When Thomas refers to the regular Ghost as having a 10mm offset, it’s actually 12. The Glycerin is 10mm.
Thanks nerd
Actually the women’s is 12 and men’s 11. And i wonder if they are including the insole.
Yes they are including the insole.
@@davidrosenthal5795 You think so? Seems odd to include a separate piece that's not really part of the shoe itself. I always thought that was considered separate. Not that it really matters. 😂
@@PLANETWATERMELON they include it because your foot sits directly on top of it so it’s added in how high your foot is off the ground
Just had my first run in these today. Brooks shipped them to me early. They feel alot lighter then the listed weight. I love the firm cushioning. The miles just flew by. These are so darn easy to run in. I can see why Brooks kept the cushioning on the firmer side. It will make sense when you run in them. I'm so glad I bought these. Did I mention they feel LIGHT !!! And I wear an 11.5. I always run in the Brooks Ghost and Saucony Kinvaras > Liked the Launch 9, got the Launch 10 and I ordered these > The Launch 10's are going back. This shoe almost feels like a well cushioned Kinvara when running in them. The Ghost Max ROCKS for sure. And I'm a 53 year old runner with beat up knees. Order them from Brooks and you get the 90 day guarantee. You will be glad you did. And one more thing > This does not feel like the basic Ghost. Totally different shoe.
Literally just followed your pattern for my 10K Trainers
Launch 9 GTS wore out
Ordered Launch 10 GTS
Tried Hyperion GTS/Ghost Max
Now I’m basically only wearing the Max 😭😂🤙
Probably due to more thickness that can give and they don’t want it to feel unstable being taller and if it were too quishy.
I wear a size 15 and the uppers can be crazy on some other shoes but Brooks has the best fit in larger sizes. I’m excited about running in these shoes.
i used to run nothing but Brooks when the pure line was around, but they phased it out and i phased them out, but this looks very intriguing. 6mm drop? nice.
I loved the Pure line. That was soon after I started running and they were great shoes for that time.
Same with me, I was a bit Brooks fan for a while. Had a couple of iterations of the Adrenaline and the Ghost. Then I just kinda got board of them, went to Hoka, then found my place again in Saucony, still bought a pair of the Kinvara Pro’s a week ago but also tried these on and just like that, Brooks is on my radar once again!

I tried them on yesterday and it was firmer than I expected… it has lot of cushion but felt a little firm from my liking… I am still using nb rebel v2 and I like the cushy feeling of it even through it has much less stack height
Nice to hear Thomas shouting out the Hyperion Max, too.
Brooks the Buick of shoes lol
I'm team Puma Magnify Nitro 2. These are cool also.
I like the look too. Actually, I think it's the better looking one in current Brooks offerings.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
You guys always critical of Brooks but Brooks deliver consistent good shoes year after year and their numbers prove it. Love me some reliable Brooks that don't "improve" the fit ala ASICS/Nike/Sacouny model in/model out for example.
It’s crazy how it’s crazy how 39mm stack height now is just the average or norm now.
Right!! Like 30/33 use to be standard
Looks like Maxroad 5 vibe. The weight, the rocker, the drop and the stack height 😅
Between two shoes Ghost Max vs Magnify Nitro 2 please
How does it compare to the Clifton 9?
OMG! Is Thomas actually smiling? I thought he said Brooks were boring. They're definitely different looking. I wonder if Brooks plans to implement this "softer" look to their other models?
Which Puma? Magnify 2?
Any chance of it being released globally? More specifically in the Brazilian market?
Can anyone tell me if this would be too bouncy for treadmill use? Only asking because there seems to be a lot of foam at the bottom
Not baddd might pick this one up
Give it a try!
Need a comparo vid tween this and the Glycerin 20, which is a 10mm drop, me thinks. Is this just a lower drop Glycerin 20?
How does this compare to the brooks glycerin 21?
Looking for a pair of long run shoes. Wish to hear some comparisons between Brooks Ghost Max and Saucony Endorphin Shift 3
I wouldn't compare the 2. the Shifts are firm with low drop.
@kloun1980 but the ghost max is 6mm drop and shift is 4mm correct? So not that off . I bet the shift has more rocker. I had the shift v1 and had a good rocker...but too firm
Shift's rocker is more dramatic and noticeable, and the PWRRUN is firmer underfoot.
I'm usually a 5.5, but I wear the brooks Ghost 15 in a 6. It also fits, but I had a stress fracture this past March. I'm really afraid of making a mistake. I also had planter fasciitis last summer. I was recommend the regular ghost 15 for that issue, but it was just before this one came out.
Do you think this might be a better choice for people who have had foot issues? Do these fit the same as the ghost 15. I noticed this shoe does not come in a 5.5, but does a 6.
For normal every day wear and not running which is softer after break in this or the ghost16?
The ghost 16 felt like the v3 was softer but the max has more thickness to give plus it felt flatter on the ground where the 16 felt like it had weird lumps on the sides of the sole to me. They didn’t have my size in the max so I could get a good feel on fit at all.
The 16 also seems to have a little softer insole and I noticed it had a little squish under the insole if you pull it out.
Different feel. Not sure why it is a “ghost” at all.
Got the shoes today, true to size. Simple upper, plain comfortable bottoms, not squishy, no bounce. If I had shopped for these in person, I would not have purchased them. I agree with another comment, overpriced for what you get. My $59 Skechers Swirl Tech shoes feel better walking around in.
Yayyyy Brooks Bondi
Seems They're Following Hoka With The Low Drop...
Would Someone Who Likes Brooks 12mm, 10mm Like & Enjoy 6mm Ghost Max?
Forefoot & Midfoot Runners Seem To Prefer Low Drop Shoes...
Rear Foot / Heel Strikers Tend To Prefer 12 to 10 & 8 as minimum drops...
Probably a little too late buuuut with this and the Hyperion max, i don't think MAX refers to the stack height? The Hyperion Max on brooks website its listed as "most cushioning" while this Ghost Max is listed as "standard cushioning", not even their mid level "more cushioning". I think it has more to do with they're both the "best" versions of what the models they're based off of is trying to achieve? The Hyperion max and Ghost max being the definitive versions of their respective namesakes. Oooooor my second theory is it is because both the Max models so far are the only Brooks with rocker geometry, the Ghost Max with the GlideRoll Rocker, and the Hyperion Max with the Rapid Roll technology, Brooks may be using the Max title to seprate their rocker lineup? Both are a bit of a stretch but there's NO way it's related to stack height (especially after the forbidden Loft V3 Glycerin Max with over 40mm stack height, the REAL max cushion shoe Brooks heads will be waiting for)
Thank you for coming to my TED talk
Any chance to compare + contrast with Clifton?
Will keep this in mind for a between 2 shoes.
I’m intrigued, but not at $150 haha I will happily wait until it goes on sale as there will be plenty of other max cush shoes that will be/are available for less
For older models? Yes, there are cheaper. Among current max cushion trainers, this is actually a very competitive price, (Nimbus 25 $160, More v4 $150, Bondi 8 $165, Cloudmonster $170, Triumph 21 $160, Glycerin 20 $160, Invincible 3 $180)
@@ielle.agree
Wondering how supportive this shoe might be. I currently run in the Adrenaline, which I like because it is relatively firm. Should we expect a GTS version of this shoe--not that I am convinced that the GTS guide rails actually do anything?
It does have some stability > It has a wide overall sole > I think you will like the firm cushioning of the Ghost max > I love the shoe.
Thanks!@@ChadEdwards-uk7ti
Nice straight last
What can't we get some beloved Guffet from Mr. Buffet's company? :D Good review guys!
They are totally Kewl people. Love them >
Does anyone like the ghost 16?
Is the side of the room that Thomas is on much cooler than Meg's side?
Durability issues with this shoe for me. I'm on my second pair and the outsole and plastic around laces is peeling off.
Meg is totally cool and smart. She's beautiful.
Would you say this show is more or less firm then Magnify Nitro?
Did they reduce the regular Ghost to a 10 drop?
No
How do they compare to the NB More v4s?
The brooks feels less blocky
Less blocky, a bit firmer underfoot, and the rocker rolls you through the stride.
If I want to feel pain in my knees I always go with my Ghosts not a fan anymore.
Me too. Nb and asics treats my body better.
@@Mattlock52 I’ve found that the Nike invisibles are very good for daily trainers lots off padding if that’s what you’re looking for I have a pair of ASICS I like too tho.
Technique is more important than the shoe. When improving technique to more of a forefoot strike a 12 mm drop shoe like a Ghost will be awkward to run in.
Worst shoe I ever used however was NB fresh foam X 840. My feet never hurt more after a 10k than with this shoe.
My all time favorite running shoe is the Asics J33.
This looks like a try. Do you know if they will offer a 2E?
yes they will.
@@mikebillish9095 I asked Brooks on Facebook and they confirmed multiple widths in just a couple minutes. Most companies it takes days to hear back from. They just earned my business again
Brooks putting MAX behind Hyperion then now Ghost seems lazy just like all their designs. I was given a pair of Levitate for pacing a marathon. Did a 5k, they went to donation 😅
The Levitate is way heavier than it has any business being. They should rename it Ankleweight, Ankleweight GTS, Ankleweight Stealthfit (it's not actually THAT heavy of a shoe, but is way heavier than what it's marketed as lol I'm just being a hater)
Will there be a Glycerin Max? If not what it the difference between the Ghost Max and the Glycerin?
for now the only differences are stack height/drop and midsole (DNA Loft V2 vs V3). if the Glycerin get the Max treatment I guess it will be Brooks' version of Fresh Foam More.
From my experience, the Glycerins soles went flat after 3 months of wearing them just on treadmill and fitness classes. Ghost seems to hold their soles and bounce shape much longer then the glycerins
I've seen 2 reviewers mention a glycerin max coming.
Glycerin soles are softer than Ghost soles. If you like firmer soles, go with the Ghosts. If you like soft/plush/comfy soles, go Glycerin.
It’s looks like a shoe I would wear. I wish I didn’t have to wait so long to get it.
We have to wait until Oct if not soon enough.
I thought Regular Ghost has a 12 mm drop.
Yup
Looks promising
Its totally a Camry! 😆
So everyone hate on brooks not being innovative but I really like how they aren’t pulling a Saucony and making trendy shoes with no identity. Also the brooks ghost drop is 12mm like mention below. This is a great release they really had nothing in this category with the glycerin nitrogen infused midsole being more responsive then soft. This is a nice lil release. I praying the glycerin goes down to an 8mm drop and loses about an oz in weight. That would be amazing.
I really like Saucony's lineup, but the Kinvara Pro in particular is identityless lol that shoe makes no sense to me when the Endorphin Speed line is already so good and was arguably THE shoe that launched the "super trainer" category industry-wide.
I run in the Ghost line and mix it up with Kinvaras. The Kinvara 12 was like running on cement slabs. They got way too firm for me. I couldn't wait to get them off of my feet. Now I'm running in the Launch 9's and I really like them but this Ghost max has me excited. I just preordered a pair from Brooks. They have the 90 day guarantee > Saucony has lost me over the years. I'm staying with Brooks.
Got mine and had it for 3 hours before getting it completely shredded by my dryer after a long run, other than that it was great!
I want to know what Meghan loved about it! she got cut off.
Basically, it’s a Chrysler Sebring Convertible
OMG !!! You definitely annihilated any remote chance for me to buy one pair someday.
😂😂😂
Isn’t that what Michael Scott drives? 😂😂
Comment of the day
I always had an issue with the durability of Brooks outsoles. Significant wear from the beginning and the midsole was exposed after 150 k
Opposite for me. No outsoles have the durability of adidas and Puma but Brooks and Asics are next best for me, followed by Saucony-not so good though I love their shoes.
Why do they use the same name for a COMPLETELY different shoe? This is NOT a traditional Ghost, so why use the name?
How does Max rival Glycerin?
Seems like the difference lies in whether you like a responsive foam (Glycerin) or a sink-in foam (Ghost Max).
Rumour has it there is a Glycerin Max in the pipeline
The drop, and foam composition. Nitrogen in the glycerin so a bit more pop (but not really much)
I hope it arrives in the Brazilian market
How does it compare to Endorphin Shift 3?
Why 2.0, not DNA Loft 3.0 foam?
3.0 is firmer and more responsive. This shoe is meant to be a max cushion from my understanding, so they went with something softer
Why did they go MAX with the ghost? And not the glycerine?......looks good but I'll wait for the MAX in that model:) Brooks Glycerine MAX!!!:) please Brooks please!!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Stay tuned :)
The looks nice but boring ...so yes Toyota Camry 😂😂
How do you review shoes & not know the drop of the brooks ghost
Why do they even make shoes without a gusseted tongue at this point 🤷♂️
Exactly. I won't be purchasing these shoes for that reason only.
@@abcdefg3301 and the fact another well known and respected reviewer stated "roomy and wide toebox".
Brooks does a really good job with the tongue on the standard Ghost. Padded well, doesn't move around & doesn't have the restrictive feel of a gusset.
@@steverogers6867 … which BTW is what I look for, having a narrow and slim foot
I think because people that have wider feet, high arches, the "gusseted"locks/press too much the feet. Sometimes I have to cut the gusseted to free, to get my feet into the shoe. There are some shoes not gusseted that have a "cut" in the upper side of the tongue to pass the laces, so it remains "locked" I am not sure if this one has it.
If that shoe was in fluo green...
There will be tons of colorways in no time, I’m sure
I like wearing this shoe, but it does look like a boring, seattle tech nerd brooks shoe.
Why do people even apply categories like boring or exciting on shoes 😂? I never look at my shoes while running. I want a shoe that becomes unnoticeable while running so boring would be a good way to describe that 😂.
Do yall wash yalls hands after touching the bottom of yalls shoes? Remember.. Yall are in Baltamore.. yall have stepped on needles and crack pipes.
They did. They told me privately. You can now continue living life without fear
First
I’m surprised that y’all love the aesthetic. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc.. But tome, this looks like an orthotic shoe. Super ugly.
