- In this video we show you how to disable the keyless locking on your Range Rover L405. This will help you from having your car stolen as many car thiefs now use this feature to get into your car.
DRIVER DOOR MUST BE LEFT OPEN, IGNITION MUST BE OFF, KEYFOB INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE APPLIED INSIDE THE CAR! 100% working 2013 to onwards!
Hi Berk - I have pinned your comment to the top... as it think it adds some clarification
I do really appreciated for this kind of tricky videos 🙏🏼🙏🏼 do you mind me record How to remove L405 boot cigarette lighter connection vent? Because I would like to connect hidden rechargeable gps tracker behind the vent using cigarette lighter power as a charger. Thank you so much indeed 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Does this work on a 2021 L405
Works a treat - make sure you have the car door open as I tried it with the door closed and it didnt work. Well done guys ! Pity that Land Rover don't make this public info.
I’m glad you said something about the car alarm as i was in a panic for a moment there
Im supposed be working but these videos are so good I watch, learn and go out to my car to put into practice, watch the next one open mouthed and out I go again. Keep it up, love it.
Dont blame me if you get sacked !
Worked successfully on 2017 L405. Initially I made the mistake of keeping only the passenger door open. For clarity sit in drivers seat with drivers door open, ignition off and it works a treat.
Thanks for the extra clarification - this may help others !
Has to be the driver's door that is open, not passenger etc. Excellent video, thank you guys !!
I am mew to L405 family..all your videos are very informative...
Many thanks
Thanks and welcome
Works on 2012 Discovery 4. Didn't work first time so don't give up after just one attempt. As stated, you have to be in the car with the driver's door open and ignition off. On the FOB press 3 X Light button immediately followed by 1 X Unlock button. Get out the car, close the door and lock with the FOB Lock button. Done.
Thanks for the tips and advice Geoff
@@L663 Are you kidding me? haha. I'm just clarifying what you guys said, not bringing anything new to the table. You guys on the other hand have been putting out great, informative videos for years now. Don't think I have met an LR owner that hasn't watched one of your videos at some point. Keep up the great work guys, it really is appreciated!
Thanks Simon a great help and just carried out the removal of the keyless entry no problem
This works on a 2013 Disco and 2016 Evoque too.
I’ve got a 2012 model. Do you know the sequence for that? Thanks in advance
Will this definitely prevent my car being stolen like a Ghost 2 would?
2013 Range Rover Vogue se. Didn't work for me, lights came on, indicators flashed and that was it. Any ideas guys. Great channel by the way.
This worked well on my L405 MY2015, thank you :) I'm guessing that this will also reduce battery drain as the system isnt constantly trying to communicate with the key fob when locked?
Glad it worked - interesting point about the battery - not sure but your theory sounds good !
Love your channel, I always find a solution here but I can not find this one
Issue: with my 2016 Sport HST
Is with my driver door, when driving the door locks (and all doors & all light illuminate), but when park I can not lock it by pressing the lock. All doors will lock except the driver's door (driver light does not illuminate). My temporary solution is using the physical key, and locked from the outside
I start having this since I had my key under a new cover. probably was pressing the bottoms randomly on the key.
would you think this is a key configuration issue, because driver door locks and the light illuminates when driving?
It sounds like it could be a weak solenoid in the door - when the car is running you have 14v and only 12v when the car is not running.
Try it with a battery charger hooked up to the car... this will give you 14v
Love that troubleshooting, I will try that, thanks @@L663
If this not locking , how to fix it ??? Model Jaguar Land Rover 2015.
If you can find out how to disable/deactivate the Auto Folding Mirrors, that would be appreciated. I don’t need mine to fold when I lock the Car and being a JLR Mechanical Part, it’s just a matter of time before it breaks! 😂
I cant manage to do it can you please help me
Thanks a lot guys, worked for me first time on 2020 p400e lwb feel a lot safer now going to bed!
Sweet dreams !
The key still transmits though doesn't it? If the key is still transmitting then the thieves can grab the signal and simulate you pressing the fob.
these are 2 different systems. The keyless locking is one system that transmits one signal to open the door - the other system is the keyfob pressing one. This process turns off the keyless unlock function on the car. Test it yourself - follow the video - then stand next to the car with the key and press the button - the car will not unlock !
Yes but the flux capacitor is not active so they cannot active warp drive....
powerfulukltd It doesn’t mean those motherfuckers won’t try LMFAO props
Brilliant vital info well Done guys well done ! 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks. Useful
Glad it was helpful!
Hello,
I have tried this on my evoque with keyless entry and it does not work. My car tries to lock and my hazard lights flash. What I’m I doing wrong people.
Neil Newman is the driver door open?
Doesn’t work on my 2016 L405 any ideas ?
I have not tried but i expect it would work - you may need to do this with both keys
@@L663 thanks for the quick reply ,yes did try this to no avail anybody else on here tried it with the 2016 year lol ps keep up the good work great videos..
Brilliant. Thanks. Keep my keys in a t bag tin in the microwave 50 foot from car.... This is better though.....😊😊😊👍
Do you guys know who to disable it on the evoque 2011
Hi our 2011 evoque does not have this feature ! try this method - the guy below seems to think it works on his 2016. You could unplug then sensors in the door handle - would have same effect !
powerfulukltd have tried this method unfortunatly it didnt work. What plug would require unplugging to deactive keyless but not mess up the alarms and locking mechanisms
I think if you remove the door handle you can unplug the sensor
try this video
ua-cam.com/video/w8oiuL0qA1A/v-deo.html
Unplug the connector on the door handle and see if it still works... as you can see our car has no connections.
Hi can anyone help
On how to stop
The start/stop feature on the car it’s annoying when I am a traffic like and the car turns off
Momin Rob Yup. It’s very easy in the cargo area on the right hand side there is a module that’s basically a capacitor. All you have to do is unclip the 2-conductor wire if I remember correctly. You have to unfasten the interior body panel above the wheel well and that module will be between the rear seat and the cargo area light. There’s already a zip tie in there to keep it from rattling and I just put a little electrical tape on it to be absolutely sure. I hate eco-boost as well. Had that shit figured out the first night I brought the truck home last year. I took 2 or 3 photos, i’ll take a look and see if I can find them and just let me know how I can get in touch with you if you want them.
The eco-boost inactive indicator in the console stays on all the time I think and the one in the instrument cluster lights up whenever it would normally try to cut off. I’m trying to remember what the name is that they gave to the little capacitor module. In some vehicles it’s a smaller 12 volt battery, @ the size of a small brick. This module or battery might not be located where I’m telling you if you don’t have a 2018+. In the 2013-2017s I think it’s under the hood opposite from the regular battery, it might also be in a fuse box closer to the battery or inside the vehicle under the dash. Seems like it’s called maybe a supplemental power module or power conditioning module or power quality module or something. It doesn’t look like much of anything but it’s got a big ass ground cable attached to it that gives it away, it’s brass-colored and has a bolt sticking out the top. Anyway, good luck with it
Found photos.. Sorry they're so dark. It's not easy to see what you disconnect there but when you look at your own I think it will become more obvious you're disconnecting the connector with the 16-20 gauge signal and control wires. You're leaving the battery cables connected so as not to throw off any diagnostics or have a problem from not keeping the thing charged and in the circuit. The power in/out cables are pretty substantial and that just makes the thin little control wires harder to see in my dark photo. Good luck with it man. photos.app.goo.gl/hPByG5aA3kMJZszE7
This doesn't seem to work on my 2013 L405. I do as shown and all that happens, is the headlamps switch on and door lock clicks, with indicators flashing on dash. Tried several times. Same as you have done it. Tried with ignition on also. Is this year specific? Any advice much appreciated.
Appears no by the lack of response. I having the same issues and it's also 2013.

Good video ty
You need to leave the door open. Whilst doing it
Very good point !
Its like Landrover are saying a big fuck you to its customers, its like they don't care. I think keyless entry really should be disabled as standard
You are perhaps a little harsh but there is some true in your comments.... PS its Land Rover... not Landrover....
@@L663 but how much does Land rover cost though, they need to be doing better 80k for a car and someone can just walk off with your car. It shouldn't take people like you to help us secure our car, they should be coming up with these ideas. May the key should encrypt the signal it sends to the car
@@MrSupertings Hi as i understand Tesla does not have a key it uses your phone and they have a very low theft rate...
@@L663 so my question is why don't range Land Rover come out the dark ages and do something along the same lines its not like they are hurting for meony . I really like the cars but I don't have faith in them to be reliable or theft proof
I tried it on my new Range Rover and now it won’t lock anymore 😂 best leave alone I recommend back to dealer and deny all in the morning
Leave it to goto sleep and then try again - do you have the incontrol app ? can you try locking using the incontroll app?
Also try sitting in the car and pressing the lock button inside the car - this may help.
You need to do this to both keys. The function is in the key, not the car
It didn’t work
Hi - what year is your car ?
2012
@@ethanli7190 It should work - is it an L405 model ? i thought they were launched in 2013
do you guys know who to disable it on the evoque 2013
Hi - you can try the same thing - our Evoque does not have keyless entry so cant test it - sorry
