This is great, but a question still remains... Can you describe the method by which you arrived at CHOOSING to do these things for the material.. Like, did you just look at pictures of sand, and then just mentally identify and divide up the different components of the material and how those notions would be converted into nodes? Or is there a more systematic way to evaluate the components of a realworld material one wishes to implement?
As a beginner, your videos helped me to learn and master blender quickly, if you are new here I recommend Ryan's beginner tutorials, they are great value. Thanks alot Ryan
Really nice stuff, just started with these tutorials, a lot of things can be used for games. Is there any tricks to make the pebbles/rocks a bit rounder? They get somewhat of a cone shape here
I looked through your materials Playlist and i noticed that you do not have a somewhat translucent jade material. Any chance of doing a tutorial for one??
Not sure if its a difference in versions (im on 4.3) but I keep ending up soooo close to your results, but not quite. then i fiddle with one thing or another and get it right eventually, but my end UI thing will have some value at like 1/100 or 100x of yours
Brother can you also make certain tutorial of anime like looks. Just explain how to achieve anime like material look in on going tutorial please reply it will help alot.
Hy, I copied the tutorial exactly 1:1 and my texture still looks completely different 😄 Furthermore, some of my nodes are completely different, such as the Voronoi texture, my node only has two sliders, yours has 5 sliders and other nodes are completely different. Which version of Blender are you using? or did I forget to install an additional add-on?
Hey Ryan, I've been having some problems with materials that got deleted by accident. however for some reason all the setup in the shading was retained but its not showing anything. So i thought what if i duplicate the setup from the shading, create a new material and copy paste the setup from previous shading. this will only result in a black texture. Ever had this problem ?
Interesting idea and would be nice, however he has already technically given you the tools to do this, the only thing would maybe be little stuff like composition, environments and putting it altogether which other people have already done. Maybe he could show how to do dust clouds or something? Not sure what you're looking for. You could whip up some terrain with a generator or use the sculpt tool to create something manually among other things, then it would be just a matter of applying the shaders you've ( hopefully ) already learned.
Hi!! I was trying to use this material in one project and as soon as i added it my pc crashed 🥲 this happend multiple times and only with this material… did anyone else have the same issue?
I mean that's kind of the point, and I would say that Ryan is pretty decent at not just teaching how to make specific materials, But teaching how the actual nodes work through making materials.

THX A LOT
👍
Would love to see you make some PS1 style models and textures
Question: Why are the rocks not included in the displacement?
you could add them if you want to. I just didnt want them to pop out too much. they are basically pebbles, so they are pretty small.
Hi. You won't tell me how to do color correction. Especially for scanned drawings. Thanks
Hey make a video on Dune environment creation

maybe you could bake the material to texture maps. that should be a bit easier on your computer.
I am having issues also it is struggling to render it i don't crash but its not far off and i have a powerful pc so stumpped as to why
One can watch 10 videos of yours and start making his own materials

Wow im insanely early to this lol

Looks coarse, rough, irritating, and is probably gonna get everywhere.
