectors I believe. Meaning, the method. Because I’m told by industry experts that the injectors are 251-255cc. Nonetheless, your point is valid and the 330’s I have installed now are amazing. I went from trying to add nearly 30% (wasn’t possible due to duty cycle) to pulling up to 20% with the 330’s to hit 11.0-11.5 AFR. Crazy!
Hey Christian, what was the reason for removing the studs under the intake manifold? It looks like you didn’t put them back in, was it for the supercharger adapter or was it for easier access to the bypass bolts? I’m replacing my starter and intake gaskets and coolant bypass gasket so I was wondering if the studs need to be put back after removal
Hi - I believe Elate requires it for the adapter due to the design of the adapter itself and general fitment. If your engine is not supercharged with an Elate adapter, it should be restored to OEM configuration, including studs. I hope that helps!
@@ForwardMomentum thanks! I was wondering as I’m doing the timing belt and starter at the same time and when I saw the studs come out it made me go !!!! lol
I hope you can reply to this, do you know if this supercharger setup will work of the second gen non vvti 1uzfe (for an ls400)? I really want to supercharge my car but I am worried that the components will not fit, I understand some things may be different such as the belt and whatnot but I’m mainly worried about the actual fitment of the supercharger I can deal with small obstacles such as the belt later. Thanks!
I know this is a couple of months later but on the an fittings for your fuel setup, never use sealant on the threads of any flared fitting, the flare is doing the sealing not the threads.
Actually it’s often determined by fitting type (e.g. NPT or NPTF). That’s how the determination to add sealant is made and I should note it’s a raging debate in the flare fitting community. There’s no hard and fast rule that “a flared fitting doesn’t get sealant on threads.” By design it SHOULDN’T, but cheaper components with imperfections tend to circulate in the Amazon world, thus the sealant on the threads tends to improve the connection in that regard. I have used this method 6 times now with zero leaks, so I will personally continue to do so. Thanks for commenting though.
@@ForwardMomentum starters I am an aircraft mechanic, I know the fitting type determines if thread sealant is used. Build quality or not a/n fittings are ment to seal by the flare, that's it, the army navy standard says do not use sealant. If an a/n fitting is leaking check for nicks or damage to the flare, if nothing you tighten the fitting until it stop leaking.
Excellent we’re in the same industry. 👍 Unfortunately these are not aircraft certified. Again, it’s a raging debate online. Again, we do agree how flared fittings work though, so that’s good. 😎
My friend has the exact same car with all the same mods. He has an IC and headers though. He put down 330whp / 330tq. Without IC and headers I’ll probably be 315whp / 315wtq.

Very interesting on the mix. I finally have it dialed in (330 injectors are installed and AFR is now good). That being said, a SA is north of two grand.
